unfortunately when we arrived there was a problem with the Gas in the kitchen..so menu was reduced to two types of Chicken! the soup was lovely and the chicken was fine too as was the wine..nice touch would have been a glass of wine to all for the inconvenience of the menu... reminded me of fawlty towers posh night the ducks off!!!
This is a nicely-decorated historic setting. Our table next to the window was less noisy than most, though the tables are uncomfortably close together. The food was of high quality and was good value. Service was exemplary in pleasantness and expedition.
Service was efficient & swift - attentive & friendly. Food well-prepared & delicious - also a generous amount. A most enjoyable experience which we fully intend to repeat!
Had an enjoyable meal. Menu was just right for people going to the theater. Service was good and efficient. Was recommended the restaurant by a friend and I would recommend to others.
Even if you book a table, it won't make any different. We still needed to wait for over 10 minutes. After the main course we asked for the dessert menu, but it never came. ( the waitress was busy chatting with other male customers) The food was OK, but it wasn't one of good ones we have experienced in the past.
I think Cote is an excellent mid-price group of restaurants, and after visiting a number of branches we have rarely, if ever, been disappointed. This lunchtime meeting of former work colleagues was enjoyable and successful, enhanced by the service provided by the Tavistock Street staff.
The service was quick and courteous. The tap water which was served was unpleasantly warm. I was surprised that a restaurant which claims to be french in style did not serve bread automatically with the dinner. The food was however quite tasty.
Super pre-theatre menu! Very busy so do book. Great service. We had a great time. This restaurant is close to The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
A group of work colleagues from the 1960s meet at Cote at least six times a year. We always enjoyed a delicious lunch which is excellent value for money.
We always have a great experience at Cote Brasserie wherever we go. Consistently good, the food is superb, the customer service is second to none and the atmosphere is great.
Great atmosphere. Great food - the moules frites were delicious. Pre-theatre menu is excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend and would eat here again.
Fantastic friendly staff, could not do enough for us. Went with 88 year old parents for their 'after theatre' meal for 65th anniversary, they were delighted with the evening. Thank you
We arrived quite late for our meal but the staff members were very accommodating and ensured we were served promptly. The meal was delicious and we did not miss the theatre. Thank you Cote Brasserie.
Very good service and as always, good food. The restaurant was busy but we had a lovely table by the window. The house Red wine was perfectly acceptale for a lunchtime drink. Smashing Puds!
This branch gets very busy so best to book.. Very good service and meal this time - previous visit fell short of usual cote standards but this time back up there. Good value, lots of choice and very handy for West End shows.
Good good, decent price for the pre-theatre fixed menu. The only issue is cramming too many tables as close together as possible, it would be more pleasant if a bit more spacious.
Great food and superb atmosphere. My guests were amazed, they never expected to eat such exquisite food in the UK. In short: I had a fantastic birthday lunch.
I booked the day before online and we arrived for a pre-matinee meal. We arrived and we're shown to a lovely table in the window. We had cloud lemonade to drink as it was such a beautiful sunny day followed by the minute steak and frites. We had creme caramel to follow. The food was beautiful and so reasonable would definitely go again and highly recommend.
We've visited Cote restaurants before and have never been disappointed. This was again a lovely venue, excellent menu and great value for money. Staff were lovely...great night
Excellent. Good food served promptly. We had brunch and the choices were very good. Pleasant welcome and service. This is my second visit to Cote and I will certainly go again.
Friendly attentive staff, great food. Family friendly and a designated Gluten Free menu. Perfect location to combine with a West End show. I'd definitely go back.
Good choice on the pre theatre menu and value for money. If eaten in Cote before the portions are smaller but at the price and for the speed of delivery, (essential for theatre trip,) you can't complain
The food was not up to the usual Cote standard. One fish dish had no veg or potatoes with it and the waiter did not point this out to us and my goats cheese and roasted vegetable salad had hardly any roasted vegetables. Two course not up to standard. The restaurant was. Very busy so may be the reason.
The food/service was fine. Our only complaint was that we weren't provided with the set menu until after we had ordered. Three of us ordered ahead because two guests were delayed and one of the three had time restraints. The set menu was provided to the two late arrivals but not the three. Probably just an oversight but annoying nevertheless.
Great service and good food as always with the pre theatre menu being good value for money, would recommend this restaurant to any one visiting Covent Garden.
Gas broken so only allowed cold menu items! Stressed manager kept pushing us out the way to test fire alarm. Nice waitresses though! Food average.
Usual Cote set-up but perhaps too many tables; far too busy at 6.45 pm. Table not ready and had to wait 5-10 minutes, which might have been a problem if we were going to the theatre. Very friendly and reasonably efficient service but the staff are struggling with the volume of guests between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm. Food pretty reliable, as always, although new potatoes instead of frites forgotten and bread slow to come. Overall, a good experience - apart from the usual appalling noise problem. Why can't restaurants address this problem - so easily achieved. Prefer other Cotes.
Good range, great price. Set menu requires a side. Very busy and service had to be pushed to get out in good time for theatre performance even though we had 2 courses and 1hr 20..
Good food. But ordered olives, bread, espresso and couple other small things that never came (but werent on the bill) and had to get up to go to the bar to order drinks and the bill. Seemed like there was a mad rush and lots of attention during pretheatre time, and then when the restaurant emptied the staff breathed a sigh of relief and sat back, forgetting we were sat round the corner behind the bar and still needed serving. But still good food and kind service
4 of us ate on Friday evening & enjoyed the Pre-theatre 3 course menu. Delightful (Italian) waiter could not have been more efficient. From our Kir royale through to coffee we rated the menu highly - excellent choices, hot and perfectly cooked dishes. Only criticism was my disappointing melon starter: although juicy, it was rather hard and lacking in flavour.
Food excellent, service less so. Restaurant was busy, which is understandable given its location but staff seemed to be overwhelmed and a little stressed and we waited a very long time for our desserts and then the bill to be brought. My daughter wanted to reduce the amount of the service charge as a result but I was unwilling to do so as I could see how hard the staff were working. I have eaten at various branches of this chain and always had positive experiences previously. I would return to this restaurant in the hope that this was a one-off.
Normally the service is very good. but last night it was poor. We had not finish are starters before main course come . Plates starter left and after that service slow. Food good as normal.
Waiter was charming and efficient. Had a Presecco while waiting for my friends and table , food and experience just right. Many thanks to all at Cote.
Lovely meal. Restaurant was very busy, hence a little noisy but that's positive too! Friendly staff and good value. We would recommend this place to couples and families.
We had booked a table for four for 18:30 on a Saturday. Although the place was very busy the service was excellent and the quality of the food (pre-theatre menu) was good and great value for money. We've eaten at a number of Cote restaurants in London and cannot recommend highly enough, the food and service are consistently of a high standard.
Excellent service and food as ever. Good portion sizes. None of this nouvelle cuisine crap. The great thing about this brasserie is the consistency. They maintain the highest standards.
Visited this restaurant pre theatre on what was a very wet evening. We were allocated a table near the door but immediately felt we were in a strong draught. We asked for an alternative table and were immediately moved to a table in the window which was much better - no draught and nice to watch the world go by. Our drinks arrived quickly as did our food order. Menu choice was good and our meals were tasty and good value for money. Only real complaint was the ladies toilet facilities - only two cubicles both very small and right next to the kitchen. The toilet seat in one cubicle was incorrectly fitted so the lid fell forwards and hit you on the back as you sat down. The toilet in the other cubicle was blocked and unusable. A queue quickly built up for the one usable toilet. Otherwise a lovely restaurant experience.
Took a friend there for a late lunch, as I am always talking about this restaurant. She is not one for chain restaurants, but was thoroughly surprised by the quality of food, professionalism of staff and service. She enjoyed the food and I was glad that this restaurant did not disappoint. The only reason I gave a five star rating instead of six was that the bottled water was not chilled, but the staff did replenish our glasses with plenty of ice. Otherwise it was PERFECT!! Thank You!
Had a fabulous meal, and as always the service was excellent. Complimentary let royels, as it was my birthday, which were lovely. We have been going to the vote restaurant in covent garden for over 10 years and always try to find one when ever we are out doing a theatre trip.
The service was very good as was the food. We were shown to a very comfortable window seat. Unfortunately I had to question the bill but this was soon rectified without issue.

We booked a table for six to have breakfast before going to the opera. The food was good but my wife's breakfast was not particularly warm. Perhaps having six orders to produce at once was the cause of this. Service was good particularly indealing with our various requests for type of breakfast, juices and coffees. Unfortunately we had to remind the waiting staff about the fruit juices afetr we were almost at the end of eating our breakfasts. Overall it was good but could do better.
We booked a table at the cote tavistock street as we were attending the royal ballet school summer performance. There were four of us in the party and for two of the guests it was their first visit to a cote restaurant both were incredibly impressed by Pre theatre set menu and the wide variety of dishes on offer. Needless to say both the staff and the food were up to the usual excellent standard, so once again I would like to pass on my compliments to both the waiting room and kitchen staff that create such a wonderful atmosphere and turning a dining experience into a memorable occasion.
Good food and excellent service.staff very friendly. Perfect location for a pre theatre meal with friends. Cote is always our first choice. Well done Cote.
We enjoyed the pre-theatre menu which was served promptly, and was appetising. We were well looked after and were not hurried, bearing in mind the restaurant was very busy.
Quality of food and drink and service good and speedy but the restaurant was so extremely noisy it was difficult to have any conversation with companions.
varied menu great service good vegetarian choice lovely waitress Vanessa at Covent garden very sweet great locations cloth napkins good cutlery fab atmosphere excellent value
Great service as usual at the Côte Brasserie, Covent garden. The food is good and the staff are always very pleasant. Nothing is too much trouble.
Booking was for 3 people, pre-theatre on a Thursday at 5pm. Lovely friendly and attentive staff, a credit to the restaurant. Food was good and great value. Thank you! Toilets unfortunately situated, right next to the kitchen and are very small and there is a lot of waiter traffic, (this is in no way a negative comment against staff, rather a notice for the owner).
Generally good overall staff courteous and attentive but ran out of Camembert for the main on the set menu which was a disappointment. Being a cheeese I thought it would have been a staple! For a French restaurant
One of the waiters was a bit rude. The garlic butter for the steak came late and straight from the fridge. Experience was OK but not as good as Oxford Circus.
