The Blackbird Inn

had a wonderful dinner at The Blackbird Inn on Tuesday evening. The food was excellent — the lamb in particular was exceptional: perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy country feel that made the evening even more enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We found the pricing fair for the quality of food and experience. Waiting times were minimal, and the restaurant had a pleasant buzz without being too noisy. Highly recommended!

Visited this restaurant before, this time for Sunday lunch. Food was piping hot and we both enjoyed our meals.

Food and service was great, very disappointed I was charged for a full sized Sunday lunch. I have a stomach condition which means I can only eat tiny portions. I asked if I could have a child or small portion of the Sunday roast. I was told I couldn't have a children's portion as I was over 14 but was told I could have a smaller portion When the dinner arrived it was massive. I asked the server if it was definitely a small dinner, he checked with the kitchen and confirmed it was. When the bill arrived I'd been charged fir a full dinner, I questioned this to be told that a small portion meant the same as a normal portion just with less veg and cost the same! If this had been explained to me initially I wouldn't have ordered any food. Paying £18 for 5/6 mouthfuls of food is ridiculous! Saying i could have a small portion I expected exactly that, a dinner which is overall smaller. The Northumberland Arms, the same chain do small portions, having eaten there several times I assumed being the same company the BlackBird would be the same. The manager wasn't exactly pleasant when I challenged the bill, I asked for the 10% service charge to be removed. Such a shame as we visit Ponteland often, we had £50 worth of drinks and the other 3 adults i was with all had expensive main meals and desserts. I usually share a small portion with my dog so don't mind paying for a small portion knowing I won't eat it all. I am part of a face book page for people with my stomach condition, we review places we eat. I will be sharing my disappointing experience within the group. Very disappointed that a small portion couldn't be served and paid for, this rules this pub out for me completely.

Food was fantastic and the waiting staff were extremely friendly. We will definitely be coming back.

The food quality was not as good. The chips were not proper triple cooked chips they tasted like frozen chips.

Sunday lunch was amazing. One of the nicest we have eaten in a while. So impressed with everything on our plate. Lovely friendly staff and great service. Can not wait to return!

The fish of the day dish (rock bass) was very good. The chicken burger was a bit greasy. The waitress we had was lovely and attentive.

Celebrating Mother's Day early with my mam and duster. Fabulous good. I had the lamb which so tender and succulent. My mam had fish of the day, which was hake and my sister had the haddock and chips. Service was great too and staff very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend eating here.

Lovely family visit to The Blackbird for Sunday lunch. We had a table for 8 upstairs in the restaurant. Lovely setting, delicious food and staff were excellent. Can’t wait to go again.

As ever, very high quality food and fabulous recipes that are a delicious twist on classics. Pork belly loaded fries was particularly impressive! And waitress Georgia was a delight - wishing her all the best with her university studies 😊

Lunch on Sunday with my adult daughter & 9o y. Grandson. Initially worried about portion sizes when ordering a child’s meal- he had 3 courses & the portion sizes were large! We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Roast meats all round. No wait for our table- bar staff even reminded us to confirm our number plate for parking. Not cheap but great food and great value for money! Desiring staff were knowledgeable and attentive. We’ll be back!

A wonderful lunch with attentive service was topped off with a warm and welcoming interior, as usual at The Blackbird, on such a cool day. We couldn't fault any part of our meal and will return again as we so enjoy dining here.

Absolutely stunning food, wonderful atmosphere. Very lovely waiting staff. Only downside was the wait times for the food was quite long, but when you see the level of detail and finesse that the dishes come out with it is definitely worth it
