My wife's soup didn't come out with the starters. Server didn't mention the option of sauces to go with the steak. The steak lacked flavour. Management were really good.

I had booked a table for 6 and when we arrived there were only 5, we waited 45 minutes to get our first drink - 55 minutes to get our starters (of breads and olives) and as soon as we received the breads our mains were brought to the table - we sent the mains back and were questioned over what were our actual starters as we are only earning bread?! Too little staff on duty to service the customers.

We were a group of 13 ladies for a get together. We all misread the time on the prestige menu. We all thought it was available only until 7 but that applies only to Fridays. So we all chose from the prestige menu and enjoyed our meals. Service was perfectly fine, once our order was taken. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived so we had to wait quite a while before anyone came to take our order.

Very disappointing first visit to the new Cote in Basingstoke. Unimaginative food and the cold meat starter was truly dreadful - just tasted of fat. I ordered an apple tart for dessert and was given a lemon tart. We won't be rushing back.

6 guests for an evening meal on a bank holiday. Starters were fine, no complaints. Waitress was attentive as was the manager when we arrived. Main course, 4 not a problem. Mine was fish and plate was stone cold as was the veg but fish was hot. I sent it back and it arrived hot and the fish was excellent. My fellow guest had a sirloin on his plate and it should have been ribeye, it went back and sure enough another steak arrived this time i5 was cooked rare but stone cold in the middle. This time it was decided not to bother. The manager did come and talk to us and did his utmost to please us and rectify a bad situation. I think he excelled and will certainly go back for that very reason. I would also recommend this restaurant to my friends too.

Great food and service but I do not agree with the pre-added 12.5% service charge. The restaurant will say you can remove it as it is optional but why should the customer be put in this position. A shame this put a dampener on an otherwise good experience. This will put me off returning.

Served 3 courses in 55 minutes( obviously wanted us out for a later sitting!!) not my idea of a night out . would have gone to Mac D if I wanted fast food. Noise level very bad real turn off. Shame as decor was nice , food very good and people were lovely. needs to improve for me to return as not cheap.

Lovely menu with something for everyone, Food was beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. We had 2 starters and 2 mains from the Al a Carte which were huge. 1 set menu which was a little smaller but I still couldn’t finish the main course.Service was great - thanks Archie. Cote was recommended to me by 2 friends - definitely worth a visit. We will be going back,

As always a very enjoyable lunch. A warm welcome from happy and efficient staff. My wife and I ordered from the "Premium" set menu. Different "starters" were excellent and then both ordered the roast belly pork which is consistently delicious. A reasonably priced (for restaurants) bottle of wine made a great accompaniment to the meal. Another attraction is the ambience of the restaurant, pleasant hum of conversation with no intrusive voices. A pleasurable experience all round.

I visited Côte for the first time with friends over the Easter weekend. It was difficult to choose from the menu as there are plenty of delicious dishes to choose from. When the food arrived we weren’t disappointed. Just delicious and well worth the money. The service was good overall and my only complaint would be that we had to prompt for the desert menu and bill. I will definitely be back as cannot wait to try some of the other dishes on the menu and introduce to other friends and family.

So glad to have discovered Cote as just what Festival Place needed. Friendly helpful service from the minute I arrived and a real 'buzz' about the place as it was almost full on a Thursday night and a lovely atmosphere with dim lighting hallelujah! Delicious moules and steak frites and the service was slick without being too overly attentive so a lovely evening had by all.

Unfortunately on this occasion, we, that is all 3 guests. were all very dissapointed with your Basingstoke team. I booked within plenty of time to ensure our placement in the restaurant. We ended up next to the door, next to the Bar/Coffee preparation area, in turn next to the staff social area. Your team should be aware, direct bookings should be given priority, we did not casually wander in, We made the effort, so should you.................. Also, Your team placed dessert/coffee menu's on our table. then never returned. We did not stay.

I have booked a table for 2 at 2pm on Easter Monday and we arrived just before. The restaurant was quite buys, but we were still offered a choice of tables. We were very happy with the overall experience; the service from all the staff was very good (but especially David). We had a voucher for two complimentary kir royale, which started us off well. We enjoyed the food - my wife's main course was haddock with pea puree and she said the puree was quite sweet. I had the veal T-bone and it was very tasty, but perhaps a little under seasoned.

The service was appalling the waitress stretched across the table causing us to lean into each other. The waitress was rude and quite abrupt. She was hurrying us through the courses. The acoustics were shocking. It was so loud in the restaurant. We were a round table of four an we couldn't hear each other.

Food was good. Service was ok but got the distinct impression that we weren't working to the staff's timeframes. Also the staff were strangely disengaged; no eye contact or smiles and they kept cutting across our conversation to ask us things. I know it's difficult not to do that to some extent but there was no hesitation, just straight in with what they needed to say or do. Also, please (please!) consider bucking the trend for hard lines without any soft furnishings to buffer the noise. Very difficult in most restaurants to have a conversation and your restaurant is the same. It will put me off going to you again, particularly at busy times.
