Côte Godalming

The staff were excellence, attentive, polite and overall an enjoyable experience. I would recommend Cote to others. The atmosphere was relaxed and of course, the food was on point!

Excellent new summer menu at reasonable price. Had new rump of lamb for main course succulent meat cooked to personal liking with jersey royals and asparagus. Good size portion and very tasty. Service attentive Up to the usual standard for Cote

Good value and reliable food. The staff could do with a bit more training though about the menu, the layout of the restaurant and the wine list.

Food was awful! Shame as always had a lovely experience at cote! Has totally put me off now not sure will be returning in the near future

Went for dinner last night. Unfortunately not as good as Cote in Guildford - maybe some teething problems ? My wife's fillet steak was sub-standard so she left about half of it. The service was a bit abrupt at times and they managed to drop 2 trays of crockery during our visit. Let's hope they get to achieve Cote's normally good standard soon.

Ordering drinks and getting bill takes too long.And I don't know why on making a comment it id necessary for it to have 25 words, last time I will make a comment or maybe and I am clutching at straws, is it likely anyway someone may contact me for an appraisal

My friend & I enjoyed sitting in a quieter part of the restaurant. One of the things I dislike about the Guildford Côte is the noise level.

Really enjoyed our visit, food and service excellent. The only downside was the table of very noisy people next to us but when we mentioned this to the waitress she moved us to a quieter part of the restaurant.

Excellent meal, the special Cote de boeuf was so delicious as was the creamed spinach and the special choice of wine, the Fleurie, went very well. We will definitely come again.

Elegant interior making a comfortable and spacious setting for a meal. Food well cooked and presented. Classic French dishes, good ingredients and full of complementary flavours. Small details such as a perfect vinaigrette are worthy of comment. The service was efficent and friendly. Staff work hard but discreetly to ensure that all goes well. This restaurant is a pleasure to visit and invite friends to.

The food was really nice , we enjoyed our meal and we're served by a waitress who was training. She was vet attentative and doing really well. Previously tried to call up to book the table , the phone manner of the person who answered was not very good , but I managed to book online instead to use my rewards.

Great atmosphere, great staff and the food is amazing. I would definatly highly recommend if your looking for a fantastic evening meal or the set lunch is very good as well.

Often pop in for a meal with friends and family....always top standards and will definitely return in the future. Manager is very welcoming and efficient.

Easy Booking system and confirmation of booking. Good choice on the Menu of both food and wines, something to suit all of our party. Good polite servicethroughout the meal, with nobody rushing us to leave. A very pleasant evening for all.

Very good atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, my friend and I didn't notice the time and I had to run back to the car park because the 2 hours parking was up.

Really helpful and understanding staff. Beautiful location. We all enjoyed lovely food-everything was faultless- and helpful man helped us choose the perfect bottle of rose. Perfect way to celebrate my birthday with good friends!

We have been before and had a good experience but today was poor. Coffee luke warm - no cutlery for one of the people on the table, we had to get it from another table. Not asked if we wanted any sauces etc. - no butter came for toast - toast wasn't toast -just warmed bread. Just a lot of silly little things that should have been sorted. There wasn't an experienced person who was on the ball making sure everything ran smoothly. The breakfasts were probably 6/10 - it was a shame as we were there for a Birthday breakfast.

Quality of food and choice of dishes excellent. Service efficient, welcome curteous and friendly. Wine choice wide with helpful descriptions. A good range of by-the-glass wines so not limited. food is apetizing and ingredients fresh. Vegetables thoughtfully prepared. Desserts classic but very tasty. Monthly "specials" provided some pleasant additional choices to the standard menu.

A nice evening as usual. A nice evening as this time we were sat at the front of the restaurant which was nice as it is a little quieter than in the back room in the restaurant. Service and food very good.

Good food for a reasonable price all set in a relaxed environment. Great for a special occasion or a quick snack and lovely kir royale!

Great service as usual and excellent food, asparagus starter was delicious. Busy for the early evening menu but we felt well looked after and valued as customers.

Cote has great and interesting food although sometimes the portions are a bit skimpy. Overall very good service and value. Also its open from 8Am till 11 most days.

Comprehensive menu, good food, friendly and professional service in a pleasant ambience. Very minor criticism but more attention to detail required in maintaining cleaning. There was dust on the lampshade and ledge adjacent to the table.

We have had to persevere with our visits and there have been minor hitches in the past. They were well dealt with but should not have happened. Last night's visit was very good with good service and good food. One could not have asked for more!

Great to sit outside in a nice spot. Friendly service. Excellent food with the steaks cooked perfectly. Great bottle of French white wine, you really cannot go wrong.

The food is simple but divine. Just what you want from a neighbourhood brasserie. service is good too. I will be coming back on a regular basis !

Wonderful brunch. Good brunch deal and staff accommodating and helpful. Lots of space in restaurant so don't feel cramped and outdoor heaters on terrace if weather ok.

Worst service ever had in restaurant waited an hour for first course and then the mains turned up waited further 20 mins same thing happened again . Plus side food was good but awful service

It was a good quality meal. The dishes are very meaty, not a great deal for a vegetarian. I don't find the desert choices extensive.

The food was excellent - I had the seared scallops followed by duck. The Godalming Cote is spacious and well decorated creating a relaxing atmosphere.

The service and venue were fine but we had some disappointment with one of the meals and starter from the set menu although the other 2 diners were very happy with their choices. The avocado was underripe and the amount of chicken on the main and salmon on the starter was "mean".

Slick service and excellent food. It is slightly pricey but worth it for a good quality meal. We had the house red wine and it was very good.

Turned up a little early for our reservation,Not a problem this was my first visit to this particular restaurant.Was not disappointed excellent food and service will be back soon.

Staff were knowledgeable about the menu and gave useful advice. Food was pleasant and about what we expected. Table spillage was not cleared between courses, and there was a significant and obvious mistake with the bill.

Lovely friendly staff, and delicious breakfast. They were so accommodating of our toddler and make a special breakfast for him. - and brought toast and colouring bits for him quickly to keep him entertained. Very reasonably priced too!

Lovely restaurant and food was good bar the chicken baguette main which was very dry, bacon over cooked and only a few bits of chicken which was a shame.

We were nicely greeted as always and offered a choice of tables. Drinks and nibbles and the starter and main were promptly served. An ice bucket provided for the white wine. The duck was perfectly pink and the haddock also very good. I had minute steak which I have had many times before but this piece was slightly grisly and I could not eat it all as a result. .there was a large and rather noisy group in the front part of the restaurant where the ceiling is low and at times that made sharing our own conversations rather difficult. Perhaps large and potentially noisy groups could be placed where the ceiling is higher?

food was ok,service was fairly good until the wine that we ordered was not bought to us until we reminded a waitress about it,even then they did not know what we had ordered!

King prawn starter, beef bourgignon main, and coffee were all fabulous. My only (slight) complaint, is a bottle of beer is very expensive ( equiv to £12 / pint), and house wine is nearly £24! But don't let that put you off- the food is worth the visit.

Great food and friendly service. However, food and drinks came out rather slowly and the cooked breakfasts were a little on the cool side. We were refunded for one of those following an honest comment made to the waitress. Service charge added automatically at 12% - this is uncalled for I feel.

The ambience, service and food were exceptionally good. I had the scallops which were the best I have ever eaten and my friend had the fish stew which was delicious. We are regular customers of the Cote chain throughout the country because the standard is consistently good.

Not as good as the usual Cote experience. Ok but have had much better -hope this was just a temporary aberration. Have been eating at various Cote establishments, (Guildford, Oxford, Farnham, Salisbury and Oxford) over the years and never had a dud experience but this came close to one. Trust our next visit to Godalming will be tip!top otherwise it will be our last.

We are regular patrons of Cote - excellent cuisine and service at very affordable prices, good atmosphere and charming staff from many European countries. We have sometimes thought about using other Godalming restaurants, but with Cote in town, why should we?

Waited 15 minutes to order bottle of wine. When starters were brought, they were for another table. !2.5% service charge is not discretionary as stated.It would be better included in the overall price.i.e 3 course at £13.50,including service.Much more acceptable.

Lovely welcoming restaurant. Friendly staff and great food, would highly recommend for any occasion. The duck, choice of wine and steak in particular are excellent.

Great meal, we had a gluten free eater with us and the team treated all of us well. Good service, the waiter and waitress were attentive and service was fast

Food was great as always, very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very well laid out and welcoming. I would recommend Cote in Godalming, especially for brunch.
