Consistently good food, service attentive but not intrusive. Very good value for where it is and very handy for eating prior to going to the theatre
Very busy, lively restaurant. Food and service always good. Set menus excellent value for money. Good choice for a pre theatre meal. Would definitely recommend.
Super food, but spoilt because we had to wait over 30 minutes for our main course, and then had to rush as we were going to the theatre.
Great food, friendly and quick service, just what we were looking for. We will certainly visit Côte again and recommend the restaurant. Thank you very much
A lovely birthday meal had - thanks to all the staff for their wonderful service (and the complimentary bellinis!) I love this restaurant in particular.
All lovely - can't do 25 words each time so this must do. Very irritating to waste time when it must be 25 words - if this continues pease don't expect me to rate again.
We had the set pre-theatre menu - a great value £12.50 for 2 courses. Food was served quickly and was of a high standard. Enough choice so everyone could have what they wanted - moules, steak, fish etc. Tasty 'fast' bistro-quality food. Efficient & friendly service
Côte never disappoints. Chicken special was delicious as was the duck. We have eaten in the Eton and Sevenoaks branches which are of equally high standard as regards food and service.
Friendly and efficient staff and a lovely pre theatre meal with complimentary drink - who could ask for anything more on our annual visit to London
Great service and dependable food. All in all a really nice experience, would recommend for a pre theatre bite to eat and fantastic central location.
This restaurant convenient for many theatres always serves good food with excellent service - we have never had a bad night here in all the times we have been.
Brilliant food and amazing service. Staff worked so hard and it was very busy. We had a lovely table and the whole experience was a delight. Thank you Juan for looking after us.
Always great value. Lovely food and excellent service. It was packed when we arrived but service was good. 'Lost' waiter a bit further in to evening as we were only stragglers remaining in basement tables, but wasn't a problem; nice not to be rushed out!
Food very good, and hot , when it arrived. They were VERY slow with orders and having ordered bread with our drinks it never arrived for which there was much apology. However, to add insult to injury, it still appeared on our bill!!
We had a pre Theatre meal, it was very busy but the staff coped really well, we had a lovely meal which was great value.
The food was delicious and the service was very good. Restaurant has a nice ambience. The set menu is very fairly priced with 2 and 3 course options.
Lovely food and friendly service. Good value for money and selection of vegetarian/fish dishes as well as meat. The interior is comfortable and contemporary and the location is very good for theatres and galleries
Usually faultless food and service ,not this time .Waiter not present 15 mins wait for our wine and not a smile or how are things .Food great as usual
The service was very quick and the food very good. The table was a little cramped but the restaurant was full at lunchtime so reserving was a good idea m
Good meal, set menu. Good value for money. Staff efficient as was very busy went we went in. Good job we booked as they were turning people away
Had a pre-theatre meal here. I have been to Cote in Bristol a number of times and the set menu is fabulous. The Covent Garden Cote was unfortunately very average and the food a little tasteless. No cold white wine by the glass so given ice to cool it down. Would not go to this Cote again.
Visited for a pre theatre meal, two of us. Good choice; good service; good food; good ambience - there's not much more one can say
Good service; friendly. Did not feel rushed but had plenty of time to leave for the theatre. Enjoyed the moules frites. But the pissaladerie was too hard to enjoy fully, peach crumble was lovely. Prices are competitive. Enough choice for my fussy teenager too. Will definitely be back.
Good service as ever. It was busy so we had to wait a little longer than expected, but the food was excellent with a very good atmosphere and friendly service.
An excellent meal served by helpful and courteous staff.I think that says it all and ther is no need for further words. Thank you again
Food was very good and always arrives promptly. Great if you're dashing off to the theatre afterwards! Wine by the glass does not come out as chilled as if you'd bought a bottle.
Really friendly staff and hugely appreciated a dedicated gluten free menu for our friend. This made the experience as the set menu dishes were otherwise quite poor. Definitely poorer than other branches we've eaten at. Chicken and gratin potato had tough overcooked meat and potatoes sloshed across the plate. We could tell we were at the tail end of a busy lunch service. Minimal frisée salad leaves in the set menu starter so the poached egg just spread around the base of the bowl. No veg at all on main coursesMaybe add £1 or so to the price if that's what it takes to be more balanced or nutritious as it would still be great value.
Good service and great value, as always. Had set priced menu choice very good and food well presented and tasty. Would not hesitate to visit again.
Very good value pre-theatre set menu. Good service and my steak frites was wonderful and my friends really enjoyed the moules frites. We had a lovely table by the window as we requested .
Pre theatre menu offers a good choice of dishes and is great value. Between 6 and 7 the place is buzzing and service can feel a little rushed but this is small gripe when considering the quality of the food and the price.
Let down only by the time it took to attract someone's attention to do the bill. Not good for a theatre-land location. Otherwise, food and service very good.
Excellent restaurant with exceptional and friendly service Excellent value 3 course menu. Great location near to shops and theatres. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic lunch
Restaurant was super busy, friendly staff, good service except they forgot about our dessert after we ordered it and it took a while for someone to come when we wanted to pay so we could get the theatre. Otherwise all good.
Excellent all around, fabulous food, service and the house white wine was also beautiful. The choice on all courses is second to none including variety of vegetarian options.
Excellent dinner yesterday evening, attentive and efficient staff, good value for money. I had booked the round table by the window for 4 guests, excellent positions in the restaurant. St Matins Lane Cote never disappoints!
Always very busy and full gives indication of success. Extremely reasonable prices. Service appreciated we were going on to a theatre Will be going back there
Great food and value. They change the menu each month and the steak and fries is always good. Good ambience and service. I wish they would alter the dessert choices though- that's my only criticism.
It is great but just too busy between 530 and 7 Food was fabulous as usual and service fine but he had so many customers all at the same time
Good food and fast and efficient service as the restaurant was full with pre theatre diners - we will be back next time we are at the theatre.
Excellent lunch and service. Definitely recommend. We were going to the theatre which we made in good time. Would definitely recommend. Have tried other Cote Bistros in London which are good.
Food was lovely and restaurant was very busy- this meant a few mistakes were made with ordering but the staff were friendly and tried their best. Will come again!
The whole experience was excellent. Food, service and atmosphere was top notch. We have been to several Cote restaurants before but this is among the best
Generally very good. Friendly welcome when I arrived. Understood that my party would follow later and may be fewer than planned. Staff suitably attentive and helpful. A couple of issues stop me from giving 6 : one serving was returned since it was not what was ordered; took a while to catch the waiter's eye but once done they reacted quickly. Food well presented and enjoyable. And given the location extremely well priced. Will go again when next in town.
Excellent friendly service- delicious proper freshly prepared food - cosy atmosphere - great central location- the perfect place for catching up ! Thank you I
Nice meal and good service. Only minor issue is the noise level. Restaurant is very conveniently placed for pre or post Theatre meal. Reasonably priced.
There were 4 of us in the party. Both of the rib-eye steaks I was served with (the second one being a replacement for the first) were tough and tasteless. Eventually I was served with a (free) minute steak as compensation. OK, but nothing more. My friend Alan's escalope of veal - UNlike one he had had at Cote, St. Albans 2 days previously - was also tasteless. His wife's seafood dish was fine, as was the 4th person in our party's Goat's cheese salad. My ice cream dessert disappointed because both scoops, one chocolate, one vanilla, were half the usual size and the vanilla one was served as soft as butter. I am a frequent patron of Cote restaurants but this visit fell well short of the expected standard.
Excellent all round - pre theatre dining! Service was superb - staff are always polite, efficient and seem to remember everything! We had a delicious supper and are looking forward to the rest ov the evening!
Lunch time visit. We had the pre theatre menu. It was the usual good standard of food and service. A very pleasant ambiance, busy but not too noisy.
We had 3 course special. Very good value for money. Restaurant was very hot and there was no air conditioning in the section of restaurant that we were seated in. Also - incredibly noisy. We had to shout at each other to be heard.
Bustling and lively in the heart of London's theatre land. Great for a quick supper before or after a show or lunch after a visit to the National Gallery.
