We love dining at Esher Cote. Great food and wine, good service, as always.
I LOVE Cote. Everything is right about it and that’s why I chose to have a birthday meal there. However something interesting happened over desert. I rather fancied the cheese platter which I have had a few times before, so duly ordered it. However when it arrived this was the conversation that ensued with the lovely waitress; Us - nice selection of cheeses, aren’t there usually some crackers or biscuits to accompany it? Waitress - No, it’s just cheese Us - that’s a bit weird, loads of cheese on its own and nothing to eat it with? Waitress - That’s how the french have it Us - but seriously, nothing to eat cheese with? I’ve had this desert in other Cote’s and I’m sure it comes with some kind of cracker? Waitress - No, definitely just Cheese, I’ll check with the manager. Us - this is crazy, JUST cheese on its own and no accompaniment?? Waitress - yeah lots of people have said the same thing Us - and???? So you see, we are a little perplexed. Perhaps someone from head office could let me know if we were being crazy or if that is the norm nowaday?
We love cote, especially Esher One waitress in particular who has been there a while now is great and her level of service is fantastic (wish I knew her name!)
I am finding more and more when I visit the Cote venues that there is a consistency with quality of service and food and ambiance. Very kind and well trained staff and front of house management. Food reminds me of the way Michelin started restaurants were in France 25 years ago but without the fussy attitude. Well done and keep this standards up!
Excellent service, delicious food and wine. We asked for a quiet table and it was. Such a change from the ghastly noise levels e perienxed in all popular restaurants. I love Cote it never disappoints.
Good food and the waiter was very pleasant and chatty making it feel very comfortable evening for us all. Thanks again Cotes Esher for a lovely birthday meal.
The staff are great, very attentive. I think the food is okay. It does lack a little depth. For example, I had the fish stew and was pleasant but not something you couldn't make at home - my scale of what you would expect. Lamb was okay but not seared. All the things that take time to do and give the extra flavour. It is a great family restaurant and caters for everyone really.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Cote. We really appreciated the complimentary Bellini’s in celebration of our anniversary. The food was really lovely - we especially enjoyed our main courses - and well priced. The service was fantastic and we did not feel rushed at all. The staff were very conscientious and polite. Overall we had a really great time! Thank you.
Great waiter named Aidan Very attentive. Best waiter so far over the years!! Pls cook green beans al dente. Only criticism an extra bottle of wine added to the bill but this was quickly rectified
Very good food and service ... Will definitely come back again :).. Will definitely recommend to family, friends and colleagues. Keep up the hard work :).
A very meal discreetly served and cooked beautifully. My friends enjoyed their steak and lamb. Lovely vegetables.
Great food and great service. Delicious food cooked beautifully.
Good quality but small portions. Attentive service and a good menu but left still feeling hungry. Atmosphere was good and it was quiet and a good choice of tables available when I dined with my partner. Shame to go somewhere to eat and leave feeling unsatisfied
The tastiest scallops, delicious duck and a fantastic raspberry creme brulee together with a beautiful and yummy complimentary rhubarb martini all served by friendly and professional staff - what better way to celebrate our anniversary.
Normally a good venue for meeting friends - but this time a wrongly placed order meant that two of the group were served, while the third was served a hot side order but not his main dish. That did not arrive for almost 20 minutes As for the food, a steak was over cooked, as was a sea bream. The third was proclaimed “OK, I suppose”. Although the waitress was very apologetic, this visit was nowhere as good as usual. A great disappointment. *to cover the misorder/delay, no charge was made for a glass of wine and three coffees.
The Manager and our server Lindsay were brilliant. Very attentive and couldn't fault a thing apart from my pork belly which i nearly always have was a bit too salty. My son who is now 12 loved his Birthday experience at Cote Esher.
The food was very acceptable - the service excellent. The branch loses a mark, though, because it was over noisy. But I don’t know what can be done about that apart from gagging diners!
Excellent! Great service, good value for money. Well definitely go again. Had the minute steak and chips with garlic butter I recommend it for a quick meal.
Really good service team here, it makes all the difference too, attentive & informative they complete the experience, the food as ever was really good, the Crab Bisque special was wonderful..
As regular visitors to Cote - Enjoyed our evening, good environment, good service, food could have been slightly better - one of the Fillet Steaks was under cooked, others were very dry. Also food could have been served a little warmer. Great wine
Fantastic meal - excellent food and service especially Daniella who was very helpful. Menu qas very good but would like to see aome new options on desserts!
Firstly I have loved Cote asI have always considered it good value for money and great food. Wasn’t the best experience last night. It was my birthday and am on crutches so messaged the restaurant a week prior requesting a table in the window and also rang the day before to confirm. We got there and this didn’t happen. We had our menus and eventually had to ask for my two birthday offer Kir Royals..These Normally these arrive as your booking site alerts the bar I believe. We complained to the manager about the table and he apologised and offered us a free bottle of wine, which was Vernice of him.I ordered Breton Fishstew which arrived with hardly any sauce so I sent it back. My husband ordered a spinach side and it arrived in a tiny dish and contained two spoonfuls. This cost £3.95 and frankly was an insult. I know times are hard but I could have bought two bags of spinach for this amount of money. Crazy to reduce the size of your side dishes. Further to this when are you going to change your menu. I hadn’t been for a while due to health issues and apart from a special it was the same as last year. Come on Cote you can do better. If Cafe Rouge can change their menu so can you. Heather Howell
Best meal out for ages. Delicious and perfectly cooked. Pleasant and friendly staff.
The Food was delicious. Service excellent but we find it a bit noisy in the ESHER restaurant but we will definitely be regular customers there.
Just the right combination of courses for a light lunch. Not too pricey and good service. House wine is very drinkable too. Will be back soon with friends.
We booked for breakfast online. We had the set breakfast, there was a good choice available, nice ambiance and the staff lovely. Definitely worth a visit!
A perfect evening with friends. Wonderful relaxed meal, delicious food and wine and attentive staff. Despite starting our meal late we were not rushed. Great value
Excellent food very well presented and the early menu is very good value. The staff were charming and polite, The only faintly negative point was that the restaurant was, not surprisingly, very full and the staff were struggling to cope. Service was when it arrived very good but a little bit slow for this reason the staff were hard pressed and were clearly doing their best to cope. I will certainly return on a regular basis.
Cote is a very reliable restaurant. Had a lovely meal with friends, the food and service were good as always.
The best table available and it was much appreciated. However I had with goats cheese salad and have to say there's a lot more salad, particularly soggy leaves than there was goats cheese. My husband had the steak tartare and Breton stew which was very nice and I had the creme brulee which again was delicious.
Excellent food, great service (not overly fussy!) very reasonably priced. Lighting spot on. The set up of the tables is really good you dont have the feeling youre doning with the people next to you. Definitely will be coming again.
Food great, but service a bit slow tonight, but we'll be back, possibly because Easter Saturday is a quiet night and not a lot of diners expected.
We are regulars at Esher Cote and we love going there due to the friendly welcome, superb service and always excellent food. Although we occasionally go to other Cote restaurants this is the one we always return to. As it was my mother's 83rd birthday we were also delighted that the team took the trouble to give us a free aperatif. We don't think there's a better value dining experience and the fact that the menu is regularly updated means there's always plenty of great food to explore. A special mention for our waiter on the night - superb service, always knowing when to ask if everything was ok and when to give us space - a real skill many diners don't appreciate enough. Thank you!
Thank you for a wonderful evening. You made me feel very special for my birthday celebrations. Much appreciated the Complemetary bottle of fizz and we will be back very soon.
Our waiter was fantastic. We are regulars to the chain and live the food service, however there was clearly something different in food quality with this experience. Particularly the celeriac mash I was meant to have with the set steak was in fact potato mash. That’s ideal for me, except that it was extroadinarily bad, cold, lumpy, pre-cooked, heated up mash! Really goes against your usual quality and reputation. The couple next to us had the same thing. On a personal taste point, we went to cote because we love what you normally do, we didn’t like the set menu which we found restricting. Petals on the napkin was a nice touch though.
Food was lovely, tasty and quick service too but cooked to perfection. Very impressed by the waitress who was great, didn't feel pressured but she was there when required and was friendly
There were four of us celebrating a family birthday . Delicious food , good service and a pleasant atmosphere . We thoroughly enjoyed our evening .
We really enjoyed our time there. Our servers were all very friendly and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thanks again, J
One of the worst dining experiences I had in a long time. This Cote restaurant used to be very good and our go to brunch choice. Having sat there for the best part of 20 minutes without anyone taking our order (it was half full), you agreed to take my wife's choice from the brunch menu. The waiter returned 10 minutes later to say if I wanted brunch, I couldn't have poached eggs with my egg royale but it would need to be scrambled or fried. I questioned this as you've either got eggs or not! They then said the kitchen wasn't pleased about the doing a brunch order after 1 and we had to point out if we'd been served in a timely manner it wouldn't have been a problem. We then waited an hour for our food. Everyone else was coming and going having been served and eaten. After chasing twice, our food finally arrived. My duck main was cold, some of it overcooked and my wife's eggs were like hard boiled eggs with the salmon slices hard at the side as they'd obviously been out of the fridge for a while. An absolute disgrace. Pull your socks up.
Friendly and excellent staff as usual - and wonderfully delicious food as always
