Fabulous meal,lovely setting and very nice waitress couldn’t do enough for us.

Highly recommend the Haggis bon bons and the roast lamb it was absolutely delicious. Staff were very attentive

We went to Cooks tonight to celebrate our one year anniversary. It is the restaurant attached to our wedding venue. The food was lovely though we ate too much. The service was great and the place had a buzz without being crowded. Have been before and will again.

The meal was okay. We all enjoyed it but it was nothing special. I had the seafood linguine and for the cost it was disappointing. 3 large prawns and a number of tiny whelks I presumed. 2 flakes of white fish and 1 piece of calimari. My son had the same dish and had 1 flake of white fish and no calimari. He said it should have been called a prawn linguine. Tasted nice BUT I was expecting to be WOWed. It was my daughters 18th and we wanted it to be special. Not one of the waiting team wished her happy birthday nor made any fuss it was her 18th. Again, perhaps my expectations were too high of Cooks Overall meal was okay. Would I return, probably not. Staff on the day were pleasant but we all felt lacked the finer customer service skills expected in a restaurant the standard of Cooks.

We used a Groupon voucher for the steak meal. It was cooked to perfection as usual. Service is great, staff very polite and friendly. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Booked table for 5pm arrived at 4.50pm Asked for express menu which I had earlier phoned to ask when it finished was told 5pm. Waitress said they stop serving it at 4.50pm (we where there at that time ) and gave us the a la carte menu . We did say we where on time for the express menu she said by the time I take your order ,give it to the kitchen it will be 5pm. She knew we where not happy about this and went to kitchen then came back with express menu. The food was perfect couldn't fault it. You have to clarify you don't actually offer this menu until 5pm but 4.50pm , then when you arrive at 4.50pm you will be given Al a cart menu and hope you don't question it.

My first visit to Cook’s but reservation made on the advice of my guests. Seamless booking with reminder, friendly welcome with clear reference to the booking and pre-assigned table. Food was great and requests were accommodated with ease. They’ll be back and will continue to sing your praises, as will I when I next visit the area.

Had another lovely tasty meal at one of my local favourite restaurant’s and tried the steak pie for a change. The meat was lovely and tender to definitely on my list of choices for here. It’s god a warm friendly atmosphere and the staff are helpful.

Although a limited menu for the special offer there was still plenty of choice. The food was very tasty. The staff were amazing they are so efficient and friendly.

The staff were really nice no fault there but the food just wasn’t very good at all. Don’t think we’ll be back :-(

I had another nice meal at this restaurant and went with my usual choice of the chicken and katsu sauce. The chicken is the star as it a fresh chicken breast in a tasty coating so hard to not choose it even though there are lots of choice so maybe on another visit I will try something else. The restaurant is warm and inviting so would give it a try if you’re in this area.

We had the express menu and were very impressed with the quality of the food and the value for money. The staff were polite and friendly and they were good at checking if certain items on the menu could be made gluten free
