meal and stuff fine, I don't like it when a service charge is put on although optional,.... I didn't leave a tip, I would have if it wasn't assumed for me... think they missed out, tips are becoming a thing I don't do now with minimum wage, the employer should up the wages not expect me to make up a short fall.....

An excellent evening. Attentive but not pushy staff, very friendly, great food and atmosphere.

Nice meal and not over priced like many other places at New year (which have far poorer quality). Only minor glitch was the fact that despite checking in advance it had become very quiet by 12.00 although had been quite busy earlier. Would definitely consider again

We had a great meal at the Cote Brasserie in Chester. The food was delicious and very well presented and the staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all a great experience.

Cold frites which were replaced by hot frites, however the main course was served on cold plates therefore my fillet steak became cold very quickly

Food w as excellent but waiting times killed the whole experience. We waited 40 mins for starter and there was a large party on the next table, although we were there before them, they were served before us. We waited another 45 mins for the main course and that was only after chasing up the waitress ( she was doing her best). We won’t be coming again.

A lovely lunch. Up to the usual Cote standards. Lovely server and overall a great experience. Our only quibble was that one doesn't the piped music The place has enough buzz!

Nice free cocktail but food was pretty average. They have a separate vegan and vegetarian menu but this is very unimaginative. Many dishes had mushroom and goats cheese as a central ingredient- what if you don’t like either of these? Vegan option was expensive for what it was, basically lentils and tomato sauce. It would be nice to see something other than mushroom risotto (why do all restaurants do this when thinking of a veggie dish?). Veggie burger (bean burger), ratatouille as main dish, veggie lasagne would be nice.

Second time we’ve been- and both times the food, service and atmosphere was exceptional.

Good food, courteous staff - as always it met/exceeded expectations :-) We always enjoy our experience eating in Chester Cote Brasserie as it is consistently good and we have always had a good time.

Delicious food and lovely staff a always. Chester Cote makes us happy every time we visit 👍 Wish they didn’t put the 12.5% tip on automatically though as often causes a discussion when with friends. It should be personal choice I think 😬

fabulous food (as always). Great service from, Anita and Hannah, today xmas eve. Been the night before for the xmas menu, lovely steak which we had last year also. Enjoy the food and ambience.

Excellent French cuisine as always and a great value Prestige Menu. Service by our Spanish waitress was first class, (again). setting within the ancient arched walls was great. Thanks for a super evening

We booked this restaurant on it’s good name and had high expectations. What a disappointment, average fast food. The main issue being I sent back steak as it was originally undercooked. It came back heated up, dry and very over seasoned with salt. Peppercorn sauce almost no flavoor and fries heated up and hard. The one plus side was the good service. We will not be returning in a hurry!

It was a beautiful experience, however we found the dishes were served very quick with no break in between courses !

Been here several times and enjoyed it so booked table. We were left waiting at entrance and although there seemed to be sufficient staff they did not welcome us until I went up to one of them to say that we had booked. They were not very busy at this time. My first course of a warm beetroot salad was disappointing. It was supposed to have nuts and creme fraiche as well as beetroot but it was boring and had three tiny pieces of nut and a very watery creme fraiche. My second course was better, chicken with frites. Our server was pleasant and the setting was fine. All ok just not as good as I have experienced in the past.

I visited Cote this afternoon with my friend and had a beautiful meal at a very competitive price. Cote is my favourite restaurant at the moment in Chester, I am never disappointed.

Arrived starter came in good time. Then waited and waited and waited. I had to ask where was a main off the waiter went and came back after 10" minutes and said it won't be long but it did. My partner had the pork which was tender I had the brecon chicken which was dry and hard also plate was covered in oil. I have been to the St Albans restaurant which was lovely. The music was awful and load a lady with children asked them to turn it down. I will never come to this restaurant again and we came on a coach trip so came home disappointed.

Friends meal was under cooked , so sent back . Recieved a new meal after everyone had finished eating !

Second visit as great stop for family before theatre. Good food at good prices.. nice service.
