Côte Basingstoke

Food was great, but service wasn't up to usual standards. We waited too long to place our order, and the waitress was rude when we pointed out that she had forgotten our juices.

Pleasant staff, good service, excellent food. Glad to have a branch of this restaurant in Basingstoke. Look forward to many more meals here - thanks very much

A very pleasant lunch today in Basingstoke. Food was good and the service was efficient and friendly. I will certainly book another meal at Cote and am happy to recommend.

Food was fantastic and the atmosphere was good. Felt like you were on a restaurant abroad not Basingstoke which is a good thing! Will definitely be returning!

Lovely breakfast, great food and coffee We had a slight problem with our order but dealt with so quickly and reflected in our bill - which we weren't expecting nor did we feel it had caused us any major delay. Great service

We were seated at 7pm, left at 10.45. Took 30mins for breads to come out, further 20 mins for starter. Manager recognised this and came over to have a word. The waitress had clearly been told off and our waiter was switched and she didn’t come over to us again until we caught her attention. 3 of our meals were lovely, one of us however received food so over cooked the taste made her ill and she went home early. The deserts came out at 9.50 these were okay but not overly amazing. George was lovely and dealt with our complaints so well on the night. Food was good apart from wait and the burnt meal.

Great restaurant , great food , lovely atmosphere . Staff excellent Friendly and food outstanding . Thought we were entitled to a free bottle of wine if you signed up to newsletter, oh well maybe next time

We thought this would be a lovely experience as have been in the Reading branch and a London branch, unfortunately we were not so impressed by this one. We were shown to our seats, and ordered some water and both types of olives. We didn't get water until i asked again and only had 1 type of olives until we asked again! Dinner was fine and then not one member of staff asked if we were ok or if we wanted a sweet/more drinks or anything. We felt we could have walked out and nobody would have noticed!! Eventually we asked for the bill, but it felt like it was too much trouble for the waitress. Maybe more staff required or more training required not quite sure if we will try again, such a shame as not many decent restaurants in Basingstoke.

We were greeted promptly with a smile upon arrival. We were taken to our table, which we both felt was a bit small but manageable. Nice menu selection and wine choices. Our drinks, and food were delivered in very good time. We never felt like we waited too long. Our wine service was excellent. We did feel that it was a bit noisy, but the restaurant was very busy. We could still hear each other talking and the music was tasteful. We felt everything was reasonably priced. Thank you for an enjoyable evening and we will definitely come back.

Excellent food. Good service. A bit noisey value for money. May be next time we can choose a less lively time.we would like to try the breakfast so may be a bot quieter.

Lovely food and atmosphere staff were attentive. Not a lover of restaurants adding a service charge though

6 guests for an evening meal on a bank holiday. Starters were fine, no complaints. Waitress was attentive as was the manager when we arrived. Main course, 4 not a problem. Mine was fish and plate was stone cold as was the veg but fish was hot. I sent it back and it arrived hot and the fish was excellent. My fellow guest had a sirloin on his plate and it should have been ribeye, it went back and sure enough another steak arrived this time i5 was cooked rare but stone cold in the middle. This time it was decided not to bother. The manager did come and talk to us and did his utmost to please us and rectify a bad situation. I think he excelled and will certainly go back for that very reason. I would also recommend this restaurant to my friends too.

This second visit was equally good as our first vist. Helpful, friendly and not too attentive service. Glorious menu where choosing what to have was the hardest part in what was a very relaxed and enjoyable meal. Portion sizes are just right, so I did not have to forgo a starter just to make sure I had room for a dessert!

Lovely staff. Four greeted us on the way in! Had issue with olives -oil rancid. Replaced. And some money knocked off total bill which was nice but not necessary.

The food was absolutely delicious, we had Moules and Fougasse to start, followed by Sirloin Steak and Cod Goujons for main. We couldn’t fault it in any way. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the restaurant was very clean, Only negative was, perhaps there could be slightly more space between tables, you are very close to the table next to you. But other than that, amazing evening and would happily go back again.

Excellent service, great food.. steaks are cooked exactly as requested. Every meal we’ve had has been flavoursome and delicious. A very nice place to eat whatever the occasion.

Prompt service and great food and importantly hot food too! Lovely decor and friendly and pleasant atmosphere. This was our third visit and we will be visiting again soon.

We thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. The food is very similar to the excellent food we enjoy in Paris when we visit! A couple of occasions I've had to chase drinks orders, but that's the only negative thing I can say! My daughter, girlfriend and I thoroughly rate this place and we intend to keep returning!

Delcious food, lovely relaxed atmosphere and good attentive service. The complimentary gin and tonics on arrival were a very nice touch. Will definitely visit again soon.

Great atmosphere, great service and the food was excellent. Its about time the town centre had a decent restaurant. I will definitely be going again. Only negative is if you're not a wine drinker, there's not much of a selection on spirits.

First visit to the Basingstoke restaurant. Loved the interior and staff really courteous and helpful. However, my main course was cold and one of our side dishes was incorrect. To their credit the staff quickly put it all right and the Manager deducted the cost of our desserts as way of apology. Unfortunately, this rather spoilt the evening which was for my husbands birthday

Booking was easy to do online as it was a small party. When entering the restaurant i waiting a minute or two for two colleagues to finish a conversation then was seated. We were able to order drinks and food quickly. The drinks took sometime to come. Generally the food was good but a bit cold. It came out so quickly after ordering i wondered if it had been sat there for a while. One of the party's eggs were hard boiled (she had eggs benedict) but when she complained she did get another breakfast in return which was much better. The quality of the ingrediants was good. I ordered a second coffee which took a while to come. Generally the atmosphere of the restaurant was good but the customer service was lacking. At several times I saw staff members stood drinking coffee (while I waited for mine) and generally chatting. Some looked more dischevelled than I'd expect.

Was given tiny table by door, which despite curtain was still chilly. This was thankfully dealt with when i asked to move and they kindly gave us a glass of prosecco as an apology. My steak was great and the rest of the food was good. But service was too fast we barely had bread brought out and main course arrived. Then when we did have to leave for taxi, there internet went down and they could not take payment. They asked me to go to cash point but we didn't have time. In the end they used old machine. Overall good food. Tables too small and packed in. Service was not great.

The food was delicious, the service was delightful and I can’t wait for summer so I can eat outside . I intend to sample the breakfast menu very soon

Really enjoyed our meal, the staff was friendly, service was very good, good value for money, good menu choice, would book again, Would like a but more choice on cocktails.

Food was beautiful and atmosphere was great! We were left waiting a while after our mains before we ordered dessert, which could have been faster. Overall experience was very good and would definitely come back

The food was excellent and the choice was very good especially as one was gluten-free and one was vegetarian. Only issue was that the person who showed us to our table didn't seem to know that there was a separate vegetarian menu and my wife had to go looking for one. Apart from that the service was very good albeit a little slow.

Beautiful restaurant and excellent service. Food was nice but far too expensive for the size of the portions. Staff were lovely although verynpushy about ordering oir meal. We were there for thr evening snf wanted tobtake our time.

Incredibly disappointing - this is our second visit and both times were poor. Tonight my dinner was cold and had to be sent back. Service was poor - staff were busy chatting at the bar, whilst customers, including us, were waiting to be served. Tables weren't cleared and the floor was left dirty. My dinner was not deducted from the bill even though my companion and I both ate separately. When we asked for the service charge to be removed even that didn't trigger a response from the management team. It was only when I asked to see the manger, who had gone home at 10.15, that something happened. They did try to make it up to us, but am left feeling I am not sure I want to go back.

I booked on line for a party of 7. I quickly received an email advising that I would receive a call within 48 hours to discuss our requirements, I did not receive a call and therefore we had not had confirmation of our booking. I did receive a call 30 minutes after our booking time to see if we were due to arrive at which point we had made alternative arrangements. Poor customer service, especially as we had previously turned up without booking and was turned away as you could not accommodate a party of 6 without prior booking! I cannot therefore review our meal as we are yet to actually eat at your restaurant.

It was our first experience dining at Cotes, and likely to be our last. The service was appalling and the atmosphere was very protencious. We had a screaming baby next to us (at 8.30 pm). We ordered jin and tonics which arrived in water glasses, along with sourdough bread which we had to ask for side plates at which the waiter appeared extremely annoyed. The food arrived very fast (fish pie), which was great however it then seemed it was a ready made microwave meal which has just been heated up. Over priced for quality and overall experience, very disappointing to top it off our waiter had a very poor attitude and made us feel uncomfortable and a anxious due to his negative manner towards us.

Very nice breakfast/brunch with usual high standard of food and service. The only slight negatives were we asked for marmalade but received apricot jam and my wife’s tea was served in a half full, lukewarm pot. Anyway we enjoyed our meal

Very good experience. We took our Daughter for Birthday lunch and we were well looked after by Salvatore. Good welcome and service without going over the top. Will definitely go back just a little disappointed with Cote policy of adding tip to bill. I like to decide how much to tip and would probably left more today!

Wine too warm initially. Maim course order screwed up. Waitress only ordered up one main course for 2 of us. Staff trying hard. Atmsphere good though.

Booked a table for 7.15 arrived early but was promptly seated. We had the drinks as part of the June offer. I thoroughly enjoyed mine. The food was fab. we had the roasted Pork Belly and Duck breast we added the mushroom sauce to our pork order ( try it) it is scrumptious.

Am excellent little steak. Served very quickly by friendly and obliging staff, despite the fact that they were very busy. Convenient for pre theatre or concert meal.

Cote is my favourite restaurant. The service is excellent, the staff are really helpful and well trained. I always enjoy my meals at Cote, the food is delicious and well presented and I am a "fussy" eater. I have recommended Cote, Basingstoke, to friends and they have confirmed how much they enjoyed their meal. It is a brilliant addition to the restaurants in Basingstoke.

Excellent French food - very good menu with lots of choice. Lots of very attentive staff. Breton chicken with garlic butter - yum! Excellent, thank you.

Delicious food with fabulous service. Visited twice in a week! Really nice restaurant with a great menu. So lovely to have this type of restaurant in Basingstoke, it’s always busy yet the service remains superb.
