We visited the restaurant last evening with friends and had a lovely meal - we all had different dishes and all really enjoyed each dish, the restaurant itself is really nice with good spaces between tables and the staff were very friendly and really couldn't do enough for you without being intrusive. Will defiantly be going again very soon.

Friendly helpful staff and a comfortable restaurant. The food is a little disappointing with little effort to make it attractive. The grilled chicken and chips were just that placed on a large plate - something to expect at a roadside cafe. My fish stew was full of sauce but nothing to eat it with, no bread or potatoes for example. Need a little thought on food presentation.

I was there for my birthday with my family. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My son has a shellfish allergy and the manager went to great lengths to ensure that he was informed about his choices.

Excellent quality of food and service as always. The set menu is such good value and never disappoints. I will be visiting again very soon.

Warm friendly welcome, delicious food from the lunchtime set menu, good service we weren't rushed. Have been before a while ago just as good as then will definitely be back

Lovely meal as usual made all the better by the friendly great service given by the staff at this restaurant they definitely make the difference from other chains, they make you feel special. Definitely be back

Love the set menu here, great choice, great food and very reasonably priced. We had steak frites (£2 supplement) and chocolate mousse. Lovely service too.

Love the food and service here. I had the asparagus seasonal soup to start and the roast bass for mains. I was going to stop there but couldn't; resist their dark chocolate pot. Yummy. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a pleasure to dine here.

Excellent cote de boeuf, salad and bread and friendly staff. Service was quick and the free bottle of wine complemented the meal perfectly. Shame the cote de boeuf is only available on the special menu and not all the time.

Really lovely meal, the food was delicious. Service was a bit slow especially as it was really quiet in the restaurant, but the servers were really friendly and accommodating.

Good service, nice atmosphere & lovely food. Waiter was attentive, decor was welcoming & the veal was cooked on point - creme brûlée was really tasty, just shame there wasn't a little more of it.

Always great service and amazing food! Lovely ambiance too - not too noisy. Thoroughly recommend this place whether brunch or dinner. Very friendly nice to have this in Chelmsford better than all the chains!

Had a lovely meal, first time today and would 100% go back. Portion sizes was perfect and very tasty. Have heard breakfast is really good too so will try breakfast next time.

Lacklustre service, mediocre food, overpriced poorly cooked and presented. Cold atmosphere at the front of the restaurant, felt like the poor relations! Couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave.

Excellent service and tasty food. A lovely atmosphere for a catch up with a good friend. Having booked for 7pm, we missed the set menu but will book earlier next time as that is a very good deal.

Service as always impeccable. Sadly food let them down this time. Im sure we were salt poisoned! So much salt in everything. Nothing like previous meals we have eaten there. Very dissapointing as have always loved Cote. Will visit again at some point, perhaps when a new chef is on board.

The food is really delicious, well presented and are generous portions. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again especially for a special occasion.

The staff are welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is well proportioned and the noise level absorbed by the soft furnishings ( good if you wear a hearing aid). The menu is a little unispiring and needs to change more regularly. W would still come back for honest French style cookery.

Excellent service- nothing is too much trouble! Eat here regularly and is my wife's favourite restaurant. Particularly like the prawn gratinee starter. Maitre d is always welcoming.

Cote is a good choice for a casual dinner or lunch. Good food choice and reasonable price. The service was excellent and joining the Cote club (free) included a free bottle of wine.

We had an excellent meal with a good menu selection. The service was great with friendly staff. the only downside was this it was a bit chilly temperature wise.
