Brasserie Vacherin - Croydon

Empty restaurant -no lunchtime buzz despite the attractive décor and reasonably priced lunch menu. Brilliant service from the waitress, very friendly and attentive. We ordered the 3 course set menu using a Groupon. Steaks for mains, mine with a béarnaise sauce that shockingly burned my mouth and throat on taste (not heat, but a complete vinegar overload). Unfortunately I had already poured the sauce all over the steak before tasting it, so having taken only one bite I politely sent it back to the kitchen . The chef refused it, and the embarrassed waitress returned the plate to the table whilst trying convince me that béarnaise sauce was supposed to taste of vinegar...then hurried away. I pushed the plate to the side to make it 100% clear that I would not be eating it. They spent spent 5 min watching me not eat...then he eventually agreed to replace the meal (but at my request sans béarnaise sauce!). I travel to Paris frequently for work and luckily get to enjoy tasty authentic French cuisine regularly. Initially I thought this would be a local gem...sadly not. The food at Brasserie Vacherin - Croydon was a let down.

Lovely meal and evening at this restaurant. Only gripe is i was told the almond cherry tart came with cream but instead it was natural yogurt which i didn't like.

Lovely food and great atmosphere. This was our first time at Brasserie Vacherin for a birthday celebration. Worth noting that they add service automatically, though we were ok with this. We'll be back!

Very nice food, friendly staff. We had a very enjoyable evening.Lots to try on the menu for next time we visit, which we intend to do, to take advantage of some of the special evening offers.

Our evening was to celebrate my husband's birthday. The atmosphere as usual was very good. The food was very tasty and well presented. We have been coming to the Croydon branch for a while now and always find the food and service good. Just a note though - my name is Chic not Chris as stated on the communications.

Great food, great service. Really helpful and well informed about the food and wine choice. Souffle was delicious and the lemon sole outstanding. Highly recommend
