Côte Dorking

I was really disappointed with my visit to Cote Dorking. I usually go to a local one in Godalming and have been happy, but this time was a little underwhelming. The starter was over cooked and quite greasy and although I did mention it to the waitress she just apologised and said she would tell the chef. But as she walked away I heard her shout to a member of staff behind the bar area about the ‘over cooked food’ The main was equally underwhelming and whilst eating we were never asked if we were happy with the food so I mentioned it to the same waitress again and told her the problem. She was again unhelpful and in fact tied to tell me that the olives were hot and cooked and I may not be used to them. To which I replied I know how olives are supposed to taste and it’s not like that. The service was poor and we won’t go back there.

It was absolutely brilliant but we expected an complimentary aperitif with our dinner which never arrived....apart from that we loved the steaks and the wine

Lovely staff. Really friendly and great atmosphere, even with all restrictions in place. Food is consistently good . Love Côte.

As good as ever but with added safety measures in place

Not enough serving staff. Waited 30 minutes to be given the desert menu. Didn’t choose one, shame the main was delicious. The poor waitress was all over the place, making cocktails, serving etc

The waitress was very attentive and sweet and helpful and made our lunch enjoyable. The rocket on my plate was wilted and looked a little old but apart from that the food was lovely! We were sat on a lovely outside terrace which was so nice Thank you!

Superb food, great service, recommend the mussels and rib eye steak.

Great restaurant service quality of food and safe COVID measures

Just had a lovely brunch. Food was excellent and the restaurant felt very clean. Lots of hand sanitizer around and it felt safe and comfortable with enough space to observe social distancing. Very pleased with the food so overall a really nice visit.

Very Covid aware with all staff wearing clear face visors and tables and chairs sanitised between customers. Outside tables set 2m apart - felt very safe. Service excellent - would definitely go again, 😁

Hi Cote, my friend and I had a lovely time, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My only thought would be, that there was no hand sanitizer when entering the restaurant, that I could see. And also the menu’s, I think maybe I would have been happier to see them laminated, so they can be cleaned each time.

Nice evening though the restaurant still lacked enough people to give it a really good atmosphere.

Our first restaurant meal out since lockdown , felt relaxed , enjoyed as always the delicious food . No issues . All went smoothly. Well done !

The toasted bread on french onion soup was to hard even the soup not make it soft so in my opinion I think was microwave sorry but this is it service good thank you

Superb ravioli, fantastic Rhubarb martini, excellent service. Only comment I could make against a lovely meal was the banana crepe, it was a case of chocolate overkill. Another time I would ask for a plain crepe and the chocolate to be served separately.

It was lovely to get back to Dorking cote -we missed it! I asked about David who was the manager and informed he’s at Reigate now. I think it’s a big loss to Dorking! He really made the place - he created an energy and warmth about place. I’m sad he’s gone and he will be missed. Mostly everything was good. The butter tasted a bit strange and I wondered if you have changed brand. It didn’t taste very nice. It was bit more expensive as you don’t have the formulae offer anymore but we still enjoyed

So nice to have the restaurant back open again. The staff and food are excellent. They are very welcoming to you and take great care in dealing with the current situation. The staff make.it feel.almost normal again. Food is superb and full of flavour. We look forward to going back again and again.

Delicious food, professional, friendly and prompt service! We were reassured also to see that the necessary pandemic precautions were being taken seriously - although it would be good to also have an antibacterial hand gel for people to use on their way in and out.

Delighted Dorking CÔTE has reopened...managed to get a table for their re-opening night...warm welcome form all the team there, most of whom were there before 'lockdown'. New menus, newly refurbished, but the same fantastic food, and superb service. We selected one or two favourites, plus some new options, and everyone was delighted with their choices...whether steaks, chicken or fish (the tuna nicoise was lovely), which had been preceded with a variety of starters, the baked crotin being popular, as were the Pork rillettes..chilled wines, lovely evening, thank you

So lovely to have our local Cote open for business again. The usual excellent food was available and service also very good.

So pleased to be back and delighted to catch up with the staff, who must have had such a difficult time during te lockdown. Food and wine excellent.

It was great to be back at our local Cote, and the food and service were as good as ever. We have enjoyed Cote delivery during lockdown but it’s so much nicer to be waited on.

Relaxed impromptu lunch booked 30 mins beforehand. As a full time wheelchair user the Cote Dorking is an excellent venue. Staff helpful and friendly. Food reasonably priced and tasty. Would have got 5 stars but it took 20 mins before they realised they did not have the ingredients for our celebration cocktails.

Great service, waiters and staff are excellent. Food delicious. We always love our visit to Cote, Dorking
