Carluccio's - South Kensington

This used to be one of our favourite places for brunch. Sadly standards have dropped quite a lot. The food was acceptable but nothing out of the ordinary. Cleanliness was poor. Several items of cutlery were dirty at our place settings. Teapots and milk jugs had dried stains on the outside of them. Initial service was good but once we had our savoury course no one returned to offer us anything else - we would have liked more coffees and pastries. Doubt we will return again.

The food was fine but the service was really bad. I was dining with my 92 year mother and we were left waiting for 20 mins with no food menus or drinks order taken. I had to cross the restaurant to ask for service . The waiter was hurried and brusque. Not a good experience.

We have visited many times but last night was extremely busy with fewer staff. We waited ages for our starter. The noise level was awful then they put on music so conversation was almost impossible ( they did turn it down when asked) Food was good though

Service was poor, staff were rude, food was terrible. Won't be going back!

Food was really good. Great environment. Only thing is that service is a bit slow (50mins waiting to get the main plates)

Carluccios is always great. We took my daughter who has allergies (soya and dairy) but allergens are not shown on the menu. The manager did come to see us with the allergy list but we didn’t find her particularly helpful and found it difficult to find a suitable meal for our daughter. She ended up just ordering a starter. It would be helpful if the allergen list was available on the website so we could have decided in advance as to whether the restaurant was suitable.

Very small portions and prices have gone up quite a bit

The restaurant was very busy, not surprisingly as school half term & near museums, so service took longer than desired. When food came, the order was initially wrong.

Miserable waitress. Utterly charmless. Phoned it in totally throughout the meal. Two of three dishes were served poorly. One was cold and the other had very little meat sauce. Desserts were very tiny portions which for £7 a pop was terrible value for money. However, the manager did comp one dish when we complained which at least recognised the poor food and service. Atmosphere was reasonable though and quite festive although it distinctly felt like none of the staff wanted to be there.

Used to come to Carluccio’s lots when our kids were babes and toddlers. So good to come back for grown up family meals where there is something for everyone. Great atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food.

Incredibly disappointed as after we ordered, we were informed the restaurant was out of seabass, brocollini and pizza - half of our table couldnt have their first choice.

Lovely friendly staff. Really nice meal. We are so sad that the Carluccios chain has shrunk so much. We shall return to the South Kensington branch soon.

The restaurant is a nice place and location and was very busy, lots of loud children 😂 when we arrived. We were attended well upon arrival, which we arrived 30 mins early but were seated. The waiter was good and attentive also. I ordered a Tuna Salad, the potato’s were cold as if were sitting all day. Tuna was ok, but I’ve had a lot better. There was literally one anchovy in the salad. The fries were luke warm cold. So overall below par to expectations. I ordered a beer, which I noticed after drinking was past its sell by date 😮‍💨. Overall it was ok but some issues.

Exceptional food we all agreed, be it the Sea Bream, Duck Confiet (a new addition to the menu I believe-please keep it) or Veg option. The Orange sauce for the Duch was sensational and the potatoes done to perfection. Wonderfully seasoned with Rosemary. I asked them to leave out the Garlic and they did! They went the extra mile and gave me some Fennel Salami and Parma Ham from the Kitchen at retail price, to take home, which was beyond my expectations too! I recomend this restaurant. South Kensington location is ideal too- A perfect Day!

Last time 2 years ago we had a ver poor meal with indifferent service. Last evening wa quite different with decent food- the sea food risotto was excellent- and the service quick and responsive
