The restaurant is understated. The food is wonderful and fresh. The menu is small but complete. The service is very friendly and flexible. I struggled to decide what to eat because it all sounded so interesting. And I could have ordered all of the desserts. Really enjoyed this place - it’s a favourite now!

I was disappointed by Carnevale. I used to go 20 years ago and the food was stunning. The menu (descriptions and prices) suggested it was the same. However, the food was all just mediocre. Also, the cafe was very shabby, which wouldnot have mattered if food was good. Lovely waitress

I'd been here before and expected better. Prices seem to have shot up but the portions were small, flavours lacklustre and the main was less than hot. A slice of bread from the breadbasket was covered in mould, and when I brought this discreetly to the attention of the only staff member around, he didn't seem particularly fazed or offer any reduction or complementary item. Will not be going there again.

Amazing vegetarian food, which our tables of 6 had trouble choosing from as there was so many good dishes to choose from! We needn't have worried as every dish came out a winner. Nce friendly service, reasonable prices.

Excellent food and attentive service. We ordered 4 starters which was more than enough for 2 people. The gnocchi was delicious, recommended ordering! Would visit again.

Really good quality veggie and vegan food that is affordably priced - have returned a few times since and the service and atmosphere is most enjoyable too!

Really lovely food. Wasn't too hungry so shared the artichoke starter and the goats cheese ravioli for a main. Would recommend to vegetarians and non-veggies too, but the best thing was having more than one veggie option for once! The waiter was also really friendly :)

Really nice food and private service as it was empty! Staff were friendly and offered advice with food selections. Great to find somewhere that caters for gf and other intolerances and dietary needs. Even our very non-vegetarian father enjoyed his meatless meal. Something was making a loud rumbling but otherwise fab.

Very cute and personal atmosphere. These guys know how to cook. The food was very delicious. They have a lot of vegan dishes on their menu anyway and offer to turn a couple of the vegetarian dishes into vegan ones for you. Can't wait to come back.

Lovely food and a cute little "garden" (it's not outside but feels like a garden!). I found the dessert a bit too much - I should have stopped after my main course really, as it was huge.

The least thrilling vegetarian food I've tasted in a long while. Mismatched ingredients cooked without love and assembled without panache in a poky eating arena of nil charisma.

Great service and very nice environment. Everything is perfect in this restaurant. The little and quite rooms are great if you want to have a chat with your guests. The food is excellent and the lady who welcomes you is extremely kind

The food was fantastic and the choices on offer was varied. We were sat in the 'conservatory' which was a little cramped but had a nice character to it. Luckily it was fairly quiet on the day we went so it didn't feel like too much of a squeeze.

Delicious food with a good range of options, and a generous portion size for the price. The outdoor conservatory area has a quaint, relaxed atmosphere - it feels like a real escape from the city! Service was great as well.

Nice atmosphere and the food was very tasty! The waitress was very helpful when trying to sort out Vegan/GF option despite there not being anything officially on the menu. Cheers guys!

Very friendly. Prompt service. Good range of veggie food. Slightly cramped seating in conservatory with one chair dangerously near edge of step (otherwise would have been a six!).

The place was small but the food was fantastic, delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The staff was friendly and the food came quickly.

There was hardly any atmosphere in the restaurant. No music, no customers on a Friday night. I think a lot of that has to do with the prices.

Nice little place - great for a quick meal and close to the Barbican Centre. I had the chickpea curry which was good and my other half had the veggie sausages and colcanon which she loved. Verdict - give it a try !

It was a very cosy place, though a bit small but the food was very tasty, home cooked and the portion size was large. Very good!

Fabulous food! Great for a vegan to actually have a choice! Also meat eaters will go away feeling like they have actually eaten a meal!

Excellent food in a lovely setting. Ate on a Tuesday night and was fairly busy. Menu on the website doesn't show beers and wine, but there is also a decent selection.

Nice friendly service but no atmosphere, lack of music and very cold inside. I went for the vegan options but unfortunately there were not many.

Very friendly service. Pleasant, quiet atmosphere. I had the ravioli as a main course and it was delicious. My dining partner had the falafel and he said it was very good. Food arrived promptly, which was good because this was a pre-cinema dinner. Free bread was nice.

Moderate food - good starter but watery, rather tasteless curry main course. Unhurried, relaxed and pleasant enough ambiance. Reasonable value but I'm not going to rush back - its been overtaken by more interesting vegetarian restaurants

Another wonderful experience at Carnevale. The staff were friendly, humorous and charming. The food, as ever, was absolutely delicious - this time it was a Valentine's menu that was both affordable and varied. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and we make a point of visiting regularly!

Lovely little restaurant, with a limited menu (which I liked!) and everything tasted great. Friendly staff, attentive service, good menu selection. It's a vegetarian place with gf and organic options. Would definitely go there again!

The dishes served at this understated little restaurant are excellent. If you haven't experienced really good vegetarian restaurant food, try this place. It was my first visit but my partner and I are keen to make a return visit pretty soon - I am longing to try the homemade sausages.... Terry

Friendly service, freshly cooked food that was imaginative and delicious. And a super clever name (veggie restaurant whose Italian moniker translates as "farewell, meat"). Simple but very appealing décor. Reasonable prices.

Great menu. Multiple vegan options. Attentive service. My only complaint is that the dessert was a little on the small side for the price. Other than that, we had a lovely meal here and wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we are in the area.

The food was amazing as well as the service. We had a little confusion paying and the staff were very understanding. I am recommending it to lots of people now! Thank you!

Food was great... shame about the service. They should lose at least 2 tables (the table of 2 and table of 4.) It is uncomfortable cramped. Especially if you are going to overcrowd diners at least do it with a smile. Otherwise your creating the wrong type of atmosphere. I preferred the first time I came with a friend. I enjoyed the menu so much I brought a table of 4 this time. Though this one time will be last time though.

Absolutely delicious homemade food! I had the vegan sausages and they were the best I've ever had. The waitress was so friendly as well and the restaurant itself was very peaceful. Definitely a hidden gem!

The food was great and the service lovely. It makes you realise just how much variety you can eat without meat. It was very quiet on a Friday night but they made us feel at home.

Very nice food, decent prizes. Ligthing and atmosphere not as cosy as could be. Staff was sweet. Overall good experience, would go again but maybe for more casual lunch as opose to dinner

Although quite hard to find due to weird numbering on the streets the food was really good. The chick pea curry was spot on and the Elderflower custard on the crumble was absolutely fantastic.

I haven't been to this place for a couple of years and now I'm wondering why that is. Excellent food and really great ambience. I won' leave it so long next time.

First rate food, wine and service. I had quite forgotten how good Carnivale is and any number of other tables clearly thought the same. I will be back.

Unfortunately we did not end up eating here. My wife does not eat mash potato and asked for her meal with roast potato instead (which was also on the menu). The chef/manager flat out refused this simple request! They have lost our business...

Wonderful food and a good selection of drinks. I recommend the sausages and mash. The toilet is a bit lacking as didn't have much space for someone at 6' 4".

Excellent, welcoming service. The food and wine were well presented and delicious - great choice. We will definitely be visiting again. Our vegetarian friend was impressed too!

Really good food. Great that it had vegan options - artichokes to start and falafel for main were both delicious. Waitress was very friendly and on the ball.

Good food and service. Had a selection of starters rather than a main course and they were all good. The wine was ok but overall not cheap.

The experience was poor. First off who doesn't serve pita bread with their greek sides (hummus), and the curry was very watery. I understand it's vegetarian, but it should be more flavorful.
