Côte Lewes

Good food and service and a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant was busy on Sunday but there was plenty of space and no intrusive noise. Cote is a real plus for this end of town.

Service was impeccable but the food (cod goujons) was quite disappointing. The fish was greyish and lacked flavour. I really disliked finding that 12.5% 'optional' service had been added to the bill above the total line. That alone would rule out a return visit.

We had to chase someone to take our drinks order and the food came out we watched waitress walk around the restaurant looking for who it was going to. Food was fine,atmosphere good.

Delicious food, beautifully presented, lovely atmosphere with excellent service. Our waiter was Mark and he was very attentive without being overbearing. Michael was just as wonderful as ever 👍

Early service not quite as slick as in Brighton Overall otherwise excellent. Could Cote please start serving a gluten free beer - St James from Suffolk or one from Sussex.

Great dining experience as always. Tasty food, good timely service. My dad particularly liked the black pudding starter. Will definitely be back again very soon

The food is excellent, the staff are professional, friendly and attentive, and the restaurant offers very good value for money. I would definitely recommend Cote Lewes.

Confusion at menu choice. Brioche or sour dough baguette with Liver parfait depending on selection. Strong preference for Brioche at both. Excellent meal overall and good service.

Great service, enjoyable atmosphere, nice wine. Food is really good; my only complaint on this visit was that in my tuna nicoise, the hard boiled eggs were fridge cold. The tuna was rarer than my previous visits but the whole dish was still delicious.

Very enjoyable. Delicious food, attentive staff and exceptional ambience. The music volume was quiet enough to hear one another easily. The chairs were comfortable and the restaurant lovely and warm on a cold night.

Excellent service, excellent food. A beautiful job of the venue has been done. An all round lovely experience. Booking is simple and the staff can’t help you enough.

Excellent food and service. Only criticism is hefty ‘optional’ gratuity which is added to bill. On £144.05 bill I would normally give £10.00 tip but this was £18.01!!!

Sitting in small ante room and got forgotten ! Service slow (12.5 added to bill) food delicious , waitress charming after she gave our meal to next table then rescued them !

Great service and wonderful food and atmosphere! A perfect night out celebrating my husband’s birthday. I had requested a quiet table and they sat us in an ideal spot, even serving a complimentary drink in honor of our celebration.

Wonderful evening with friends at Côte Lewes. Staff, manager, food, wine, decor, were excellent. Really enjoyed the Moule as a main course and chocolate fondant pudding yummy!

It was a terrific experience as I took people who had not heard of Coté and they were very impressed. I loved the fact that all the food came together. There were many staff on duty all wanting customers to have a good time. They all smiled and made one feel special. The food was excellent served in various ways which added to the experience. I would say you have got the business so right.

Our first visit to Côte in Lewes, been to the Hayward’s Heath Restaurant so expected good things. We had a very pleasant experience and the staff were helpful and friendly. Went to pay the bill for my wife and I and another person picked up the bill, Wow, never expected that, so good food and drink for free! a win win.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. Great value on the early evening menu too which had a variety of dishes to choose from. I would happily return and definitely recommend!

Food excellent and service v good when it arrived. But it was a fifteen minute wait before we could even order drinks. Won't stop us coming back tho'. It's a delightful place to eat.

Really lovely lunch, we had the Christmas Menu which was excellent. Service up to Cotes usual high standard. Cant wait to go back. 5 stars

The Poor service and average food was a shame, great Côte de bouef though. No red wine glasses for a £30 bottle! I remembered better things from cotè

The decor of the restaurant was lovely as was the ambience. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ate from the set menu which was very good value and delicious. This is the second time we have eaten there and we will definitely be returning.

Great food but acoustics dodgy and loud customers next to us meant we could only hear them. Also the bank seat mean the inside person felt faint from over heating.

Great restaurant with a decent menu although light for veggie. Shame they didn't know anything about beaujolais nouveau - probably due to the fact the place is run by kids. I'll go back!

Fantastic food and service. Took my Mum here who thoroughly enjoyed her meal. Good atmosphere for moody teenagers! Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, very attentive. Thankyou. It was out first time and we will be back again

Nice atmosphere with good food, the only slight negative was that the portions where on the small side but the overall experience was quite good.

The restaurant was very crowded and noisy (a Friday night.) Service was therefore a bit slower than ideal but adequate. The food was generally very good and nicely presented. We both had duck and one helping had some slices that were undercooked rather than rare, and unchewable. However, on mentioning this a reduction was made on the bill which is very good. We shall go again but not on a Friday or Saturday.

Good food and above all excellent service with very friendly staff! Very nice atmosphere and lovely building to eat in. We will definitely come again soon!

Food was excellent and the service very good. Not the most convenient place for parking we had to walk quite a long way, never the less well worth a visit.

Lovely food and friendly staff, the only things that let it down were that they put the 6 of us on a small table so we were very crammed in. There wasn't enough space to put coats and there was no toilet roll in the toilet.

Great value delicious 3 course early evening dinner on a Friday. Friendly and attentive staff, good portion sizes (not too big, not too small) lovely decor, good atmosphere, spotless loos, spot on with the menu options. Definitely coming back.

Almost perfect however the waitress at our table was in fact perfect............. As for value for money? It was! Will we go back? Planning it already.

When we arrived we were shown to a VERY SMALL table hard against a wall , which, had we had just been calling in for a coffee or calling into a fast food restaurant for a burger, would have been ok., but certainly not to enjoy a nice steak meal. We were on the verge of leaving. We complained and were then shown to another much nicer table. The staff were brilliant as usual, and made no fuss about moving us. The fillet steak was perfect, as was the prawn dish, followed by the crepes, we eventually enjoyed a very special evening.

Food tasty and well priced, service attentive, courteous and friendly. It is a new branch of Cotes and certainly up to the standard expected by regular users such as ourselves.

Lively atmosphere and great food but service was very slow left time to catch up with friends but could be awkward if going on to some where else afterwards.

Our first visit to Cote Lewes and it was every bit as good as our regular haunt in Horsham. We booked for 6pm which meant we could take advantage of the 'early bird' offer, ie a two or three course menu at a reduced cost. Nice. The staff were friendly and efficient and even though it was early in the evening, the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We'd definitely return.

Good, tasty food nicely presented and served by friendly staff. We enjoyed our lunch in the pleasant,quiet restaurant but be advised if you don' t like climbing stairs visiting the toilets might be difficult.

Didn't start well, as we were given a choice of seats, but after 5 mins we were asked if we could move as someone had actually specifically booked the table we chose. However they did this very politely and gave us a free drink for the inconvenience. The food and service was very good

Very nice ambiance and good menu, different from last time I came but the potatoes with my fish dish were cold. Everything else was very good.

Our evening at Cote this week was stunning, the food was fantastic from starter to deserts, I would definetly recommend the Pork belly. Great value for money. Our waitress was brilliant as well a young Spanish girl. Thank you
