Côte Lewes

We were looked after very well, served promptly with a good choice on the menu. Will look forward to our next visit to the Cote restaurant in Chiswick next week. Always satisfied with our visits to Cote restaurants.

The food and service was excellent as usual but the air conditioning was turned up so high that at the table where we sat I was freezing which made my visit uncomfortable and not enjoyable. I couldn't wait to get out. I mentioned this when we sat down and the waitress said she would turn it down, which she did but a short time later it was turned up to cold again! Also we don't like the high service charge added to the bill.

Efficient service...ok meal as usual Only quibble is the discretionary 12.5% service added to the bill. I believe service should be entirely a customers choice to add,not to deduct!

This is a restaurant I visit regularly and standards and quality are always maintained to a high level. The choice and variety of menu and prices suits all tastes and pockets. The atmosphere was really good and my friends and I had a wonderful time. Back there again today for lunch - that’s how good it is!

Good food at a reasonable price with a wide ranging menu to suit every taste.We were offered a table of our choice & the staff were polite & efficient.

Attentive service as ever and great food, I really rate Cote. Bread is especially yummy; nice wine list, never had a bad meal and I go every month!

Lovely food. Attentive staff. Nicely busy for a Sunday night. Wine list limited to french but had a nice Bordeaux. We would go there again.

The atmosphere was good, the service and the food were both excellent. Good value for money and well situated in Lewes. An altogether excellent evening.

Very friendly and efficient service. Everyone enjoyed the food and wine. Especial praise for sea bass with fennel. Delicious bread. Jersey Royal potatoes slightly soggy.

Very good food and service. Chips excellent as always. Quiet section of the restaurant great for hard-of-hearing father. We all enjoyed it. Will keep coming!

we had booked for 4 but my mum was taken ill so there was only me and my wife we told them that it was our anniversary and we got to glasses of sparkling rose then we had large glass of whit wine the i had a large glass of rose the when we said to the waiter you have not charged us for the drinks they said know thats right all you have to pay for is the food bill all good will defantley be going back there food is lovely and staff are polite and allways look after you thats why i have scored them 6 out 6

This Cote restaurant lives up to the standard you want from this chain, good food, good service and a reasonable price. Only disappointment, no Creme Caramel!

Great food, reasonably priced as always. Very busy as Father’s Day. Only issue was with a high chair as initially we weren’t permitted to have a high chair in the ‘aisle’ as it needed to be clear, this despite the fact we have been several times and it had never been an issue. Common sense prevailed however and the meal was great.

Our table was ready at the time we had booked it, even though the restaurant was really busy we didn’t have to wait long until our waiter appeared asking if we’d like to order drinks the staff are really friendly, our food was really nice, everything was cooked to perfection

Lovely meal friendly staff thank you. Do find it slightly off putting when service charge is already added to the bill would be better to be able to add that yourself

Excellent food and staff interaction. The general buzz in the restaurant was great. Absolutely no negative feelings at all. Looking forward to next visit, sooner rather than later.

Really welcoming and excellent service from beginning to end. As usual the signature onion soup loved up to expectations the whole meal was decisions and thoroughly enjoyable

Bit naughty to put a12.5% service charge on a table of 2. I understand if it was for a bigger table but not for 2 of us

The Prestige menu offered great choice. Our selections were beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and great value. Excellent wine list with a good range by-the-glass. Friendly, attentive staff.

Fabulous authentic French Dining. Food is fresh with classic flavours. Service is always excellent. The chef made my moules and frites dairy free with no fuss - completely delicious.

Food, service and ambience all excellent, but the manager was quite outstanding : welcoming, helpful, courteous and generous to a "T". We ordered two glasses of a wine found not to be available, so we received a whole bottle of another wine, free!

Good dinner with very pleasant service! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out. It was quite a consolation after EasyJet had cancelled the flight back home.

Nice food, good ambience, helpful staff . The menu in cote hasn’t changed for so long and as a vegetarian it is just a bit boring after half a dozen visits but you can’t fault the quality and the ambience in Lewes is lovely. Very enjoyable evening

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Côte- good service by Martina. We had the 3 course menu. THe steak was excellent as were the french fries and salad, not forgetting the creme caramel! And the wines were very good. Buzzy atmosphere helped too. I always Côte pretty reliable!

Excellent meal and first class ambiance. A pleasant evening with friends in comfortable surroundings. There was a good choice of food available and a very prompt delivery — nothing was too much trouble

Good food, well cooked and presented. Very good service in pleasant and relaxing surroundings. This is my second visit and it will not be my last.

Côte was ok at most. My steak tartare was fine, and my husband’s crab mayo was too but nothing special. I was hoping my Veal Escalope was going to wow me but it was breaded to an inch of its life and therefore it tasted of the oil it absorbed from the pan and was overcooked. Not enough jus to make it work better. My husband’s Breton Chicken was very nice though so the three starts go to that really. Service wasn’t brilliant. I had to ask for a side plate for our bread basket, my soft drink came without ice and the bill brought to the table didn’t belong to us. Apart from that staff were friendly and polite. It was a very underwhelming meal. Hence only 3 stars.

Cote Brassrie was very busy when we arrived, but were shown to a table quickly and the service was attentive and efficient. Food was good. Pleasant and enjoyable evening with new friends.

Met a friend for late lunch. Lovely atmosphere, staff very good. We both ate from the lunch menu - excellent value and the food was delicious. Very pleased with whole experience, will definitely go again

Super food and excellent service. I am vegetarian and found a lot of choice today on the main menu and the lunch menu. In the past I have ordered from the vegan menu which was also good!

Wonderful food, attentive staff & relaxing atmosphere........a beautiful building too ! Catered for gluten free with own menu...... I would certainly visit again for any occasion !

The food was excellent and the staff exceptionally courteous. Would definitely visit again - lots of different food options and prices reasonable and Lewes is a lovely.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. The food was OK but not extraordinary. I thought the haddock should have had cooked tomatoes with it rather than raw as it was slightly odd combination. Overall, good value for money though (we had the weekday deal) and the staff never made us feel hurried even staying a total of 5 hours!

Great service, it was quiet so we had a choice of table. Very reasonable prices. My poached egg tasted a bit too vinegary but everything else was nice.

We had a pleasant meal, it was a shame the Haddock hadn't been delivered in time to appear on the Set Menu, but the chicken was an okay alternative. Excellent service.

Had a very nice meal from the Premier menu, calamari excellent and my crepe with wild mushrooms was very tasty.Wine was also good, good service and ambience.

A wonderful lunch with friends. Delicious food, efficient friendly service, reasonably priced plus a complimentary glass of wine for my friend's birthday - lovely touch! Decor very pleasant and toilets spotless. All in all very enjoyable.

Service a little higgledy piggledy, Starters arrived promptly, remainder slow. Drinks arrived, when we ordered more, they didn't arrive and had to be reordered! Then they arrived promptly. Service generally slow. Food good, wonder if they need more staff ?

Very busy evening so we had quite a wait for our food My steak unfortunately was quite fatty but it had a lovely flavour and the chips were really tastey. We would certainly go back again
