Fantastic food, service and atmosphere in a great pub. The Turkey roast dinner was superb.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The waiter was excellent. My friend spilt his beer but nothing was a fuss. The waiter moved us to the next table. The food was fantastic

Friendly staff and great food. We arrived 35 minutes early and every table was reserved. They did their best to get us seated ASAP which was very kind as we have 2 young children. Kids menu was amazing portions and value for money. We had a lamb roast and fish and chips, both very good for taste and size. Puddings were fantastic but at 9.50 each, seemed quite expensive. Glad we treat ourselves though and we'll definitely visit again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in a lovely atmosphere. Georgia, our waitress, was charming as were all the other staff at the Blackbird.

Fabulous meal, fish was delicious could not fault anything and service was outstanding will definitely call again.

All enjoyed our Christmas meal and at no time felt pressured to vacate our table. Service was very good. Good range of food to choose from. although not a vegetarian, the celeriac and apple risotto was a welcome change from usual vegetarian dishes.

We were welcomed into cheery,warm atmosphere for a delicious festive lunch. Our friendly waiter supplied several alternative choices. The food proved to be a mouthwatering start to our Christmas celebrations. Thank you

The pub was beautiful, staff very friendly and attentive. Sunday lunch was nice but the meat was chewy and the veg was a bit bland. No where near as good as the sister pub, the Northumberland arms.

We were in the upstairs restaurant. Perfect. Originally booked in the bar, but Blackbird contacted to say it might be a little noisy on a Friday night, so went with their suggestion to move booking. Glad we did. Perfect service and really great food.

Food was good and varied menu. Reasonably priced. All staff very pleasant and efficient.

This was our first Sunday Lunch at the Blackbird and it did not disappoint. We had received good recommendations for friends who have ate here which encouraged our visit. I had the roast beef sirloin, my wife had chicken and our daughter had fish and chips. All the dishes were very good & well presented. The serving staff were excellent and very friendly. We will certainly return to The Blackbird on further occasions.

Room was full so quite noisy, two of our party have poor hearing so had difficulty in joining in the conversation. Waitress service was good, we asked for well done topside beef, it was still quite pink really but we ate it anyway. Overall we all thought the food could have been hotter, it was all luke warm; however there was a generous portion of vegetables and our Eton Mess desserts were excellent.

First time at The Blackbird but certainly not the last. We ate upstairs where there are fewer tables, which we preferred as quieter than downstairs. The pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas and we really couldn't fault anything about the food or service. A great find.

Unfortunately our reservation was in the bar area which we were unaware of. We asked whether there was a table in the restaurant and were told we could wait until the next people vacated. We didn’t have long to wait for a table.

Wonderfully relaxing, quiet, well looked after without being disturbed. Food was grand, good proportions and very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a return trip 👍.

Very busy, but the staff coped very well. The food as usual was excellent! Very quick to be served and good portion size. Only slight hitch was one pudding didn’t arrive but was quickly sorted! I highly recommend any to visit blackbird for food…

Fantastic Sunday dinner was enjoyed by all, we were a party of 5, 4 of us had the topside of beef (pink) which was to die for , very friendly staff, great service and great atmosphere, a very nice place , highly recommended.

Overall good experience, main courses excellent, pudding would be better warm. Room a little chilly.

Can thoroughly recommend the steak & ale pie with plenty of veg. Pity there weren't child portions as my meal was a bit too big to justify having a dessert.

Food was delicious had the pheasant. Disabled parking is very bad only 2 spaces with no etching for either to enable mevto get my wheelchair out. Not impressed seating over original disabled parking. I had to park using 2 spaces.

Had Sunday lunch very tasty vegetables. Beef was very tough and pork was very very fatty.
