Côte Basingstoke

We had booked a table for 4pm on Saturday ...on arriving we were met at the door and told to wait there whilst she went somewhere to check with the manager where we could sit ?? The restaurant was practically empty. After standing there for several minutes we were shown 2 very small tables (next to each other near the door )!that we could choose from ...I did point out restaurant was empty , but they were “our”seats .... we were then left for over 10 minutes and no one came to ask our drinks order ... however as we were sitting right next to the door we witnessed at least 2 other couples hoping to eat and each time they were left waiting whilst she went off out the back to “see” if they could have a table ! One couple were turned away and after much debate and discussion the other sat down .... still no one approached us for an order ... we then decided to leave and eat somewhere where “we felt wanted!” Not a very good first impression I’m afraid ,and with plenty of other choice nearby you will need to do better !

Excellent service which was personal and the atmosphere was perfect. Well recommended. Book in advance but it’s well worth the wait! 5* experience overall. Would definitely go back

Sadly the service has really dropped off in the last couple of weeks. Today I ordered a bottle of water and after 10 minutes I had to ask again. It then arrived with ice which I had said I did not want. The waiter tried to serve me the wrong main course. Inexperienced staff and maybe not enough of them. It’s a pity because the food is so good.

Very nice meal that was well presented, good quality and value for money. Good atmosphere and good service from waiting staff. Would recommend for any type of occasion.

Good food. Chicken only average. Worse thing was the lager. £4 for a small bottle and it was served warm. The soft drinks also came warm as did the water, so disappointing.

Everything was excellent I would highly recommend Cote Basingstoke. Staff were friendly and the food wonderful. I suggest you book in advance and get yourself there!!!

A very pleasant lunch today in Basingstoke. Food was good and the service was efficient and friendly. I will certainly book another meal at Cote and am happy to recommend.

The best restaurant in town by far. The Menu is full, varied and cooked to perfection. The staff are always busy and professional towards you. The restaurant it self is very well done out and roomy. There is a nice buzz about the place.

Rude reception from a member of staff who was really unhelpful and seemed totally uninterested in our custom. Lost 4 customers today and won’t be returning to the Basingstoke branch.

Friendly quick service and a delicious meal. Will definitely return very soon!

Sadly our first visit was spoilt by the wrong main dish being delivered and then eating while my guest had finished. Also a member of the team gave us the wrong info about a dish saying it had sauce When iT didn’t do was very hard to eat. I like Cote and was delighted that you’ve gone to Basingstoke .,.. just need a little more finess.

Excellent food a very high standard, good service and staff friendly, only downside I would pass comment on is that the tables are too close together.

We visit cote when ever we see on of there restaurants on our travels and find the service and food 100% Always such a friendly service and the food is always quilety.

Great place with a perfect atmosphere. Staff are all attentive and show a personality rather than being dull! Can't wait to come back.

One of the waitress staff was very rude, she forgot the ketchup and when we asked for it she brought it over and didn't apologise. We asked for some drinks and only took our sons drink order and then walked off. We were left very disappointed with the service from that young lady! She was sent from your Farnham branch we were told

Staff were excellent and attentive even though the restaurant was very busy the cheffing was outstanding well done the kitchen for the hard work in keeping everything to time with delicious food Definitely recommend and will be back a big well done to the whole team at Cotes

The staff were very nice and efficient. unfortunately, due to our table position my friends chair kept being knocked when staff were walking past behind her.

Great evening with friends. Very busy Saturday night but food and service on the whole very good. We found the level of music a little too loud almost preventing conversation at a table of 4 which is a bit too loud. The food was first class and even on a busy evening the standard was very good. A little delay in paying the bill as there appeared not to be enough card machines but it may have been too many people paying at the same time. A good evening and we will return.

Lovely food and great service. Very busy restaurant and acoustics not great but did not affect our dining experience.

The staff were lovely and the food was delicious . It was sadly incredibly noisy and we had to shout to have a conversation . We went to celebrate my mum‘s 84th birthday and she could barely hear anything . They bought her meal and she had ordered monkfish but they brought moules frites and the waitress was very apologetic but it was because she couldn’t hear because of the noise and had heard what sounded like monkfish. We kept the meal otherwise we wouldn’t have had our meals at the same time We booked through an offer which gave us a free gin and tonic on arrival but these were added to our bill as well as somebody else’s coffees and we had to ask to have it changed. And I was disappointed because I’d asked for a candle in my mum’s pudding on the booking form but they didn’t bring one.The table next door had a cake and candles but not us😕 We would go again but during the day when hopefully it’s less noisy or in the evening if it was a young crowd in a party celebration

I felt like it was a lovely restaurant,with a nice atmosphere and very good food.There was plenty of choice. I would like to definitely come back again.

A lovely evening with great food and friendly staff. The restaurant was busy but comfortable and I enjoyed my choice of food. I was lucky to be able to choose from the 2/3 course menu due to the time the table was booked for although a couple of the choices had run out which was a shame.

Really enjoyed the food and staff service very friendly and attentive. For quality of food price is very competitive. So glad you’ve come to Basingstoke . YAY

Staff attentive, food good. Extensive wine list. Outside restaurant area opened, I didn’t realise Cote had that facilitie, bodes well for the summer. Unfortunately an Easter Sunday so restaurant was quiet. Will certainly visit again.

We ordered the breakfast formulae deal as an early lunch, which was reasonable value. Food and surroundings very nice. Service was a bit on the slow side, but just about OK. Would recommend as somewhere to go for a special occasion.

Our basket of bread was forgotten so we had to remind the waiter. However, we were pleasantly surprised that we were not charged for it, lovely meal!

Really nice breakfast, and very good value for money with the hot drink/juice/cooked dish deal. Service was a little slow at times, but we weren't in a rush so this wasn't an issue for us - and our waitress was absolutely lovely too!

Nice spacious dining area such a nice change from the normal cramped ones. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Steak was rare instead of medium, sent it back, staff friendly enough, although didn’t like the automatic 12.5% service charge!! Won’t go back Any time soon. Other nice restaurants around much better value

Family of 5 celebrating my wife's birthday (advised restaurant of this in advance when booking) Service at beginning was very good - starters and mains well timed, good portions and tasted good (although had to return birthday girl's main as order was incorrect - but done so swiftly and without fuss) Then felt very abandoned - had to walk around the restaurant looking for someone to take dessert order after waiting 25 minutes. The profiteroles special was poor quality and would advise against. No effort made re wife's birthday celebration - with so much competition for diners in Basingstoke, restaurants have to go the extra mile to stand out and sadly Cote didn't on this occasion.

Lovely meal food all came out hot and very tasty, fish pie is one of the best I’ve tasted, the crepes very nice, staff and service very good

Great relaxing ambience, a varied choice of mouth-watering food and drink, attentive friendly staff and a quality product. It's definitely a place to return to- often!

Portions should be bigger for the price could Ofer Bread for free !
