Although the atmosphere and the ambience is funky and lovely the food is average and the service is pretty bad.

Lovely! Food was delicious. Bigger portions than you’d think for a “small plates” place. We’ll definitely be back.

We arrived 20 minutes earlier than our allotted reservation time but we were seated after about 5 minutes which was lovely. Then we ordered around another 5 minutes later and were kept waiting up to 1 hour before the order was served to our table. They offered free chai as a means to the waiting - which we accepted. They then forgot one of the mains and then rather than taking another hour (potentially) we decided to pay and leave. Instead of waiting for another hour for one more dish. The service level was very disappointing and although they offered the tea I’m not happy with the waiting time as the restaurant wasn’t that busy but it seemed like they were short staffed. Food wasn’t that great to taste neither. The Chicken wrap was very oily. Will not be visiting again.

It was our first visit to Chit Chaat Chai. We loved the decor, the bright colours on white, the photographs on the peg-board. The food was quite good, nothing was "wow!" We thought the prices were quite high. The service was friendly and smooth, the waiters attentive. The hard floors, walls and lack of curtains meant that the noise levels rose as the evening went on, to the extent that we had to continue our evening at the pub.

Good food, great bread, but excessively loud, clubby music and dirty floors

Food is ok and tailored for the western palate . The samosa chaat was mediocre , the samosa tasted like Shaan brand oven samosa’s with chaat spices that were not authentic . The beetroot patty was nice . It is trying to be like Dishoom , and is ok . Worth a visit , but would not go again .

Amazing food, Would be a perfect score if waitress was slightly less moody throughout our experience. However this might have had something to do with having to work on valentines day...

We had a great time at Chit Chaat Chai! The food was great and the service was lovely. It's obviously a very popular and busy place, so we did have to wait for our table, but we didn't mind and our food was very quick to the table once ordered. We regularly order take away for here and the food is always spot on.

Delish and a great environment. Good find and will definitely go back again. Only downside was that all the food arrived all at once would have been nice to have staffers

They were understaffed because someone had called in sick but that was no excuse. Service was absymal and unapologetic. Small portions and food did not taste authentic indian. Would not return.

Loved the pao bhaji but rest of the items were pretty average. Not the typical desi taste. Ambience was average too. Not worth the hype to be honest.

Love the food and customer service! Especially recommend the okra fries and prawn curry. Must try a cocktail with your dinner. I liked the pineapple gin.
