Côte Chester

I called especially to book a downstairs table. I was bringing 2 old ladies (nearly 90) and am disabled. So disappointed to have table nearest the door. Hot air blower useless when door opened frequently. Brrr

Excellent service as always. Venue attractive with character which is a good start! Have been here several times in the past and also with friends. However, todaywe were somewhat disappointed. One choice was salmon but did not want the ratatouille with which it was served, so requested an alternative ‘veg’ and agreed on a serving of spinach. The salmon came up on the plate obviously on its own - a pleasant serving of spinach was served and priced (!!!) separately. This made the single serving of salmon very expensive and the course well overpriced. We have been to many venues where there has been a change of an item without any additional charge. Sadly this has resulted in a considerable cooling of our opinion of Cote Brassiere. We live in Chester city centre and can walk easily to a wide choice of restaurants.

Can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Service was exceptional, very knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Food was beautiful. Will definitely come again when I am next in Chester.

Lovely meal with excellent staff. Dean was super attentive as I have a severe allergy to mussels and he checked everything I ordered to ensure it was mussels free. He is a credit to your company.

I was told at my local Cote Brasserie that the vouchers bought online were for 12 months & they are only for 6 months. All other vouchers are always 12 months so don’t understand why yours are for such a short period.

Although the restaurant was very very busy and we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for our reserved table, all the staff were properly concerned and did their utmost to make us feel welcome. I can only hope they are all properly rewarded for their devotion to duty

We were in the quieter upstairs. Service was great fun. A step up from Cafe Rouge - that's a compliment as CR is good!

A pleasant escape from the rain as we met a good friend for a relaxed meal. The staff were very pleasant and apologetic when not all of our food came out from the kitchen at the same time. The venue would not suit anyone with serious mobility problems as there are steps down into the restaurant on arrival, and the steps up to the toilets on the upper floor are both narrow and very steep.

We waited longer than expected for our initial drinks The food wasn’t piping hot when it came out. The staff and restaurant were fabulous as usual thanks. Really enjoyed our afternoon.

We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, we were not disappointed as the service and food were outstanding. Staff really helpful and knowledgeable advised on the wine list. A great night

Great food and surroundings. Staff are friendly and efficient. Been to Cote in Birmingham and Gloucester and a couple of times in Chester. Never fails to be brilliant Good noise level as generally busy with people socialising. Hate it when restaurants are too quiet.

Lovely food and good service from helpfull staff. I'll book in person next time, online proved to be a pain. It's a common mistake but if your diners order desserts and coffee most don't want the coffee first!

We eat quite regularly so are happy with the menu and the service , nice and warm in the eating area , lighting good , a buzz around the place .

Lunching at Cote is always a lovely experience. The staff and waitresses are always helpful and friendly and above all the food is DELICIOUS. Our favourite place in town.

Lovely meal as always! Food great, we had four different mains and all delicious, staff very accommodating when we asked to move table from near the door. Service great!

It was a disaster! Took my 2 children at 7.45 but waited until 9.15 for our mains! This was a celebratory meal but we were all past hungry by the time our meals arrived. The staff were lovely and very apologetic but our evening was already spoiled. Such a shame as we visit the Cirencester cote regularly and haven't had a problem. In their defence, our bill was waived but we won't be returning

We both absolutely love Cote in Chester. It is our favourite and love visiting. Try the Steak Tartare as a starter - an absolute must. Special thanks to Sam the new MD who made our visit special. To be recommended.

Had lunch with my Mother on Saturday. We both really enjoyed our meal and were delighted with the friendly service.

We visited, with friends, on Friday 15th November and the restaurant was very busy. But this did not affect the quality of the food or the great service that we have come to expect. Our party of four all chose different starters from the Prestige menu (£15.95) and each of them were excellent. For main course my OH chose the Chicken dish, lovely and moist and tender with a delicate sauce. The rest of us had the Pork tenderloin, which was superbly cooked, it came with tender, braised cabbage and potato gratin. We shared a side of braised carrots. We didn't have a desert, as regulars will know, the portion sizes are great. All in all a very enjoyable experience. This very modest restaurant can give all other restaurants in Chester a close run for their money as far as quality of food and brilliant service are concerned! One little aside....what's going on in the ladies? Maybe the Manager could get a plumber DIYer to have a look at those loose toilet seats? Otherwise, some of the best restrooms in Chester.
