Great lunch. With two people lactose intolerant the chef had kindly gone through his menu and ticked which dishes would be best to have.... even before we had arrived. Attentive service. Nice food. Nice place.
Excellent. Lovely food and staff. Very nice atmosphere. Will definitely return
Cornish Tiger is a terrific advertisement for fusion dining, to use an overworked and perhaps slightly old-fashioned term. Their combination of English ingredients and delicately Levantine flavours works wonderfully. The staff are friendly and welcoming, offering just the right level of service. And, joy of joys, the cheese board is the same price as the desserts.
The service is always attentive and friendly. All four of us loved our starters and mains, and we all ordered different things. This is a lovely restaurant!
Went to Cornish Tiger in Clapham and loved it! I had never been before but a friend and I have a regular lunch date and always try somewhere new, and this had got excellent reviews so we thought we'd give it a go. We both ordered from the special set two or three-course menu and the food was delicious, and the service was top notch too. The only odd thing was that we were the only diners in there (it was a Wednesday lunchtime) so I can't comment too much on the atmosphere - though we liked the décor - but I imagine it must be a buzzy place when it's full. I'd definitely eat there again, and if you haven't tried it yet, go!
Delicious fine cooked food at great value in a relaxed local setting. Service was impeccable too.
Really lovely place with gorgeous food and very charming staff. I'd recommend the chickpea fritters for starters and the Portuguese rose wine was delicious. We'll definitely be going back home
The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and courteous throughout service. I would recommend here, nice food and atmosphere and I will be visiting again soon.
Very good food and friendly accommodating service. Can't ask much more from a local restaurant. Will definitely return.
Excellent food and service, good value and nice atmosphere. Will definitely go again
Service was good, not excellent, with one item being mistakenly delivered even though it was not ordered. The food was really overpriced. I would expect a restaurant at this price point to give free bread or olives, and not charge £3.50 (each). The main dishes were good though not very creative, and again, very overpriced. I will not be returning.
This visit was intended as a treat for two young (ish) relatives. They, and we, were very impressed by the quality and the originality of the food. We had an excellent wine and drank rather more than we would ordinarily have done! The service was very good.
Nice buzzy restaurant. Food was good although one dish had to be sent back as it wasn't cooked properly. However, a replacement was immediate and the staff were very helpful.
This was our first visit and would definitely recommend it. The food was good and very tasty. Some things were surprisingly spicy which wasn't mentioned on the menu so if you're not into heat i'd suggest asking the waitress first (ours was very good at explaining the menu). Only issue was our cote de boeuf. I was having a cheat night after dieting for weeks and was wanting an indulgent treat so opted to share the Chefs recommended Cote De Boeuf with my fiancé. Sadly it was a big disappointment- whilst it was well seasoned and looked perfectly cooked it was tough and the meat tasteless. The bone (normally a bonus and good fun to gnaw on) was sinewy and impossible to get anything from. In fairness to the staff we didn't mention this until after we'd paid (and just mentioned it in passing as constructive criticism) they were very apologetic and said they would have replaced it had we asked. Two others in our group had the rib eye which was out of this world! Overall a nice meal and reasonably priced
Great place. Pretty, tasty food. Good service and nice atmosphere.
they have extremely friendly and helpful staff, the food was outstanding.
We had the lamb Sunday roast. It was amazing. And the puddings didn't disappoint either! Highly recommend.
This is my favourite restaurant in the area. The combination of good food at very reasonable prices creates great value. Try the lunch time set menu, it's even better value! Why the place isn't overflowing at mid day is beyond me. The menu is always interesting, great use of spices in many dishes, the home made soups are always tasty and served with great presentation and I've never had any complaints with the fish. Much effort goes into sourcing their meat and fish, largely from Cornwall. What's not to like about that! What I particularly like is that the fish is never overcooked and you always have that lovely translucent sheen between the muscle blocks. Good steaks (which they will look on the griddle or, if you don't like that way of cooking, in a pan or under a grill). I've even tried the odd vegetarian dish - sampled off my daughter's plate :) which I also surprisingly enjoyed being something of a dedicated carnivore. They have an interesting wine selection (try the white PX as an aperitif - it's dry!) with some good entry level bottles and many others at various price points. I like the interesting range of Belgium-style bottled beers and they serve excellent espresso! What's not to like.
This is the third time I've been to Cornish Tiger and I have loved it every time. The set menu at £9.95 for two courses is brilliant value for money and a glass of Brut for £4.95 is superb value too. The food is good quality, the portion sizes are generous, and the service is top notch. Interior is stylish and the seating is comfortable. I'm a huge fan of this place and I keep bringing new friends with me each time I visit.
Calm and comfortable setting and lovely, personalised service from who I think was the manager. Sunday menu had a good variety on it. We both had roasts and they were delicious; just a little too much fat on meat for our liking. It was a special birthday so I informed them beforehand and they brought us complimentary bubbles; a thoughtful gesture. Would definitely like to return to try the weekly menu. A sure recommendation.
Really good food and set meal great value. Friendly staff too.
I went there with my boyfriend for a Sunday lunch. He said it was the best roast beef he's ever had. They cook it for 24 hours and it really shows, it's extremely tender. It's not as cheap as other places, sure, but considering the quality of the meat they are serving, I wouldn't say it's expensive at all (the roast beef with vegetables and potatoes was £16).
Really tasty food and good service. I would recommend a visit !
Everything about the meal was perfect. They offer a wonderful menu and we had a wonderful meal! I would eat there again in a heartbeat.
A friendly restaurant, with food up to a high standard - and good value for money by local standards. This will be one of our regulars
Great for Sunday with good range of options including roasts. Nice house wine and desserts were especially good with the rice pudding being my favourite
Great service and delicious food. The risotto was amazing! Only reason for 5 instead of 6 is that the tables are pretty packed in and I had to keep moving to let people get to the table behind me. will still be going back though.
Good service, good food, good value for money with 3 courses for £12 before 7pm!
Cornish Tiger was a real pleasure. From the decor and service to the food and general ambience I could not fault it. Our lunch at £37 per head ( including the wine) was good value (especially for the set price menu of £11.95 for three courses) with an interesting selection including plenty of fish, but fine for meat eaters too, and a couple of good vegetarian options.
fantastic friendly service with some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten!
Awful coffee !!! I was told their coffee machine needed and an engineer to repair it. beef roast very fatty, very small sliver of salmon. Over priced
Excellent! You need to order sides though but very good value all the same!
Huge thanks to all the staff at Cornish Tiger who pulled out the stops and helped make my birthday dinner party celebration truly wonderful! The food and service were exemplary and the evening went brilliantly.
Interesting menu, very enjoyable food. Friendly and attentive service. Well worth a visit.
We had a really great evening. Set menu wasn't as good as the a la carte. But the service was impeccable and the food really well presented plus tasty!
Awesome. Birthday party with 70 guests. Manager and Chef were wonderful in helping organise and manage the guests and all the late changes. Staff were excellent. Food great, wine great, birthday cake fabulous. Would definitely book again.
My friend and I had a fabulous dinner at Cornish Tiger. The food was delicious, the service very good and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely be returning.
Good service, great food, nothing to fault. Good service, great food, nothing to fault. Good service, great food, nothing to fault. Good service, great food, nothing to fault.
Great food and good value offer on set menu pre 7pm. Service was very good and food was lovely. Would definitely come back to this restaurant.
The menu offers excellent choice, and everything we've ever had (we've been there many times) was prepared perfectly! The staff are friendly and attentive. My only suggestion to the management is to pick better music to suit the lovely ambiance!
