Food is quite good. However we arrived at 9h50 pm on Saturday evening and we had the impression to be a nuisance. We had to order very quickly, decide the dessert on the fly without having the chance to look at the menu, and at 10h45 they brought the not-yet-asked-for bill and started removing everything from our table, a clear invitation to leave. The bill had a (theoretically optional) 12% fee automatically charged as 'service' or enforced tip. I do not think we will go again.
Very nice atmosphere. Very nice staff. Very nice Japanese sake, and food was real Japanese. (Not the fake one) Price was quite high, but can accept if we will have proper nice Japanese Sake.
Fantastic food, friendly staff.... you can't ask for much more! Love your deep fried soft shell crab rolled inside out with sesame seeds. Always leave with a smile on my face : )
The food was fine nothing special... the staff was very polite...at a great location and relatively cheap for a Japanese restaurant... a great value for money
Food was really good but more variety of sushi should have been served ideally. And I found restaurant was a little bit noisy occupied with people at lunch time.
Great food and service as always. Visited with the same friend I've been with before and we both really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back!
The service was brilliant, though it should be they put a £6 service charge on it. I also got 1 plate of Sashimi for £54 which was absolutely disgusting. It suprised me because it smelt so nice when I went in there. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish for my taste buds!
Fabulous.. Food and ambience.. A tranquil hideaway from the craziness and croissant of Oxford Circus. Truely lovely place to catch up with an old friend
Set in a great location there was perfect service, great food at great value. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant for business or romantic meetings!
The food is ok but the portion is too small for the price.
Food was good but we were seated near the door so had big gusts of cold air blowing in every few minutes. They forgot one of the dishes we ordered, and cleared away our plates and cutlery before our food finished arriving. No cocktail list either. Ok but not a great dining experience.
Loves food as usual Very friendly and helpful staff Will go back again!
Authentic Japanese cuisine. Good choice of Sake's. Sashimi, Miso Soup and Soba noodles outstanding. Probably the best Japanese cuisine I have had outside Japan. Expensive bur then you get what you pay for.
Lovely place for lunch, nice and quiet with attentive knowledgeable staff. Helped me make gluten free choices and had gluten free tamari sauce! The minced chicken meatballs were delicious. Definitely going back
The staff were attentive without being intrusive and were knowledgeable about the food when I asked them questions. The food was fantastic. What more can you ask for?
Brilliant recommendation! Fantastic and fresh sushi, gyoza and a lovely amuse bouche served to us to begin our meal. We sat outside which was perfect on a sunny day.
Food was great, Sashimi were fresh, friendly staff, very pleasure experience. Price was reasonable. Love their dessert - Yuzu sorbet was lovely! Will definitely go back again!
Delicious fresh sushi. Lunch bento box is very good value considering quality
The sashimi was excellent, so fresh!!! Probably one of the best japanese restaurant in Mayfair. Highly recommend if you want to eat some delicious sashimi or sushi!
Lovely food and great service. Really rate this Japanese restaurant
The food was delicious and the service was great too, but the restaurant needs a bit of a paint job and refurbish to align with the high standard of food and service. The bathrooms weren't much either, which is a pity as it would make all the difference.
Very nice staff, very good food. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. There is such a wide choice of courses, and very well produced also.
Always great good service good food highly recommend to all
Great food and good service but be aware of the premium price. One of the few places in London with chawan mushi. First time there? Always pick at least one item from the Chef's specials.
The food was very good, izakaya style. However the service was a bit stressful, they were very much in a rush. But overall would highly recommend.
We both had the lunch menu of, very fresh and delicious, sashimi which came with a salad and miso. The service was efficient and friendly and the whole experience enjoyable, great value also!
Great service, good food definitely worth a visit if you like Japanese
Great sushi restaurant in an ideal location slightly off the buzz of the main street. Staff and food totally met our expectations. We'll be back again.
Perfect our table was ready and the food was excellent
Fantastic experience and the black cod was particularly delicious. Fresh, inventive sushi and great small plates. Servers were extremely thoughtful and attentive through the meal.
The restaurant Just a short walking distance from Oxford Station, quite easy to find. It serves delicious authentic Japanese food at mid-range prices, especially "Chef Recomended" Menu, must try one or two dishes. Restaurant is clean, simple decoration and hostess are friendly.
Excellent food if a little expensive (but consider the location). The sashimi is the best I know in London and there is a wide range of sake. Highly recommended.
Service was poor. Drinks order was incorrect. Food took an hour to arrive. Manager apologised and offered us a free drink but food still took an additional 15 minutes from this point. Food was delivered to wrong table (who ate it). Surely it doesn't take an hour to make some avocado rolls? I could have made them myself. Restaurant was not overly busy. Staff were very surprised that we were still paying for the meal. Food was nice when it did arrive though.
We had a great time there on the night. They gave us a good customer service such as topping up beer at our table or changing plates swiftly. I really enjoyed the food as well.
great restaurant, food was amazing, atmosphere was great... I used this restaurant for a business lunch and the guys said is was great and would definitely recommend it, we will be going back for sure!
Great food, great service, consistently good experience. I was able to book a table at short notice and even managed to change the time of the original booking over the phone. The staff at the restaurant were very nice, and the food was very fresh and tasty as always. One of the best Japanese restaurants in London.
Food was amazing and had stood time, will return again
beautiful food; the best chicken teriyaki I have had! Uni sushi was delicious..Sake complemented meal well; it was a good suggestion form our waitress. will return for more sushi in the future..
Service as usual was prompt and efficient. Food also was of the usual high standard. I work in the next street and Chisou is certainly my favourite restaurant in this area.
Fantastic evening - they had paid attention to my seating request on my reservation and we had a great table, the food was excellent and the wait staff delightful. I had mentioned it was a birthday reservation and they even - unasked - put a candle in a pudding and sang, which was sweet. Unbeatable selection of sake - had the most wonderful fragrant, plummy one. Good umeshu too.
