1st time we have visited your restaurant and after eating here we will definitely be coming back. Food was top notch and the staff were friendly and attentive.
Great place with a perfect atmosphere. Staff are all attentive and show a personality rather than being dull! Can't wait to come back.
Delicious breakfast with fantastic service. Our party of 7 were all very impressed. Thank you.
We had a fantastic meal yesterday, despite the restaurant being extremely busy, the staff were efficient and attentive. Will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone
We ordered the breakfast formulae deal as an early lunch, which was reasonable value. Food and surroundings very nice. Service was a bit on the slow side, but just about OK. Would recommend as somewhere to go for a special occasion.
It was wonderful! Every detail I added to my request was fulfilled and everything was lovely. The service especially was brilliant. Especially the manager. I'm not sure what her name was but she is lovely! thank you so much for making it such a special evening for us. Think we will become regular's :)
Very disappointing, had to ask for knives and orange juice. Order came out wrong, had to send sausages back as cold and not really cooked and bacon very salty. Was looking forward to going but didn't live up to expectations.
Lovely food plenty of it and tasty, very clean ,service very quick ,good value for money will definitley go again grandson enjoyed it aswell set out very well not cramped
Very good food and service. Extremely busy so was expecting a delay. We did book our table but it wasn’t quite ready but only a short wait. There is no where to wait so you have to stand by the door which isn’t great.
As always food and service excellent, good value and our son and his wife have put you down on their must go there again.
We are regular Cote customers, and this was our first visit to the Basingstoke restaurant. To be honest it was the only time ever that we have been disappointed in a Cote meal. 3 of us had 3 courses each. The worst dish was the Tuna Nicoise - the tuna steak was cold very thin and not at all pink in the middle, the egg yolks had a strange consistency and there was a stray frite in the middle, which was a bit alarming as this meal was Gluten Free - I know frites are GF, but just to find something that is not in the dish was a bit disconcerting. Also the Creme Brulee's that 2 of us had were what I would describe as a bit sloppy - not as set, as it should be. The service was slow - particularly between the starter and the main. Being Coeliac, I always rave about Cote Brasserie as the brand that gives me the best Gluten Free choice of dishes, and I always look forward to meals there. I have been to the Salisbury branch numerous times and never had an issue, similarly occasional visits to Winchester and Oxford have been as good. I know the Basingstoke branch is new, but I would be loathed to return unless I could be assured it's standards had improved.
Both service and food was average. Attention to detail is required-the Food was luke warm and seemed like it was precooked rather than freshly cooked. I wouldn’t rush back - below par compared to Farnham branch
Food needed side dishes. Slow service. Had to wait 20 minute plus to order desserts. Didn’t appreciate gratuity being added on without being asked first. Food was expensive considering small portions.
Food was lovely. Shame about the service. We were asked to leave (even though we had half a bottle of wine left) after a hour and a half because someone was waiting for a table. It was then suggested we could put the lid back on our wine and take it home. This was obviously not the experience we were hoping for.
Great menu and service. Cote has a good atmosphere, it's easy to forget that you are in Basingstoke town centre. Just had my 3rd visit, and now looking forward to the next.
Great food, attentive staff and lovely restaurant atmosphere! An absolute pleasure for brunch!
Great tasting food from a wide menu and excellent service. As we arrived at 6pm, we benefited from the fixed price menu options which offer excellent value for money (five of us dined for less than £120). The only thing preventing six stars was the rather loud ambient noise from other diners. The venue could perhaps put up some sound absorbing panels or soft coverings to lessen the noise level. In this instance most of the noise came from one party and the sound levels dropped appreciably once they had departed.
Beautiful meal today as always, service was good and not very busy today so nice and peaceful.
The food was absolutely delicious, we had Moules and Fougasse to start, followed by Sirloin Steak and Cod Goujons for main. We couldn’t fault it in any way. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the restaurant was very clean, Only negative was, perhaps there could be slightly more space between tables, you are very close to the table next to you. But other than that, amazing evening and would happily go back again.
We had a fantastic meal with amazing service. Highly recommend Cote Brasserie as a great place for lunch or dinner. Great value for money, we will defiantly go back for more.
Excellent service, great food.. steaks are cooked exactly as requested. Every meal we’ve had has been flavoursome and delicious. A very nice place to eat whatever the occasion.
My wife and I often visit Cotes in Farnham and Guildford, today we came to Basingstoke for some light shopping and breakfast.. We do enjoy a lovely breakfast at your restaurant, but today the service was really poor, and the food very disappointing, compared to previous experiences.. food was luke warm and lacked any taste.. Sadly for us, we won't be visiting this restaurant again!
Service and food was great only downside they did not have my first choice being the pork belly! This is twice that I have been that they did not have this choice
Delcious food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and good attentive service. The complimentary gin and tonics on arrival were a very nice touch. Will definitely visit again soon.
Lovely food, attentive staff and good atmosphere. Food was fantastic.
Food was excellent as usual - Service was also exceptional Salvatore is an amazing person and he makes you feel like at home - He always exceeds all expectations as an employee I would see him as a Manager without any doubt .
Me and my friends thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I was celebrating my birthday so the server said she would give us 4 glasses of complimemtary kir royale. Me and my boyfriend said we dont drink but she bought 4 glasses anyway. In the end i paid the bill without looking at the items on the receipt only to find out they had charged us £ 19.50 for those kir royale. 5 stars for the server but 2 stars for overall experience cause the mess up cost me extra £19.50
Good service, friendly staff and the food was excellent. We were celebrating my husband's 70 birthday prior to going to the Anvil Theatre. An enjoyable evening.
Food and service were excellent, staff very friendly and knowledgeable
Food was great, service was good overall and prompt without being rushed. My only comment on service is that waiters should not try to start clearing plates until everyone has finished (basic etiquette). Having said that our waiter was very apologetic and responsive when I asked him to wait. Also, standard bug-bear with all restaurants at the moment; no soft furnishings makes it very difficult to speak to more than one person at a time as it's too noisy. Go on! Buck the trend and do something about that! thanks Carol
Thank you for making our 20th Wedding anniversary so special. You have a great commitment to creating an amazing customer experience - its the little details which matter the most!
We are rating this through the lens of eating in many rather rarefied restaurants internationally. As a newly opened local restaurant, convenient for the theatre etc, it is a very significant improvement on the other establishments and we hope it will thrive. Good value, well prepared food, attentive and helpful staff (contrary to some other reviews) all make for a quality stress free experience albeit don;t forget this is a chain restaurant. That said, the menu is creative - think River Cottage style (not the same absolute quality) however the wine list is somewhat erratic and could be improved without much effort - particularly the "by glass" choices. Minor minus points - the round tables really are slightly too small. It should not be necessary to order bread as a side with a bowl of mussels. The pre 7pm "theatre" menu is very good value.
Last visit staff could not do enough for me and my children - not so much this time, could be as were very busy but honestly took the shine off us going. We were so looking forward to it as finally a nice place for brunch on Basingstoke. Hopefully an improved service next time
Too noisy. Like most restaurants who follow the current fashion if no body furnishings. It means there's nothing to muffle the noise. It's a shame as the food and service was excellent, as usual.
Delicious food with fabulous service. Visited twice in a week! Really nice restaurant with a great menu. So lovely to have this type of restaurant in Basingstoke, it’s always busy yet the service remains superb.
First visit, well impressed with service and quality of the food. Extensive food choice, very pleasant atmosphere. Visit was for a special occasion and we were not disappointed.
When we arrived for brunch we were sat by the door. It was freezing outside pre 10.45 and every time someone came in the door was left wide open. My Husband had to get up at least 3 times from the table to close the external door as we were getting really cold. The door should be an autoclose door or the staff should have kept an eye on this. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and the sausage was completely burnt on one side except I didnt realise until I started to eat the breakfast as the sausage had been placed burnt side down to hide it. It was dry and horrible. The waiter forgot our fruit juices (ordered with the Formulae Breakfast) and had to be reminded. We have been coming to Cote for many years, and this was our first trip to Basingstoke and we will not be coming back. Such a shame as we had taken my Mum out for Brunch. Just to add - we were not walk ins and the restaurant was not at all busy (we had booked a table and time online). We were not too impressed to have a 12.5% tip added to the bill. We were going to raise it with the staff as we had not had a good experience but it took ages to get the bill and we didn't have enough time to faff with a complaint and amending the bill so we ended up paying the tip and leaving. Perhaps when customers have had to mention so many negsative points during one meal, the staff should think twice before adding the tip to the bill- let the customer decide whether they want to tip the service received.
The staff are friendly and attentive, and the breakfast was of good quality. We also weren’t pressured to leave once we had finished our meal.
I visited Côte for the first time with friends over the Easter weekend. It was difficult to choose from the menu as there are plenty of delicious dishes to choose from. When the food arrived we weren’t disappointed. Just delicious and well worth the money. The service was good overall and my only complaint would be that we had to prompt for the desert menu and bill. I will definitely be back as cannot wait to try some of the other dishes on the menu and introduce to other friends and family.
Very nice atmosphere... not too busy and not hectic.. controlled and calm environment.. good and quick staff... prices not too shabby for the quality... everyone is friendly .. food was excellent.. at first thought portion sizes were too small but with a bread basket too .. twas perfect! Overall very great experience!
Really lovely lunch. Fresh tasting food. Good service. Perfect lunch
Best service we have ever had. Staff went above and beyond making it extra special. Food was fantastic and overall was a superb experience and we would highly recommend.
Tasty food and very generous portions for the main course. A very pleasant Sunday lunchtime experience
A really good meal for the four of us. Staff friendly and helpful with a great attitude. Nice ambience. Good choice of dishes on the menu changed every month. Excellent in every way.
The service was appalling the waitress stretched across the table causing us to lean into each other. The waitress was rude and quite abrupt. She was hurrying us through the courses. The acoustics were shocking. It was so loud in the restaurant. We were a round table of four an we couldn't hear each other.
This was our second visit in as many weeks. The food choices are wide, but this does not compromise the high standards. The service was also brilliant, a caring approach and made us feel very welcome. We will be back again!
Took my girlfriend for our anniversary dinner It was overall very nice but not as good as it normally is. Waiting staff not very welcoming and rushed us with our meal. We were in and out in 1hr as it seemed like they wanted the table back.
Excellent service and food. Our table was a little small, but tucked away by the window which was good.
Always excellent food and service. Big thumbs up! This place never disappoints.
A lovely relaxed atmosphere but disappointed that for the price of the meal it did not include vegetables! Also disappointed no lemon cello a liquor to end the meal with!
