Côte Godalming

Great to sit outside in a nice spot. Friendly service. Excellent food with the steaks cooked perfectly. Great bottle of French white wine, you really cannot go wrong.

It was a good quality meal. The dishes are very meaty, not a great deal for a vegetarian. I don't find the desert choices extensive.

Attentive and friendly staff, lovely decor and spacious surroundings, good atmosphere. Good choice of food on the menu. All four of our party were very happy with our meal. Creme Caramel amazing!

Staff were knowledgeable about the menu and gave useful advice. Food was pleasant and about what we expected. Table spillage was not cleared between courses, and there was a significant and obvious mistake with the bill.

Worst service ever had in restaurant waited an hour for first course and then the mains turned up waited further 20 mins same thing happened again . Plus side food was good but awful service

We have had to persevere with our visits and there have been minor hitches in the past. They were well dealt with but should not have happened. Last night's visit was very good with good service and good food. One could not have asked for more!

A Great meal, good service and a relaxed environment. Have been to many Cote restaurants and the Godalming restaurant does not disappoint. Would recommend a visit.

We went on a friday night so it was really busy. We expected a slight delay, which there was and that was fine. However we did feel the staff could have been slightly more attentive. We had to ask for service. But all in all a great meal, great food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Recommend.

I had the eggs Benidict for breakfast . it cooked perfect .. coffee was great and the fresh orange verey good .. the service was also very good . Iam booked again for Friday 5th May for dinner with five friends

They got one of the orders wrong but they did apologise and took the supplement off the bill. Lacks a bit of atmosphere Good value

Good service and great food. Well trained staff delivering a good customer experience. Their French wine may be a little obscure, but usually they are all fine and well-chosen.

Excellent food as usual, good wine and nice ambience. Pleased to have a Cote restaurant in Godalming, nice change from all the Italian/Indian/Chinese etc (which are great to have, but sometimes nice to have good, English food).

Very good meal , although kids menu was limited which made it more difficult to choose for our 3 year old. Will come back again.

Always a nice quiet professional team. Atmosphere is calm and enjoyable with no screaming kids etc :-) Food very nice and I believe Cotes has found a good niche in Godalming.

Great service, great food ! Staff friendly, I would recommend the Cote to anyone - possibly the best place to eat in Godalming. The building is also interesting !

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, good food and good service. Impressed with the space between tables as in other cote restaurants the tables are too close together and you can't hear what your friends are saying.

Lovely outdoor seating. The service was very friendly and efficient and the steak frites to die for! Really glad that Cote came to the village.

We celebrated a family birthday and the meal was excellent as was the service. The staff were attentive and the table was where I had requested. Will definitely go again.

The usual good food and friendly, efficient service. The specials menu always has something seasonal to tempt and you can't beat the steak frites with a side of green beans!

Very nice meal and great service. Good, lively atmosphere. Lovely old building with attractive design inside tucked away just off Godalming high street. Welcoming, efficient staff.

The chargrilled chicken was very good. I was not so keen on the lamb chops. They had too much vinegar on the peas in my opinion.

Good food i enjoyed the evening very much. The service was good however it did take a while for our food to come out but they were busy.

We were very impressed with the staff in your Godalming restaurant. My husband and I do not eat animal products and we were concerned about the limited menu (just onion soup and salad). From the initial phone call the manager was helpful, Irena the waitress greeted us, the charming chef Osama came out as soon as we arrived to discuss our choices and he was able to make us a delicious meal. We will definitely come back as long as Osama is there. I hope other restaurants follow his lead.

Very attentive but mouldy confiture on table put us off - we went for breakfast - everything else was superbd which it shudder be as not that cheap but special

From the ifrst visit to Cote I realised that the staff are always caring and considerate but also efficient. My husband has walking difficulties and the staff help him regularly. Menus are varied and portion size is just right! We intend to visit regularly with friends and family

I have been to cote several times but this was my first time to the Godalming branch. The staff were very helpful and the food and atmosphere was great. Service was rushed though at times - felt like they wanted us out for the next sitting!

As always, great. Thanks Godalming team! Took some friends and they were full of praise. Just a great experience. Will certainly be back when we can.

Lovely food, but the service was a bit slow and delivery of the drinks in particular was haphazard at best. Will still return though as it is very good value.

Excellent food and service and real value for money, as always. I had the Breton chicken (very good) and my wife had the fish pie (great also but get a side disk to go with it). Very accommodating of a somewhat cumbersome buggy too!

Very good food, service was good throughout. Only negative is the 12.5% service charge on bill (optional) but most people would prefer to choose how much to tip

Seems to still be having teething problems. Have been to many Cotes, countless times. Great location and building. And Cote is always excellent for Coeliac/GF which is important to my family. But this place has been too cold on our two last visits. We've had cold food delivered. Late food. Errors in orders. Not terrible stuff, but not up to Cotes ususally high standards.

Very pleasant lunch. Lovely restaurant great menu lots of choice and all delicious. Staff very nice and all very helpful really enjoyed our Mother's Day lunch thank you

Excellent food as always. Comfortable seating in quiet corner. Candles on table even at the early hour we were eating. We recommend it highly, as we do all Cote Restaurants

Absolutely terrible. Poor service, poor food a complete disappointment when booked for a Mother's Day treat. We certainly will not be going again. A lot of work needed to rectify the issues.

Another good meal at Cote in Godalming. The atmosphere is just right - buzzing but not too loud. Food excellent with good presentation and wonderful flavours with lots of options for all courses. Only negative was that a previous diner's napkin had been left on the bench. Should have been seen and cleared away before we were seated - but a minor point. Staff were attentive and allowed just the right amount of time between courses.

Had a lovely early lunch today. All three courses were excellent quality and overall it was really good value. My mum has to have gluten free and there was enough choice for her

Excellent food and equally excellent service in a lovely venue. Godalming has a charming restaurant in a building of great charm and hih quality design and decor.

Brilliant service, fabulous Gluten free menu and child friendly :) Catered for all the family needs and the setting of the restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Excellent Restaurant in great Location. Good service although the staff were not familiar whether the 2 course special before 6 ( on Sat) was available or not. The staff should have a brief so everyone is singing off the same song sheet. The table beside us was told the 2 course was only available until 6 but it was only 17.55 while we were told there was no 2 course special last Sat. Consistency is the key

Took my mum here for lunch, we both had steak frites and a dessert off of the lunch time menu, was lovely and good value

Food was ok.Steak Tartare and the Crab Mayonnaise were excellent,Ribeye steak was average and quite dry even though it was cooked rare. Waiter service was very good.

Very slow and poor service. Everytime we ordered drinks we had to remind the staff about them. Food was bland and one of our party had pork belly. The vegetables came out stone cold as did the pork. I've never seen pork belly that looks like rubber. The plate was taken away and microwaved and came back scolding hot. To top it off they have the nerve to add almost £40 for service.

Pleasant experience, good service and tasty food, however, the quality of the meat (poulet grillé) was not up to the price, especially considering it made up most of the dish and came without veg.
