Côte Basingstoke

We have done as a couple and a large group and felt very looked after. The food is lovely and the staff so helpful. My mother-in-law chose Cote brasserie for her 86th birthday because she enjoyed it the first time

1st time we have visited your restaurant and after eating here we will definitely be coming back. Food was top notch and the staff were friendly and attentive.

My wife's soup didn't come out with the starters. Server didn't mention the option of sauces to go with the steak. The steak lacked flavour. Management were really good.

Pleasant staff, good service, excellent food. Glad to have a branch of this restaurant in Basingstoke. Look forward to many more meals here - thanks very much

Great birthday meal. Waiting staff excellent particularly Emily lovely, friendly, attentive what more could you ask for. Will return again and again, our new favourite place to go!

It was wonderful! Every detail I added to my request was fulfilled and everything was lovely. The service especially was brilliant. Especially the manager. I'm not sure what her name was but she is lovely! thank you so much for making it such a special evening for us. Think we will become regular's :)

Very good food and service. Extremely busy so was expecting a delay. We did book our table but it wasn’t quite ready but only a short wait. There is no where to wait so you have to stand by the door which isn’t great.

I’ve been to Cote on several occasions now and have always had a great experience. Staff are attentive and friendly and the food is always exquisite. Would highly recommend. Book well in advance!

First time at the Basingstoke Cote and not disappointed. We chose from the special menu and enjoyed a complimentary glass of Kir Royale which was really appreciated

6 guests for an evening meal on a bank holiday. Starters were fine, no complaints. Waitress was attentive as was the manager when we arrived. Main course, 4 not a problem. Mine was fish and plate was stone cold as was the veg but fish was hot. I sent it back and it arrived hot and the fish was excellent. My fellow guest had a sirloin on his plate and it should have been ribeye, it went back and sure enough another steak arrived this time i5 was cooked rare but stone cold in the middle. This time it was decided not to bother. The manager did come and talk to us and did his utmost to please us and rectify a bad situation. I think he excelled and will certainly go back for that very reason. I would also recommend this restaurant to my friends too.

Excellent in all respects. We enjoyed the food which was of very good quality.The Prestige menu offered a good choice.Service was friendly and efficient.Will definitely be back.

Meal with friends to celebrate a birthday and retirement. The food was delicious with very attentive service in nice surroundings - but incredibly noisy! Difficult to hold a conversation!

Couldn’t fault it. The service was impeccable from the moment you walked into the restaurant. One of our party is a coeliac and he was catered for perfectly. 100% would reccomend!

Beautiful meal today as always, service was good and not very busy today so nice and peaceful.

The food was absolutely delicious, we had Moules and Fougasse to start, followed by Sirloin Steak and Cod Goujons for main. We couldn’t fault it in any way. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the restaurant was very clean, Only negative was, perhaps there could be slightly more space between tables, you are very close to the table next to you. But other than that, amazing evening and would happily go back again.

We had a fantastic meal with amazing service. Highly recommend Cote Brasserie as a great place for lunch or dinner. Great value for money, we will defiantly go back for more.

Prompt service and great food and importantly hot food too! Lovely decor and friendly and pleasant atmosphere. This was our third visit and we will be visiting again soon.

We thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. The food is very similar to the excellent food we enjoy in Paris when we visit! A couple of occasions I've had to chase drinks orders, but that's the only negative thing I can say! My daughter, girlfriend and I thoroughly rate this place and we intend to keep returning!

My wife and I often visit Cotes in Farnham and Guildford, today we came to Basingstoke for some light shopping and breakfast.. We do enjoy a lovely breakfast at your restaurant, but today the service was really poor, and the food very disappointing, compared to previous experiences.. food was luke warm and lacked any taste.. Sadly for us, we won't be visiting this restaurant again!

The Food and Service was excellent from all the staff. In terms of value for money you have to equate this to the quality of the food you are ordering. It’s not in the same price category as some of the nearby restaurants, then again you are not ordering Chicken and Chips or Pizza. There was a noisy large group on a nearby table when we were in so at times it was hard to hear conversations. Also, in winter don't sit near the door as there can be a cold draft when it opens. We deliberately sat round the back away from the door. Will we be going there again, Yes.

Delcious food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and good attentive service. The complimentary gin and tonics on arrival were a very nice touch. Will definitely visit again soon.

I have visited Cote several times, usually my breakfast is excellent - however today it was presented cold, this was probably down to the plates not being hot when the food was placed on them. This tarnished my experience today unfortunately. Regards Peter

Incredibly disappointing - this is our second visit and both times were poor. Tonight my dinner was cold and had to be sent back. Service was poor - staff were busy chatting at the bar, whilst customers, including us, were waiting to be served. Tables weren't cleared and the floor was left dirty. My dinner was not deducted from the bill even though my companion and I both ate separately. When we asked for the service charge to be removed even that didn't trigger a response from the management team. It was only when I asked to see the manger, who had gone home at 10.15, that something happened. They did try to make it up to us, but am left feeling I am not sure I want to go back.

Food was excellent as usual - Service was also exceptional Salvatore is an amazing person and he makes you feel like at home - He always exceeds all expectations as an employee I would see him as a Manager without any doubt .

We generally enjoy eating at Cote. Probably the best restaurant in Basingstoke town centre. However on this occasion the chicken we ordered was overcooked, tough and very dry.

Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I was celebrating my birthday so the server said she would give us 4 glasses of complimemtary kir royale. Me and my boyfriend said we dont drink but she bought 4 glasses anyway. In the end i paid the bill without looking at the items on the receipt only to find out they had charged us £ 19.50 for those kir royale. 5 stars for the server but 2 stars for overall experience cause the mess up cost me extra £19.50

Great service, fab with children. staff seemed to have improved since last time I was there. Did not feel rushed Easy to book online... also booking online we got a free cocktail. Did need to ask for it but they didn't hesitate to get it. would go again

Each visit to Cote Brasserie never seems to surprise me in a great way you know the staff and get know in a very busy restaurant that's a pleasant surprise manager Helan us with a kiss and always a few minutes to chat this we had a waitress called May the serves you just know she loves her job Just try yourself you won't be disappointed Thank you Cotes xx

Excellent food and service up to the point of getting the bill. We were charged for a bottle of wine that was supposed to be free and had to wait more than half an hour to pay.

Very enjoyable evening. Lovely food. Only complaint is that it was too loud, couldn't hear the waitress at all. Would certainly go again.

A nice meal after an afternoon of shopping. Perfect level of attention from the staff. No rush and relaxing. Quality of food is always good and a great variety of menu options.

Good service, food was OK but not quite up to the usual standard and the Valentine's Day menu was probably a little overpriced given the average quality of the food. Nonetheless we enjoyed a pleasant evening.

Too noisy. Like most restaurants who follow the current fashion if no body furnishings. It means there's nothing to muffle the noise. It's a shame as the food and service was excellent, as usual.

Delicious food with fabulous service. Visited twice in a week! Really nice restaurant with a great menu. So lovely to have this type of restaurant in Basingstoke, it’s always busy yet the service remains superb.

First visit, well impressed with service and quality of the food. Extensive food choice, very pleasant atmosphere. Visit was for a special occasion and we were not disappointed.

The evening started well. A free glass of bubbles for the birthday girl thanks. That was the only positive. Service was very slow considering it was a quiet Monday night. Took a while to take the food order. Food came out in good time. Fillet steak looked rather small. 2 of the guest are gluten free so we asked for seafood linguini but with risotto instead of the pasta. No problem great I thought! Risotto rice was very over cooked to the point you couldn't recognise the grains of rice. Took a while before mains were cleared. Dessert was dealt with in a timely manner but after dessert was served it was like we were forgotten. I noticed the supervisor going for a break with a cup of tea. Our empty dessert plates must have sat for 20 minutes until we had to wave to get attention to get the bill. The bill was wrong with extras that we didn't have like olives. Now she needed to change the bill which meant a longer wait because the supervisor wasn't anywhere to be seen. Finally the bill came back. Your 12.5% optional service charge is added to the bill already so not really optional unless you know to ask to have it removed. This for me is wrong unless large groups. I paid with the service charge only because I had lost the will to live by now. We left with dirty desert plates still on the table it was neither late of busy. When we got to the car one of the girls couldn't find her phone. Yes she left it in the restaurant so back she came to get it. Amazingly it was still there on the table along with all the dirty dessert plates but no staff even noticed that they had re-entered into the restaurant to collect anything. So for almost £150.00 for 4 people I would not call it value for money or good service. Kind of spoilt the birthday mood as we left feeling a little disappointed. Thanks. Graham.

Very nice meal although would say quite pricey . Staff very friendly and really good service . Waiting time for food was a lot quicker than expected. Second visit and a lot better than the first .

The staff are friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was of good quality. We also weren’t pressured to leave once we had finished our meal.

I visited Côte for the first time with friends over the Easter weekend. It was difficult to choose from the menu as there are plenty of delicious dishes to choose from. When the food arrived we weren’t disappointed. Just delicious and well worth the money. The service was good overall and my only complaint would be that we had to prompt for the desert menu and bill. I will definitely be back as cannot wait to try some of the other dishes on the menu and introduce to other friends and family.

Since it opened Cote has become our go-to restaurant in Basingstoke for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food and service is always excellent every time we visit. Staff are attentive even when busy and the atmosphere is typically French. Far better than any other restaurant in the town.

Great value, great service from nice people, great selection of food for all tastes, even the weirdos. Speedy too.

This was our second visit in as many weeks. The food choices are wide, but this does not compromise the high standards. The service was also brilliant, a caring approach and made us feel very welcome. We will be back again!

This was our first visit to Cote in Basingstoke and we were so impressed. Basingstoke really needed somewhere like this - a bit more upscale but still relaxed and enjoyable. The food was good but the service was outstanding. We were celebrating a significant birthday and were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly each, and the birthday girls were surprised with candles in their puddings. Our waiter went above and beyond to make the evening special. We will definitely be back very soon!
