Côte Lewes

The staff were fantastic - very polite and well trained. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and the food was delicious. We would highly recommend Cote for brunch or dinner.

Food and service was superb. There is a good variety on the menu and the staff are always on hand. We celebrated Mothers Day and mum was very happy.

I visited Cote in Lewes for Mother’s day and they were very accommodating. Unfortunately their air conditioning was too fierce and we were getting cold..my poor mum had to put her coat over her shoulders. The waitress was a real sweetheart and she was very professional and efficient. She immediately dealt with the air con and even the manager came over and apologised. The only reason I’ve dropped a star is because the air con was turned off and we got hot! ha ha so I wasn’t sure why it just wasn’t turned down. I just think they were eager to resolve the issue and didn’t like the fact that elderly people were getting cold.

In my opinion Cote must be the finest restaurant in Lewes with excellent and friendly service and a delicious meal from a very good menu. Parking close by was a problem but next time I will counter that by using a taxi and the extra cost will be worth it.

Super service and great food!! We enjoyed the peace of being able to eat in a room without piped music and we loved being able to sit round a round table! Brilliant !

The atmosphere was great, the decor amazing. The manager and his staff are very attentive to your needs. The menu has plenty to choose from, and the food was great. My favorite place now

Tasty food, good service and elegant surroundings. I get that being creative with food is diesiable but the portions are just too small. Left feeling hungry!

We had a really lovely evening. Cote consistently delivers good food and a great atmosphere. The early evening special is very good value. It's a great place to go.

we were given a choice of table when we went in. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If there was background music (I'm not sure!) It was not intrusive The meal was excellent.

Great food and service, all freshly cooked. A fab atmosphere and we love the pre 7p.m. prices! Happily recommended Lewes Cote and we'll be back very soon.

Nice busy atmosphere for a Thursday evening which was a pleasant surprise . We were please with the menu choices and food was good. Only criticism was the small selection of beers and spirits available with no rum on offer

The usual service that you get in all Cote - always good. Unfortunately the Croque Monsieur was extremely dry and burnt. We did tell the waiter when finished (although he only ate then middle) as my 89 father didn’t want to make a fuss, I would have at least expected a discount or it taken off the bill.

Lovely experience. Excellent service and very happy with free kir royals for all my guests. The set menu is an amazing bargain and always very good.

Went out for an evening meal for mother’s day. It was an a la carte menu which had lots of good options. They also have a separate vegetarian menu which had a lot of variety and choice which is unusual but fantastic! My brother ordered a sirloin steak, and about 5-10 minutes after ordering our waiter came out and apologised perfusely that they had run out of sirloin and offered him fillet steak for the same price. We had also ordered breads and olives to start which was a little bit delayed, but it did eventually come. Our food arrived then in good time and it was all really tasty (although they had also run out of French beans which we had wanted with our meal). We then ordered deserts which also came in good time, and were lovely. Portion sizes were decent but not huge so you did not feel stuffed. At the end for the inconvience caused the lovely waiter took our first round of drinks off the bill as well as the reduction for the steak, which made the bill very affordable and reasonable (although note it does include the service charge). Overall lovely atmosphere, accommodating staff and good food. A great addition to Lewes and somewhere a little more upmarket and special to have a meal.

Yet again another beautiful meal great wine and fantastic service. I came for Mother’s Day and can’t fault anything, very happy :)

Great restaurant - was mother’s day so busy, but the staff were friendly and professional. We had the set price vegetarian breakfast which was so good. Toilets good too!

Always great service and the food is very good. Best to book early as venue very popular. Parking marginally difficult but free all day Sunday.

Fabulous dining experience with very congenial atmosphere. Food was delicious served nicely with good size portions but the staff made the evening. They were all friendly and welcoming in particular our maitre de Mikey. Top chat, great banter but very professional at the same time. We would come back just to be served by him alone! Great experience. The restaurant was buzzing and very busy but the food was delivered promptly and it was of course excellent quality. We were greeted by friendly and efficient staff ever smiling. I we come to Lewes again we will return.

food good, bit noisy, side order 'beans' very few and not cooked in fact almost raw-v poor value. staff good. would like to eat there solo but no provision which allows a relatively quiet private meal

From arrival to departure it was a delightful way to spend an evening. The staff were attentive, the March "Specials" gave a little something extra to an already excellent choice of dishes. The food was first class and we were even tempted into puds. Cote is a very welcome part of the Lewes dining scene.

We had an enjoyable meal-and I was pleased to discover that Cote have vegetarian wine. Waitress was very pleasant, but service generally slackened off a bit later in the meal - in the end I had to go to the bar and ask for the bill as no one had appeared within sight for some time.

Great food, great service from the friendly staff. Not over priced. Wasn’t as packed unlike some of the bigger restaurants in East Sussex. Overall great experience.

I enjoy visiting Côte Lewes because of the building, the food, and the ambiance. The staff are always helpful and friendly and I like the choice of dishes. I also find the coffee excellent.

Service was great and the food was excellent. We we were for dinner with family and we were greeted right away and seated within a few minutes.

Had a lovely valentines evening at the Cote Brasserie, usual excellent service, food and atmosphere. Would have liked some valentines day touches by the restaurant though, hearts or flowers on the table?

Great value, service and wines in a beautifully renovated old bank premises ... the wait staff were all extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the wines. We will definitely return soon

Hi I am quite a regular at Lewes Cote, my last visit I felt I was being rushed, the bill was placed on my table when I had hardly finished my sweet. Roger

The ambiance was good but the food was average and expensive. I also don’t like the 12.5% service charge being added for me. If I want to tip I will. In summary, it was ok but I wouldn’t rush back there.

everything was very good. But our first table, which we had booked, at the back of the building was intolerably noisy. we asked to be moved and we were - swiftly and without fuss. but why can't restaurants consider noise pollution?

Just as it always is......good food and wine, great staff lovely atmosphere. Simple recipe well thought out. Hats off to the people who make it happen.

Lewes Cote is a great place to eat. It is a lovely building and has great and friendly service, good food, decent prices. Nice atmosphere too.

My only complaint is that you include the service charge on the bill. I appreciate the menu states it is 'optional', but it should not be there at all. If I wish to give a tip I leave it on the table. I object to being made to feel obligated to pay the service charge.

Have been using this restaurant since it opened. Great food and first class service - great value as well , plus a diverse and regularly changing menu

We were a party of 6 for lunch. Food from the lunchtime menu was well cooked and presented and the staff were excellent. There was not a lot of atmosphere but then Tuesday lunchtime is hardly a prime slot. Nothing special but good value.

First time we have been to the Lewes Cote (we usually go to the Haywards Heath branch) and, as usual with all Cote restaurants, service was excellent, food up to standard and in all ways very good. It was Valentine's Day so it was very busy but it did not mean that service was in any way compromised. Will go again.

Great atmosphere and very nice food. Expensive place but worthy if you like to impress somebody. I recommend the chicken liver pate or calamaru to start and the moules and frites or pork belly for mains. The crepe for desder was delicious.

Very attentive staff, no problems, everyone very knowledgeable and helpful. Food very good. We've been here several times and never disappointed. Good wine list. Staff all appear happy, which is a good sign.

Comparable with other Cotes that we’ve visited. A very pleasant evening meal with my family. Slight misunderstanding regarding vegetables was duly reflected in the final bill. Certainly worthy of a further visit

Interesting and well run restaurant but looks as if needed more staff on a very busy Saturday evening. However, all our party enjoyed the meal.

First visit to the Lewes branch.... very enjoyable we loved the experience, food and service excellent, we shall be back ! Can’t wait to try the breakfast...
