Really enjoyed our meals. The staff were really attentive and made sure we were looked after. The food was really tasty and very good value.

Went for Sunday lunch - two courses. Food was excellent in both quality and value and service was very good. We were made to feel very welcome.

Staff in restaurant are very friendly and helpful. Offer a good variety of dishes including starters, main courses and desserts. Very enjoyable dinner with wonderful environment.

Our meal at Bistro Italiano was superb. It was several weeks ago on a cold February Friday evening but when we entered the restaurant the owner warmly welcomed us and introduced himself. He was very helpful in describing the restaurant specials and recommendations from the menu. The menu was extensive and offered pizza, pasta, fish & meats and the choice catered for all prices. My husband and I both had the home made ravioli followed by steak which was cooked perfectly and finished with a delicious Tiramisu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and look forward to a return visit to Bistro Italiano next time we are in Durham City.

A very warm welcome. A wide choice of menu. Was recommended a lovely bottle of wine. Very busy,so be patient while meal being cooked as well worth the wait. Great atmosphere ;all in all a fabulous evening!! Thank you Bistro Italiano!!

Food quality was excellent and that makes such a difference to enjoyment. The only minor points were that too many waiters were fussing around in what is a small space anyway, and the music was disappointing. Bring back Puccini, especially on Valentines Day! However, the food is so good that we will continue to make this our choice of place to eat in Durham - their chef is a genius!

This is a a wonderful restaurant we always have a brilliant meal, the service is always excellent and a very welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend it for a good meal.

Excellent service and food was divine! The complementary dough balls, amaretto shots and valentines rose made the experience all the more enjoyable and I will be sure to visit again soon.

Lots of very good dining offers from early bird specials to two or three course options. Lovely atmosphere with tablecloth covered tables. Lovely wine list. Had the delightful montepulciano d's bruzzo. Our 2nd trip but will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic welcome, lovely warm and friendly restaurant - a total hidden gem in my opinion. Excellent menu with the most amazing variety (fish, steak, chicken, pizza, pasta, specials), also super value 3 course meal (£10.95). Will definitely be back.

Great food, atmosphere and service! I hade the mozzarella Frances to start and the pollo voldostana for main, both were so delicious. The restaurant had a very authentic Italian feel and the waiters were so helpful.

Friendly atmosphere and ridiculously delicious food. Served in generous amount and at price way too low for the quality of everything (but please don’t raise the price) Had lasagne and this is a restaurant that knows how to make the normal dishes outstanding. Best lasagne of my life!

Amazing food! What a lovely experience we went for lunch on Saturday, excellent service, the staff are lovely. Had scallops and garlic prawns, my husband had tempura king prawns and lobster linguine, absolutely superb, first class, will definitely be back soon.

Very fresh ingredients, generous portions, friendly staff. It is advisable to choose from the daily specials menu. Not always easy to park outside. I plan to go again.

Lovely ambience and great service. Food was absolutely delicious and extremely good value, £30 for a starter to share, lasagne for me and a pizza for my hubby, washed down with a bottle of house merlot. We will most definitely be back 😁
