Delicious food as usual. Love the flavours & Dhosas are always a treat. Really helpful friendly staff.

Home cooked south indian food in a family resteraunt. Good vegetarian dishes and dosa's. You can taste the individual spices. Would recommend the food and friendly service.

The food is always excellent but the service last night was really slow. It was not very busy but I guess they were short staffed. It is a good place to eat, and an excellent South Indian menu.

Great meal. Authentic Southern Indian cuisine cooked and presented very well. Homely resteraunt with attentive staff who will explain the dishes to you if you are unsure. Highly recommended.

Fabulous authentic Southern Indian food. Attentive staff. Cosy location. If you are unsure of the menu the staff will explain it to you. This was not our first visit. The food is always well cooked and presented.

The food was excellent and definitely the best Indian meal I’ve had outside India. Saji the maitre d’hote was very attentive welcoming and we will certainly return and recommend coconut lagoon to friends.

First time here although just round the corner, great restaurant, great food, helpful staff. Went on a cold Thur's night, quiet at first but became nicely busy, got our order in early, will definitely go again soon.

Exquisite dishes, beautifully served. This is a special place. We followed the advice of one of the staff members who recommended a fish dish-- a whole fish wrapped in a palm leaf. Delicious!

Very good vegetarian dishes. Chicken dish less good; the meat pieces seemed too dry, under their sauce. Attentive service. I would visit again, hoping to pick the best from the large menu.

We were greeted by a helpful member of staff who attended to all our needs throughout the meal. The food was excellent, especially for the coeliac member of our party. We would highly recommend this restaurant to those requiring gluten free food and those able to eat normally.

Delicious food: exquisitely cooked. Delightful service. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Marvellous! Fish dishes are subtle and interesting. Breads beyond compare! Coconuts in the window add a special touch!

Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Had heard about Kerala cuisine on a TV programme and this was our first experience of it. Absolutely fantastic. Not the dishes that you would normally find in an Indian restaurant. Nice restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Quite a different menu from usual, or maybe Scottish Indian restaurants. Food was okay, but service poor, can't really say it was a particularly wonderful experience.

Friendly staff and excellent South Indian food. Very good for anyone on a gluten free diet. Any menu item with wheat flour is clearly described. Delicious rice bread. Quite different from the run-of-the -mill Indian food that can be eaten almost everywhere.

Delicious! Never had food from this region of India before and it was really different and the flavours were superb! Plus a cardamom beer to wash it down. Recommend!

Delicious, unusual flavours and tastes - different from most other curry houses. Particularly enjoyable was the Chicken Kadai Curry, and the refreshing Cardamon Beer - really tasty. Friendly service on a busy Saturday night. Thank you Coconut Lagoon team.

Nice environment, great service and REALLY tasty food - quite different flavours from previous indian meals we have had. The portions were very generous so, next time we go, I think we might try three courses - but share them between us. Looking forward to going again.

Fantastic authentic vegetarian thali. Attentive and helpful staff. Will definitely eat there again and recommend to friends. They happily packaged up all we didn't eat so we could enjoy the remainder at home. The cardamom beer was delicious too.

Absolutely fantastic meal. The chef was so helpful and offered to make all the dishes separately due to my partner not being able to have onions. We had the thali which is about 8 small Indian dishes with rice, chapati and poppadom. You also got ice cream for desert included in the price. Will definitely be returning.

This was our third visit to Coconut Lagoon and won't be our last. The food is wonderful, very different to the standard "Indian" restaurant. The service could improve as we weren't offered desert, extra drinks or tea/coffee after the meal.

Food as great as ever but the place was freezing. When we came in the radiator was called and even though they said it had been turned on stayed called. People were eating with their coats on. If the heating was broken down - the radiator at the back seemed to be working but not in the front - they should not have opened up that evening. We struggled to enjoy ourselves with cold feet and cold hands

Authentic and delicious South Indian food. Several dishes are highly recommended: meen pollichathu (spicy fish on banana leaf), poori and dosas. Do also try the cardamom beer!

We had been here before over 12 months ago. What a difference a year makes. The service this time was poor with things not arriving not just for us but other guests too. The food is different to most Indian restaurants but did not tick many boxes.

Went here when in York for Christmas shopping. It is in a bit of an odd location with a bus stop just outside, and a bit of a garish sign. But once inside and eating it was fab. Brilliant food, great service, this place is a hidden gem!
