Côte Lewes

I often go to Cote brasserie in Brighton or Lewes, with friends and family and always leave very satisfied.only one little complaint, in Lewes the service is much slower. But thank you for the nice experience

Great meal. Lovely selection and fantastic quality!! Service was brilliant too! Would definitely recommend Lewes Cote to friends and family and I will be back.

Very pleasant surroundings, good service, good food nicely presented, comfortable without too much background noise. Much prefer to tip cash for the staff at the table, but overall I thought the experience justified the added service charge.

We shared one starter then chose starters to have as mains - we then shared a pudding. All of these were delicious. Service, as ever, was good - very pleasant people.

we had a lovely evening at the restaurant which was very busy . This didn't result in poor service or inferior food in fact we were served with just a comfortable amount of attention and the food was delicious

Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and good food! We used the current offer of a free bottle of wine with our meal - very welcome!

Excellent service and the food always good. The salad with egg and anchovy was better than I expected, with more variety of vegetables and well flavoured. Steak and chips good as always. If only the toilets weren't so far away!

Everyone in the party was really happy with the meal and service - our questions and requests were handled graciously by the team and the food was delicious, wine was offered to taste before ordering, and most important for us with hearing difficulties - ours was in a good quiet position ( admittedly the restaurant not crowded but loud taped music can often be really infuriating in some eateries ). I was glad I could order a simpler dessert I remembered from the pre7pm cheaper menu even tho it was not on the main menu. many thanks

Quality food, well presented and friendly efficient staff. Complimentary wine a definite bonus but we question whether it was worth £20.50. Great atmosphere, would certainly consider returning even though we're not local.

Excellent food, and relaxed atmosphere. Waiting staff very organized and polite. A wonderful , relaxed evening ..... would definitely recommend Cote Lewes to my friends !

Great Gluten free and over all family experience - thank you. just missed a 6 through my daughters steak being a little more sinewy than expected.

Food was very good, and the atmosphere was good, but service was a bit erratic. The inclusion of a 12.5% service charge on the bill was extortionate.

Relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Helpful staff. Reasonable food. Long walk to Loos! Slightly over seasoned steak tartar but in general a nice place to have a chilled meal.

Good food and service. Nice atmosphere. Best place for dinner in Lewes. Food was of a good standard and was served promptly by an ​attentive waitress.

As always, a lovely venue, excellent service (always with a smile), and a great choice of good quality food. The monthly changes to the menu make each visit an opportunity to try something new.

This is the third visit for us. service and attention very good, We selected the Prestige menu this time. Food absolutely excellent. Previously selected from the al a carte menu with equal satisfaction. highly recommended.

Good was good as was service. Nice atmosphere and very accommodating regarding when main course served. Would recommend to others. Could do with more fish dishes

Delicious food but not enough of it! Small portions, especially the cheese plate. Lost one mark due to potions size, stale bread (though changed for oven fresh bread without fuss) and the crepe obviously not being made fresh. Still a good meal though. The meat was cooked to perfection. Lovely service and ambiance.

Had the set lunch menu of two courses (main and dessert) and there was a good choice. The sea bream was excellent, and the creme caramel second to none!

Excellent , very good food , pleasant surroundings, very efficient service , never rushed . Altogether a great experience. Have also had breakfast here which was another excellent time.

Cote is in my view the best Chain restaurant in Lewes. The food and service are consistently good and the menus are interesting while offering good value.

As always, very efficient service and delicious food. It always feels quite special to come here, lovely surroundings, never rushed. We will certainly be back.

Pleasant staff - good ambience and good food. Although at 1930 there was no cod left and also no house wine! Not good! However, we will return.

Very good service but forgot a side plates for bread and olives was not happy with service charges did give tips but not you amount

Enjoyed the food, service good and waitress attentive. Would be good to change menu more frequently. Can cater for my intolerances well. Makes eating out enjoyable.

Sat 11th evening. Table in side anti room. No atmosphere. Dim lights. can't read menu with brown print on cream card with light from modern amber teardrop filament bulb. Then the lights were dimmed for 'atmosphere'. Waitress cold,sharp and surly. (ie..Empty room apart from us..we put bread basket on adjacent table...waitress took basket and put it back on our table 'cos she wanted to put two menu's on the table....No reason...no more guests!! Not a comment. Tip...don't book via web...telephone and ask for main dining room!!!!

Not as good as Cote in Brighton. Service slow, tables left uncleared all around us. Our plates left on our table finished for far too long. Food as expected and enjoyable. Air conditioning too cold. Such a pity as expected it to be on a par with Brighton.

Excellent lovely meal. It was very busy but the staff were extremely efficient and nice. Food was really good and great choice of wines too.

Good food at a very reasonable price. The service is good and pleasant surroundings. I’ve been several times and will be happy to eat there again.

A regular here and it never disappoints. Three of us had steaks which were all cooked perfectly. Busy Friday night with good atmosphere.

We had a wonderful experience at Cote in Lewes. It was my first visit to a Cote Restaurant and will waste no time in re-visiting again. The staff were very helpful and did not mind our loud conversation!1 The food was superb and very well presented. A shame that we have to go all the way to Lewes, as we live in Bexhill.

The Initial reception and service were very good but the food service was very slow. We had to wait at least 30min to get our starters and about 40min to receive our main meals after finishing our starters. The food however, was very good and well presented.

Lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Very attentive when dealing with my sister who is coeliac, a special gluten free menu and order taken by the manager to ensure no mistakes are made, very impressed. All staff are cheerful and well trained. Will definitely be visiting again.

Extremely helpful and polite staff. Fish stew delicious. Creme brûlée tasty . Looking forward to next visit. What more can I say? Oh and the ambience very pleasing.

The food was as good as expected at a Cote but the service was disappointing. The waitress never smiled and seemed to have "an attitude". We were a party of five, and the main courses - different choices - were not served together. Our order of bread never arrived - although it did appear on the bill! No interest was ever show to our table once the main courses had been served and I had to draw the attention of the (not, regrettably, identifiable as "our") waitress to the fact that we had all finished and were ready to move on to the third course. I do wonder if the restaurant is understaffed, or whether the arrangement of the rooms makes it difficult to manage?

The food was good. We enjoyed it. However service could have been better, especially as a main course had been “forgotten“ which meant one of our party had to watch the rest of us eat. Not really acceptable

Unfortunately we waited a long time for our food. When it arrived it was delicious. Mark our waiter was very attentive jolly and efficient. Very kindly they did not charge us for the wine and we had complimentary kir royals. Will definitely go back and recommend to others

the food was excellent, the welcome warm, the ambience convivial. The only minus was the slow service at the beginning, but that was apologised for, even before we'd complained, and what's more it was recompensed. Will we try Cote Brasserie in Lewes again? Most certainly.

It was a lovely evening with friends. The service was impeccable as usual and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant any time.

I've not had a bad meal at any Cote and last night was true to form. Our waiter was friendly & efficient; the food was delicious and good value; the ambience was relaxing with just the buzz of conversations rather than background music intruding. My only wish is that you don't automatically stick 12.5% service on the bill. If you must do it, then use 10% instead.

Dinner with friends on a Sunday evening. Although the restaurant was quite busy service was good, attentive and unobtrusive, The food was excellent as always and the ambience pleasant and relaxed.

Lovely atmosphere, smaller and more intimate with the usual Cote service. A very pleasant breakfast with nice people to serve you. Quite a winning formula.

What a fantastic evening we have just had. Quite simply exquisite dining and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go again very soon Nick
