Good meal with attentive staff Space was a little tight although it did not spoil our enjoyment of the meal in a restaurant that was really lively
We were a family group of 5 having lunch - we all had a great time, lively fun atmosphere, delicious food. Will definitely come again.
Upon arrival, instally seated and served with drinks... one of which was free! Order was taken quickly and food arrived soon after! Meals were amazing!
Attentive service and excellent value. We ate off the specials menu (as we often do). Great fish soup; reasonable steak if slightly sinewy. We recommend joining their Rewards programme; we will certainly return.
Excellent value for money. Ideal place to enjoy pre-theatre meal as service efficient but not rushed. Have eaten here before and also good for regular seasonal changes to the set menus.
Good quailty food at a very reasonabe price, served quickly by a friendly, helpful staff. We visit london annually, and after eating here last year, had no hesitation about returning here.
Was heaving due to the pre-theatre crowd, and despite booking we were bundled into a distant corner despite other tables being available. Service was sloppy, the waiter not paying much attention. Food was tasty, but not the best visit to Cote.
At Cote the food is excellent and very good value, and the service usually quick and efficient, but on this occasion everything went wrong. The Tavistock Street restaurant was very busy and had no record of our booking made weeks before, but fortunately managed to find us a table. The service was so slow that it took 40 minutes before our starter arrived - even though we were having the "quick" pre-theatre menu! - and then the main course was brought when we'd only just been given the starter! Because we were going to the theatre we consequently did not have enough time for dessert. We were given a complimentary coffee, and not charged for an additional vegetable. Cote needs to focus on resolving these issues rapidly if it is to retain its reputation and customers.
A reliable favourite - good food at reasonable prices and the service is always very friendly and efficient. Charming location and a warm friendly interior.
Good food good service will go again great location breakfast that sets u up for he day didn't eat till late at night after this breakfast
Great food, as always, with good range of choice in th a la carte and set price menus. Staff were lovely and we were well looked after. Nice atmosphere.
Delicious food, excellent service. This Cote is very glamorously decorated and it really is an impressive place to dine. Staff are brilliant and very friendly. Can't recommend highly enough.
This is my favourite Cote restaurant, which I have been going to for a few years now, as the service is exceptional in every way!
Good food served by very attentive and pleasant staff. We enjoyed the pre theatre menu and all three courses were presented well and served promptly.
Excellent brasserie food with quick and friendly service. Good value and a wide choice of dishes. Also nice to have iced water brought straight away.
Always have great service in this restaurant. The food is fantastic value. We went for the pre-theatre set menu which was great value. Staff are also super friendly and quick. Really recommend.
Theirs not a lot I can say because I go back their Time and time again It's such good value and the food and service is great
Top class food and value. Very professional staff. Lively atmosphere. Great dining. Amazing vfm for central London. But that's typical for other central London cote venues and why they are so popular.
Excellent staff. Great food. Could not have done more for us. To be that busy and still make every table feel special is a real credit.
Food and service good all a bit cramped and too close to next tables. Use cote wherever possible as always sure of a happy experience.
Tasty food, well presented. Good value set menu with enough choices. Service was good in spite of the restaurant being very busy with pre-theatre diners - including us! Very convenient location too.
Everyone was really nice and accommodating and they helped my friends surprise me for my birthday. Great food and lovely staff! Definitely will come back.
Another great meal at a Cote Brasserie, food and service were excellent. It was our daughter's birthday and they brought her a little treat, it's the extra touches which make the difference.
The food was good and reasonably priced The waiting staff were attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food. You might want to take a torch as it was very dark in there and difficult even to read the menu.
Food was well cooked and presented attractively. The items on the menu are sold at a very good price. Efficient and friendly service throughout the meal.
Cote is our favourite venue for pre-theatre. The service and the food were first class. Needless to say we will return indeed we will be back on Friday!
Tasty food. Efficient and friendly staff. Advisable to book between five and seven o clock. It gets very busy as in the middle of theatre land.
It was crowded with the pre-show rush but we expected that and the staff were working hard to cope. The choice of food was wide and what the 5 of us had was all good. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the rush (until about 7.00 p.m.)
Great food as always & excellent & friendly service. Cote in Tavistock Street in Covent Garden is 2 minutes from the Royal Opera House & in the heart of Theatreland in the West End. Perfect for a pre or post theatre meal.
Had a reservation for 7. We were squished into what was clearly a table for 6. Food was good but as we were crowded into a small space it was difficult to enjoy.
I would normally give Cote top marks. We have never had a bad experience at one of their restaurants. However on this occasion the service was not up to its usual standard and the main course was not as hot as it could have been. We ended up rushing due to the time taken to bring food. Will be back as we LOVE their food but hope for better service next time.
We had the 3-course pre-theatre lunch. Excellent value at £13.95. Whitebait for two, sea bream (could have been served with some potatoes!) and steak frites, creme caramel and apple crumble - all dishes first-rate ingredients and very well cooked. A glass of muscadet and one of chinon were very good. Total bill for two including service was £43. Service was friendly and efficient, and we enjoyed a relaxing hour and a half lunch before going to our theatre showing. The one jarring note was that when we arrived we were given the choice of three 2-tops - one beside an occupied 4-top, the other two intruded upon by a pillar. We asked if we could sit at an adjacent 4-top (the restaurant was almost empty) but that was refused, so we chose the least uncomfortable 2-top. By the time we left, the restaurant was half full, and we might easily have been given any of half a dozen vacant 4-tops. We won't go back to this restaurant as a couple just because there are so many (TOO many) uncomfortable 2-tops.
I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant., My wife and I went for a pre theatre meal and had the most enjoyable time. The choice of menu was excellent, but the evening was made special by the really pleasant and welcoming staff, and although the place was extremely busy, nothing was too much trouble. Particular mention for the Manager (trainee) who was exceptional in his approach, and we will certainly return at an early date.
Great food. Friendly service. Don't bother about requesting additional requests when booking online. They completely ignore dietary requirements and you end up repeating at the time of visiting.
Staff and service, food, wine etc. all very good, as usual. Very relaxed and enjoyable pre-ballet Friday brunch. Recommend in general but especially for anyone wanting proximity to ROH.
We had a great meal before the theatre- the food was delicious and the service was excellent. There was nothing more we could ask for and will certainly go there again.
Great staff and great food. Wide and varied menu. I visit this restaurant regularly and every visit is always a success. The Praline Crepe is superb

Very Central for pre theatre dinner always very busy and like all the Cote chain the Al La Carte menu could do with an update.
Good atmosphere. Food was excellent. The three of us had different dishes for each course and all were excellent. It was my Australian relatives first visit to Cote despite having been in London over a year and she really enjoyed the experience.
We appreciate that this is a busy London restaurant, however the tables offered now on two occasions for 5 & 6 persons were really too small to accommodate our party. The restaurant service again perhaps due to the volume is very slow. The one disappointment on this occasion was that the camembert cheese main dish some of us looked forward to was already unavailable at 4.15 on a Saturday afternoon! Having said this we normally rate Cote high on our preference.
As usual a really good pre- theatre meal, excellent Waiter from Lithuania, most attentive and served us well. Only adverse comment tables so close together, sometimes this can be an advantage and interesting conversations can be struck up, but not this time !!! slightly more breathing space would be appreciated by this loyal Diner!!!!!!!
excellent throughout. Our arrival was anticipated and the table was ready for us on our arrival. The menu was tempting making it difficult to choose as a number of dishes would have been very acceptable. Service maintained the standard and the bill was reasonable in terms of London prices generally. I think value for money is a major attraction to Cote for A lot of people.
Sadly there was a problem with the kitchen and my guests did not want any of the few things available on the menu so we left. Staff were very apologetic.
Excellent food and service on a Sunday night in this restaurant. Really tasty French cuisine and some delicious wines. A really buzzing and enjoyable evening.
Unfortunately there were no cooking facilities available when I arrived and the menu was therefore extremely limited and so had to abandon lunch. Shame because Cote is usually very good.
The food was good and exceptional value. Service attentive but not overly so. My friends and I know we can always rely on vote and that is why we come again and again.
Great service- we were on our way to a matinee performance so time was critical to us - and delicious, as ever, food! Staff were helpful, seated us straight away and somehow must have prioritised our order, which was served in quicksticks! Thank you, Cote, for another lovely Lunch!
We had a lovely evening at Cote Covent Garden - staff so very polite and helpful - meal was great - I would highly recommend
Nice service and interesting choice on the set menu. BUT we were stuck at a table in a side corridor, very hugga mugga, and cramped! Penny P
Good food quick service which was necessary as needed to get to the theatre . Would definitely recommmend for other persons wanting good quick meal.
