This is a really lovely little veggie restaurant, great food, friendly and attentive service, with several GF options which really suited my friend who is both veggie and needs GF. Only disappointment was that there was no separate GF bread, ie needed to be separate from the other bread as if it touches ordinary bread it is no good for my friend. A small point but only thing to be improved.

This is a nice restaurant, good service, lovely wine and reasonable food. For the price, I think the food is a little unexciting. I had the sausage and mash which was ok but a little bland.m

The food, as usual, was excellent, well chosen ingredients, cooked with a light touch, leaving intact the natural flavours, and served by friendly staff, it could not have been better. We will surely come again.

Great atmosphere, lovely staff and great service. The food was very enjoyable and came very quickly. The outdoor area was a nice quieter location to the main area in case you wanted more discreet location.

Charming, friendly and very helpful service for our first visit here. The food was delicious; we had 2 starters each and a couple of sides as these looked lighter than the mains. We felt that the portions were slightly too large but we enjoyed everything. The wine was good but needed to be slightly colder. We will return!

Quiet vegetarian bistro off Whitecross street. Great value for the location and quality of the food. If it is sunny try and get a table in the courtyard.

Great little restaurant with a good variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. If you find yourself in the Barbican area, do visit this hidden gem.

Great little place. Friendly service and generous portions of vegetarian comfort food. Atmosphere fees more like a neighbourhood restaurant than a restaurant in the heart of the city. Perfect after an exhibition at the nearby Barbican Centre. Will definitely be back.

Great food, no music was great as you could enjoy the buzz of people. A little on the pricey side but worth it. Chocolate Roulade was to die for, no chocolate for a week or so after that hit!

Lovely food and a good range of options. Only problem was that a key ingredient was left out of my dish which was rather disappointing!

Cosy little restaurant with a great selection of meals. The food reminded me of almost a home cooked style. Plenty of vegan options as well as gluten free. The meals were good sizes and served quite quickly. The desserts were the highlight of the evening. The staff were friendly and free bread is offered with olive oil and balsamic. The meals are reasonably priced.

Slightly over priced for what it was, but very nice thought out veggie food, service was welcoming, place was a little shabby but overall pleasant. As its no longer on tastecard probably would not go back again.

Food and service excellent as ever. Our mains were delicious, and the bread and butter pudding with apricots and white chocolate went down a storm.

After seeing some positive reviews I have to say this was a real let down - and an expensive one at that.

Food delicious and beautifully presented, house wine very good and service excellent - very attentive, without being rushed. If I was being picky, it could be a bit warmer!

Carnevale is one of those restaurants where you realise (usually) only when the food arrives what a great decision you made to eat there. It's a place where substance trumps style: the focus on flavours is what makes it so good.

The food was great with good service in and a lovely environment. All round great experience. I would highly recommend to vegetarians and meat-eaters alike!

Delicious food, very tasty and well-presented. Excellent fast and friendly service. Good wine selection and fresh mint tea to finish. Highly recommended - my favourite restaurant in the area.

Excellent food, excellent service, delightful atmosphere and convenient location for Barbican etc. The salads are large and tasty; main courses are diverse and beautifully presented.

The venue is a little on the small side but the variety and choice of vegi food on the menu is pretty good. There is a nice selection of starters and mains all served promptly in good sized portions. It's definately worth a visit

I started with pumpkin gnocchi in roasted garlic cream, which was the most delicious sauce of its type that I have ever tasted. My main course was a chickpea, lentil and spinach curry which was exactly the right intensity, Washed down with an organic red wine and followed by Americano coffee with soya milk. A perfect meal, reasonably priced and attentively served, in delightful premises.

Excellent veggie tapas selection compared to others. Particular highlights were the broccoli and the artichoke. Rice could have been seasoned a little more but a minor quibble. Fair value. Good service, friendly and a nice atmosphere l.
