this Côte is lovely inside as kept part of the ancient arches. It's much bigger than it looks with a huge area upstairs.....all in usual Côte lovely style. Excellent friendly ,helpful service from staff....meals delicious, loads of choice .....need to have hot plates though! Definitely recommend .
Resonable price excellant food great staff.great choice of wine. Varied menu and friendly staff. Would definatly visit again. Ease of access especially for wheelchairs. Excellent.
The staff and service were excellent, as was our food. It was very nice to receive a complimentary kir royale, as it was my birthday.
Friendly staff as usual, great service and good food. The fish cake with poached egg and spinach was really tasty. A shame that my friends egg yolk wasn't runny but it didn't ruin her meal so we didn't like to mention. We still enjoyed our food.
we have been to several Cote's before and so nothing was a surprise and we enjoyed our lunch but the steak was very peppered in comparison with other cote steaks and too much for my daughter. The salad and crab were lovely, we will go again
We had a lovely meal Staff most pleasant and friendly . My sister particularly impressed being coeliac , with the gluten free menu choice . Thank you would definitely recommend .
Lovely food, friendly and efficient staff. Plenty of variety of food on the menu to choose from. I will definitely pay this place a visit next time we are in Chester.
Absolutely lovely restaurant. Food was delicious and the service was very good too. Would not hesitate to visit again and thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting One little niggle however - booked on line to take advantage of the restaurants" June offer" which was a complimentary glass of Kir Royale on arrival. Unfortunately I had to ask the waitress for this as it wasn't forthcoming and it then appeared on our bill at the end of the evening!! The restaurant did remedy the bill without fuss, however I felt that the waitresses should have known about the offer and which guests taking this up!
Excellent meal at the new Cote Chester. We have been to the Liverpool and Manchester branches several times and this new Cote matched the the wonderful standards set at the other branches. It was busy the night we dined, but everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The staff were perfect and seemed genuinely interested in you having a brilliant experience. We will return for sure
Both my husband and I were looking forward to the May menu. We love the fact that the menu changes monthly: not fully, but 2-3 courses on it. The food was delicious: I had steak tartare and lamb rump; my husband ordered black pudding and pork belly. The souces with both main courses were thick, shiny and flavoursome. The waitress was good and knowledgeable about the wine. However, we think that the manager did not foresee how busy the restaurant would be on a Bank Holiday Sunday: even though only half of the restaurant was booked and used, people without booking were sent away and there was a long wait for food. Excuses of kitchen being overloaded were made but no compensation was offered. Our wait was 30 min-ish for the starter but the table of 4 dining next to us waited for an hour. So, delicious food and we will be going back but the service let it down a bit.
I do like the quality of the food at Cote; perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, with just a little touch of 'je ne sais quoi'. And the staff are very pleasant, the surroundings clean, a pleasant atmosphere in which to eat and converse.
Excellent food on our first visit to the Chester restaurant. Service of drinks might have been better but overall the experience was good with very friendly staff.
Delicious meal with excellent service again. The drinks were a little slow but I think they were a little surprised at how busy they were. Highly recommend this newly opened restaurant P.s it's much bigger than it looks.!
Delicious food and courteous and friendly service- all in a very lovely setting. The duck main course was absolutely mouth watering. Drinks are relatively expensive, hence not a rating of 6.
The Food was excellent. Waiters were very quick to bring menu and wine. However, we should have asked for a little more time after the main course as we felt somewhat hurried into pudding. We will return though as the fish pie was divine as was the iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce and my partner enjoyed his crème caramel.
We are regular visitors to Cote's in Brighton and decided visit the new branch in Chester Saturday evening . Everything was fantastic from start to finish. Great food, very friendly and knowledgeable staff and lovely ambience, couldn't fault anything.
Went last night with friends a lovely little restaurant good atmosphere & location. Food was really delicious and good sized portions presented very nicely. service friendly and nothing too much trouble. Great French restaurant would go again.
Very good service and excellent food. Staff were helpful and attentive when required. We ordered from the a la carte menu and weren't disappointed. There were four of us and we all had different starters and main courses. Each of us were delighted with our choices. A good bottle of merlot complemented all the food. Can't wait to go back.
Staff attentive, surroundings impressive as Cote has done a great conversion job on this place and food good. Only French wine on menu which is a shame. Otherwise no criticisms.
Very attentive service - thank you. We dined downstairs, which is comfortable and has its own character and we're impressed with the upstairs dining area too - so much space.
Class really great service, lovely table on the veranda with a great view of the period buildings. Would recommend this to every one. Highly recommend the onion soup for starter
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent venue. Visited on 13 August in a party of four and couldn't fault our experience. Can definitely recommend this restaurant.
Coates offer a really large gluten free menu, almost as many options as the ordinary one! The food was fantastic and the service was great too.
A very relaxed atmosphere. Helpful, friendly service. The food was all excellent and the menu very varied. The lunchtime set menu is very good value for money.
2nd visit to this fantastic restaurant. Staff, ambience and food as good as ever. The food was delicious. Cote is, in our opinion, one of the very best restaurants in Chester. It is at the top of our list for fine dining and quality. So glad they have established themselves in Chester.
Food and service was excellent on our third visit to cote,we had friends visiting from out of town and they both thoroughly enjoyed themselves and wished they had a cote near to them.We will be back soon.
Restaurant very new, so fairly quiet, loved the building, staff very helpful, and will certainly return. Have now booked for Cote in Liverpool for later in the month.
Excellent food excellent staff. They have a lovely spot in Chester with an olde world atmosphere downstairs and a modern one upstairs. Hope they're successful in Chester.
We dined as a party of four on 20th May. This was our first visit to a Cote Brasserie restaurant and our first impressions as we entered the building were very favourable. The receptionist was polite and helpful and showed us to our table immediately. Our waitress was very polite and very efficient, the menu was excellent as was the food and wine and the prices were very competitive. Overall, a very pleasant dining experience and we would certainly return in the future.
Most enjoyable evening. Excellent ambiance and great welcome by staff. Very good menu with lots of choice. Wonderful food and very good service. My guest were very impressed. My third time and certainly not my look last.
The food was very tasty and the service was good. Plenty of choice on the menu. The restaurant itself is very pleasant for either a family meal or romantic evening.
Great service (Courtney, we had three. courses each (there were four of us) all of us were very happy with the style of food and the quality of the food. Atmosphere was appropriate a mix of coup,es and groups of friends.
Food was nice. Portion size was just ok. Could have been a little bigger for the price. Food tasted lovely. Coffees aren't very big and are gone in a gulp.
good value and great service but only ground floor has "Chester" atmosphere .loos including the disabled ( strangely up a outside ramp ? ) were all upstairs
The food, price and service here at Cote was excellent, we would highly recommend to friends and family. The early evening menu is excellent value for money and the quality is very good. The lady waiting on was friendly and very attentive.
Good menu choice for lunch. Great service and very good value. Lovely location too.i would definitely recommend and look forward to going back again. Thanks
The service was friendly and efficient and the menu varied and of good quality. Surroundings were interesting, but one had to be careful of low arches!
Great food at reasonable prices. Atmosphere good at this new restaurant in Chester. I deal for the new Theatre opening on Thursday. Looking forward to many day at Cote.
Great service, great food and good atmosphere. Would highly recommend! We had scallops and prawns for our starters, followed by pork belly and Breton fish stew which was gorgeous!
