We sat outside and had lunch and drinks. Lovely service, careful to keep everyone safe. Delicious food and drink. So glad we decided to go.

We had a fantastic night meal to start our first wedding anniversary, the staff reserved us a lovely booth and bought us a glass of bubbles each and wished us a happy anniversary, a lovely touch. The food was lovely, we both chose steak and I highly recommend. Thank you again.

Excellent service, menu with many good options, delicious food and coffee. Great for a meal at any time. (The only thing we’d improve is the pain au chocolate: it didn’t feel fresh - its quality was noticeably below the excellent quality of the rest of the food we’ve had today and on other days in this restaurant, and even below the quality of any supermarket baked pain au chocolate).

Excellent service from courteous and efficient staff, interesting and eclectic menu at sensible prices together with a pleasant ambiance. As first time users we found the whole lunch time experience most enjoyable and will certainly return.

We can always rely on Cotes for a good meal whether here in Bristol or St Pauls London. Are waiter was attentive and friendly but my parents found it slightly noisy where we were sat, probably better to sit lower down next time with them.

Brunch with my adult children. Excellent service and the 3 meals were excellent. I had the French option and the 'black pudding' type sausage is really something special. The others had veggy options which they both thoroughly enjoyed. The ambiance in the restaurant is second to none.

Loved going back to the restaurant, felt very safe and everything was clean with lots of hand sanitizer to use. Food was excellent as always.

This was our third visit since re-opening and the chefs really need to up their game - it just is not what it was pre-lockdown! The two fish parmentiers last night needed more sauce and a crisper top to the potato. During our previous visit our friends were disappointed in their bourguignonne as there was not enough sauce.

Starters were great, prawn and crab. However, with the main courses the potato was undercooked with the Haddock and the meat in the beef Bourgogne was grisly. Strange being served with waiters / waitresses in masks.

TONIGHT WE HAD LOBSTER AND AS USUAL IT WAS EXCELLENT/

We had a feeling of being safe with the tables being a good distance apart. The staff were all kitted out with visors which keeps them and us safe but we can see the person serving you .

Thank you so much for the splendid hospitality and lunch. I had requested a specific table as it was my husband's birthday lunch and we always come here for that. Not only did we get the table but also a very welcome glass of fizzy and that set our lunch off to a great start, how thoughtful of the staff. As always, staff, food and ambience superb and in these days of Covid, everything was spotless clean (although it always is). Many thanks.

Amazing service best coffee I've had cheers will be back again

We were thoroughly enjoying our meal as usual ,until a customer decided she would like to move up to a table by us my wife started coughing and found it hard to breathe, the young lady had just applied a very strong smelling vegan hand cream but refused to believe that it could cause an allergic asthma reaction and called my wife a liar. Your excellent staff persuaded them to move tables for the fourth or fifth time possibly infecting other tables (I did not think at the time but they should not be able to change tables due to COVID-19) I hope this is viewed as helpful not as a criticism of your amazing staff .

Limited a la carte menu options due to EOTHO scheme and bank holiday, but food was good and restaurant atmosphere was excellent. Particularly nice touch providing comp champagne on arrival as it was our wedding anniversary. Would happily recommend and return.

The service, as is usual, was excellent. I was disappointed in the food.

It was our 40th Wedding anniversary and we were very disappointed that the Al Le Carte menu, had run out apart from the seabass. Plus the pate starter had a different bread substituted. When we booked 2 weeks in advance, we were expecting a full menu. What we had was very nice, but it wouldn't have been our choice, but it was to late to find another restaurant

Food was very good. Shame so many items on menu were unavailable. Service was very good but we think it is a bit cheeky to automacally add a service charge. This is a voluntary payment that your customer can add, dependent on how they feel the quality of service has been.

An excellent meal with attentive service. We will be back.
