Very lovely people and good food. busy on a saturday night on the day after chines new year and they were still on top of it. a 5 rather than a 6 only because out table was quite large four our party of 4 & my chair was in the passage way so people and waiters would knock into it a few time, which is not very pleasant. Otherwise, a really good place.

Great service and lovely food and easy to get to on the tram. Best ribs I have ever tasted . Would definitely go back when in Edinburgh

Food good but accosted on way out asking if we had paid! Twice we were asked loudly when we getting our coats. Disappointing and won’t go back

The service was good. The food however not as good as it used to be: the pork was not cooked enough and was almost raw which might be dangerous as well as it is disgusting! We used to eat there several times a year but won’t go there anymore.

Meal was superb, certainly no micro used, so you have to wait for perfection, but it is worth it! Wine list very extensive. Staff attentive and friendly.

Excellent food, very friendly and efficient staff, always a favourite when visiting Edinburgh. Found the restaurant by chance many years ago and would not eat Chinese food anywhere else.

Arrived at restaurant and table was not available offered to wait on two chairs opposite toilets. We declined as they had no idea how long we would wait.

Food was excellent but service was a bit slow. But would come again no problem..Nice friendly atmosphere. Location was easy to walk to and 5nibs walk to shops .

Nice restaurant and good service, however, a couple of the dishes were very disappointing. The satay sauce with the scallops was very runny and not very satay tasting and was two scallops sliced in half so expensive for what we got and the kungpo king prawn was bland and having eaten this enough times it wasn't a kungpo. Other dishes were very good so perhaps we were unlucky.

Lovely meal , nice atmosphere in restaurant. Staff very nice towards you . Took my sister out for Xmas meal she enjoyed this and we are gooing again near Xmas .

Booked for myself and 7 work colleagues from TripAdvisor reviews and proximity to our accommodation. From the time we arrived the staff were very friendly and attentive. Great menu with plenty of choice. Service was perfect and the food absolutely fantastic. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Brilliant Best Chinese in Edinburgh A must try for anyone in town

Great food and company in a beautiful setting. But the staff made it perfect with their warmth and humour. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

All 8 of us enjoyed a good meal and good service at China Town. However, the a la carte menu is huge so 6 of us ordered the set menu for 6 as an easier option. That way we got to taste several different dishes - my only criticism of this was that the amount of rice served to all 8 of us was definitely not equivalent to 8 individual portions. But the food was good, though not out of the ordinary, the set menu price seemed fairly reasonable, and the 2 who ordered separately from the a la carte menu also enjoyed their meal choices. We also consumed a few beers and 3 bottles of wine, so overall a good evening was had by all!

Very good Chinese food. Attentive and kind staff. Many menu options available that cover all angles and taste preferences. We all enjoyed our meal. The soups were excellent.

We have been to China town many times and the food never falls below excellent, service warm and welcoming and the atmosphere very homely I would recommend this restaurant.

This is the only Chinese Restaurant we would recommend. Since finding this have not been to any other.

Best Chinese restaurant ever. Good food-Good staff & Good atmosphere.

Dining at the China Town restaurant was an excellent experience in every respect. The welcome was friendly, both from the very charming owners and from all of the other staff; and the service perfect - attentive without ever being intrusive. The food was superb - all very fresh and delicious - and in very generous portions; and the wine list is well-chosen to complement Chinese food and is very reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant, whether for a casual meal or for a special occasion, very highly indeed.

The menu was extensive, food was served with flair and tasted delicious. All staff were attentive, but not intrusive. Atmosphere was perfect the night we went for dinner with friends who were visiting from Australia.

We have been dining here for over 20 year at Atholl Place and also at Newington. Our family all lice coming and eating here. The food and service are brilliant.

Good food and excellent service. Staff were attentive and helpful. It was pouring with rain when we left and they quite happily ordered a taxi.
