Byzantium Tapas

Great choice of easy eat tapas, Great service. We love the Belly Pork and Crevettes. Patatas Bravas and Aoili are always a winner. Great value

Friendly service, tasty food and a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Byzantium as a place to go into from the cold and experience the warmth and wonder of happy dinning.

Very nice meal range of Spanish and Mediterranean inspired dishes. We particularly enjoyed broad bean in goats cheese and chicken liver dishes but all good. Quality of food has improved since we came many years ago and good service.

This was our first visit as we were going to watch a band play. And wanted someone to eat first. What a lovely restaurant, we felt we were on holiday as the restaurant had a very authentic feel about it. The service was lovely and the food was gorgeous. Highly recommended we will definitely be going back 😀👍

Best tapas food in Birmingham! Lovely welcoming staff, great ambience and priced fairly. Firm favourite of ours. Been numerous times and will continue to do so.

Service and food excellent. We got there at !8.15 for our reservation and the restaurant had opened at 17.30. Unfortunately, the restaurant was freezing! No sign of heating and we had to dine with our coats on. We will return as we enjoyed the food, but only when the warm weather arrives!

Love this restaurant. Always great service, always lovely food. Flatbread, olives and dips is a must. Even though we booked the wrong date they found us a table!

Restaurant is lovely and I definitely recommend, but they didn't know anything about the booking made through quandoo. However we were served without having to wait as it was a mid week evening not very busy. Not sure it would be the case on a busiest day.

Good food and wine with reasonable value for money. The ambience would have been better if we had been seated downstairs, however, the service was fairly quick.

Lovely food and friendly service. We had a very relaxing time. No complaints. Would have been a six if we had been blown away by the food and ambiance. The pork dish was of that merit, the rest was tasty but didn't completely blow our minds.

Excellent food & service. Byzantium continues to be one of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham. We had the lamb tagine, croquettes, Greek salad, flatbread & houmous and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. £45 for 2 with a bottle of wine and tip.

Quaint little place with reasonable Tapas. Service with a smile. A good change from the usual starters, mains and desserts routine. Worth a shot. Will consider again.

Lovely restaurant with a varied menu, portion size has increased so a bit more difficult to have tapas in the true sense but still very tasty.

Great atmosphere in a low key environment, made to feel welcome by staff and customers despite us not being regulars. Food was served quickly and hot following our order but most importantly tasted great!!! Certainly recommend the potato croquetas and prawns in creamy garlic sauce.... we will definitely be going again!!

Lovely local tapas restaurant. Food is very very good - lots of options for both meat eaters and vegetarian. Nice atmosphere although you can be a bit squeezed in at times. They have an upstairs room but only open it if busy - I prefer it as much more roomy.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The albondigas were a little heavy with cumin and we did wait a little bit long for the bill but I would definitely visit again!! Big thumbs up!

I really like the flavours at Byzantium but for small dishes, I think it's very expensive. £6.95 for a small dish of broad beans and artichoke! The place is usually busy, though, so I guess not everyone agrees with me.

The food was great, as always! I especially loved the halloumi and grilled vegetables and the chorizo and chick peas. Very nice ambiance and good selection of food and drinks.

Good service, good food, and good atmosphere. Eaten here twice and have enjoyed it on both occasions. On our first visit, our main courses were a little delayed (not to the point of complaining). We hadn't even reached the point of enquiring when the waiter came over and apologised for the delays and gave us both dessert and a digestif for free. This is a restaurant that cares about their customers' experience and serves great food. Highly recommended.

Food is good and not overly expensive. I still will never understand why they serve dishes with an odd number of items on them. I normally go with my partner and share everything so getting three, five or seven of something is a little bit of a pain. A minor gripe though as, all in all, very nice.

His good & good atmosphere - they knew it as our son's birthday so they could have made a bit more of that but otherwise all great.

Delicious food with good choice of dishes. Didn't have our first choice of wine as delivery didn't come. Friendly staff . Just wish the tables weren't so close together

We've visited this restaurant regularly and for me it never quite comes up to scratch. Last night the fish wasn't cooked and one of the hot dishes was cold but the atmosphere is good so we will return again. Took advantage of the Monday offer but I question whether it's good value for money in terms of actual food with 2 breads and small dips + 3 tapas + 1 special for two people for £25. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to pay any more than that.

One of my favourites- best tapas in south Birmingham. Always a great atmosphere and wonderful food. Recommend the dips and the prosecco. Great service too.

First time at Byzantium and first time at a Tapas restaurant. Asked for and given good advice on what to order. Food arrived quickly and was excellent. Would not hesitate to return and recommend.

Excellent food, service and great atmosphere .. Despite being very busy as it was a flamenco guitar night, the staff were very helpful answering questions on our choice of dishes & wine. A memorable night out! Tina

Easily my favourite restaurant in the whole of Birmingham, and that's saying something. The care and attention to detail and quality of produce used make the whole experience delightful.

Ok food overall. patatas bravas potatoes were over cooked as was the potatas olivoli, the table we were given was very weird and at the bottom of some stairs and very busy people walking past, Prices were reasonable as were the drinks, Service was spot on couldn't fault it
