Didn't bother staying for the meal as the "welcome" fell far short of expectations. We had a reservation but the young lady who greeted us (if greet is the right word) was generally unfriendly and officious, kept us waiting unnecessarily (even though there were several tables already made up and ready), evidently enjoyed tap-tapping importantly on her ipad while we tap-tapped impatiently with our feet, showed us to a horrible table upstairs near the toilets, was "peeved" when we asked to move, and told us (twice) we were in the way. We voted with our feet and took our custom elsewhere. Shame as we have been to that branch before and had a wonderful experience, and have been to several other Cote branches in London and never been disappointed. Won't be going to Charlotte Street again. Thanks for asking.

We were well looked after and the food and advice about it was great. We suspect a team member short but this didn't matter as it was a good environment to chat and catch up with friends after 20 years. Good value too.

Enjoyed our evening with family at Charlotte St with a pre theatre meal. Our table could have been in a better spot being in a small corridor. Not much atmosphere there and a little cramped. Food very tasty, just a problem with the apple crumble being returned due to being cold in the middle. This was rectified and an adjustment made to the bill. Always satisfied with a cote evening.

Delicious food. Arriving at 6.15pm we told the staff we were going to the theatre at 7.30pm and they were prompt with food and the bill.

A very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings. I ate prawns, minute steak and the delicious iced berries with white sauce whilst we also enjoyed our very good bottle of complimentary wine under the Rewards scheme! The staff were friendly and efficient too.

Good standard in line with Cote reputation, excellent value for central London, efficient and friendly service. Ambiance at Charlotte Street especially relaxing. We aim to return.

Vote is by far the best chain of restaurants in the country. I use them frequently and thoroughly enjoy the food and service. The loyalty scheme seems most odd and who are quandoo

We booked cote Brasserie in Charlotte Street, London WC on line and found it very easy to do. The menu choice was excellent I had Calamari starter followed by the roast chicken breast and vegetables, together with a glass of Kir Royale and followed by an American coffee. I consider it was good value for money and we were able to get to the Dominion Theatre in a timely manner for the matinee of American in Paris. This may seem a very verbose rating but I previously tried to submit one before and I was stuck for words as you require a minimum amount of 25 words, which for a restaurant review is too long and time consuming!!

Does the job for a pre-theatre dinner, nice people and well priced wines. Menu is adequate, setting is good and service is excellent when pushed for time

Food was very nice as always, I have to say the service was a little inefficient- staff perfectly courteous but we were left unattended for about 10 minutes after taking our seats. No massive issue though.

We turned up earlier than our booking time but were welcomed and seated at a good table. The staff were extremely pleasant and we enjoyed every mouthful of food we ate. We ordered from the set menu and found the choice varied and very well cooked. The price of a bottle of wine was reasonable. We enjoyed our experience very much.

I really like Cote and have been to several branches. Unpretentious menu, food always fresh, nice wine and super friendly staff. Charlotte Street branch is lovely - like the ambience very much. It is not as large as some of the other branches but I prefer a smaller and more intimate place. As in all Cote restaurants staff were absolutely brilliant - friendly, efficient and attentive. All in all a lovely evening!

The restaurant is situated in Charlotte Street which is a lovely area just off Oxford Street. A great choice of food. I had the fish stew which was very filling and came with 4 pieces of bread to soak up the juices. My other friends had the haddock which was great. With drinks and coffee it was £25. 00 each.

Really love this place it's intimate and cute but also really reasonable and the food is always on point. Any of the chain work across London

Having previously visited the Sloane Square Cote, I was disappointed with my evening as neither the food or service compared favourably. Had chosen Cote to meet up with family unfamiliar with London and hoped they would enjoy our choice. Service was slow and I had to query when our main course would arrive,45 minutes after ordering; it arrived 10 minutes later. My chicken was over cooked, the sauce over seasoned and portion of gratin potato meagre. The pork belly was better and my guests' fish dishes passable. Staff were invisible for much of the evening, had they not been, more drinks would have been ordered. Paid the bill and left with no staff evident. A pleasant place to sit but the staff just did not seem interested at all and, despite the very reasonable prices I would not return to this particular Cote. This could easily have been so much better with just a little care.

Good service, good price, large restaurant but with separate areas so if you had a party or wanted privacy this would be a good choice. Food arrived quickly

We've always had good dining experiences at the Cote Brasseries in St Martins Lane and Soho. This was our fist time to Charlotte Street, which is in an excellent location about 5 minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station - particularly for pre-theatre dining before going to the Dominion Theatre. Sadly this evening's pre-booked dining experience was not so good as the other branches. Some things were great, but much was not. SERVICE - The restaurant looked quite busy when we arrived and we were asked to wait for a couple of minutes before being seated - not at all unreasonable. The dining area is split between a few different rooms, making for a pleasant smaller restaurant feel but with good use of mirrors to still give a sense of space. The wait to order was a little longer than we would have liked but it was busy, with a lot of people in the final stages of their visit. Unfortunately even as our back room thinned out, it retained a cloak of invisibility - the remaining tables were visited by several staff whilst ours was not even glanced at. We had to make a real effort to catch their eye. It would seem the table opposite us was having similar problems. APPETISERS - We skipped on our traditional bread and olives because it had taken so long to get to place an order, we didn't think we would have the time. STARTERS - Both the ROQUEFORT SALD and the ROATD BEETROOT SALAD were pleasant, but the dressings were a little bland. The empty plates remained uncollected from our invisible table for quite some time....................... MAINS - An issue with a dirty knife was dealt with promptly. We had both opted for the ESCALOPE OF VEAL which was excellent, succulent and slightly plumper than many restaurants serve, but easy to cut and the breaded coating had a very satisfying crunch to it - actually probably one of the best I've had. Sadly the watercress garnish was looking a little forlorn - I think it must've been waiting to be served as long as we had! SIDES - We both opted for a simple but agreeable TOMATO, SHALLOT & BASIL SALAD, which was delicately seasoned with a faint hint of salt, oil and balsamic drizzle. Sadly the small (but enough for one person) portion of GRATIN POTATO that arrived looked like it had been kept hot, waiting for the starters to be cleared away - the sauce was drying out and was extensively burned to the sides of the dish it came in. We had just settled in to eating when two side dishes of tomato, shallot and basil salad arrived. Confused? Clearly something had gone awry somewhere as we were already enjoying ours. - DESSERT - Despite the delays we just had time to finish with dessert. We already knew what we wanted so we ordered them as soon as the waiter came to clear the table. The ICED BERRIES with warm chocolate sauce is a firm favourite with me. My partner opted for the CHEESE SELECTION (with weary grapes) but we had to attract the waiter to get the portion of (excellent) sourdough bread that should have accompanied it. - OVERALL - A couple of great elements in the food but a few garnishes and sides that I would not have been happy to serve if I ran a restaurant and a slow, unwelcoming service have dropped my rating on this occasion. We'll be sticking to St Martins Lane and Soho the next time we opt for Cote.

The food was excellent, as usual, and the service quick to start with but as the restaurant became less busy by 7.00 p.m. the service became very slow indeed.

Best breakfast in town. Always freshly cooked served with continental flair. It is difficult to find a great breakfast chef. Cote Charlotte Street has one

We went at a very busy time, and we were shown within minutes to our table - on the first floor, which usually means a worse experience, but not when you were placed next to the window. The starters were OK - our eggs florentine a little on the tepid side; I had chicken which was OK - people were more pleased with their steaks; I enjoyed my chocolate mousse, and the chocolate pot had a mixed reception. The pre- theatre menu is good value. I wish they'd stop presenting the flagon of tap water as if it was the holy grail - but hey !

A quiet Sunday evening and warm welcome. Absolutely no problems with service. All three of us enjoyed both food and wine. As this Cote is located close to where a friend lives, i can see this being a regular haunt.

This is the second visit to Cote. We very much enjoyed the set menu and the fact that a small voluntary charge is added to the bill - and the 'tip' which actually goes to the staff. Food was very good indeed. The Manager was outstanding in explaining how we can redeem our 'Loyalty Points' now! We booked ahead with no problems.

Waiting staff were friendly however our chicken was undercooked (as was the fish on the table next to us). It was a Pre-theatre meal so perhaps they were just rushing to get food out and not paying attention.

Generally pleasant and food good. The 10 Year Anniversary Menu is particularly good value. One thing that coloured our experience is that the waitress suggested we have the bill after we declined coffee.

Service was ok and starters fine. My issue relates to our main course (two of us had steak and one duck cooked medium), which was very disappointing. It looked as though our mains were originally cooked perfectly but i suspect they had been standing under a hot lamp for over 10 mins which made it so incredibly dry. My rib-eye was also very chewy.

Love Côte. Friendly service, great food and reasonably priced. There's a really good choice of wines too. I'd really recommend the Fougasse as a starter - super tasty.
