Excellent service and delicious food. We had the calamari and chicken liver parfait, both were excellent. The parfait with the brioche was a tasty combination. The lamb rump special was perfectly cooked for my taste and full of flavour and as always the chicken and chips was nicely cooked with good flavours. Good selection of wines by the glass. Warm cosy atmosphere. Definitely a must when visiting Lewes

Booking on line was easy and uncomplicated. On arrival we were warmly greeted and offered several places to sit. The staff were happy, helpful and efficient without being overbearing. The food we chose was first class in every sense. I booked from recommendation............ I will certainly tell my family and friends that we had a great experience.

A great addition to Lewes restaurants. Despite being very busy on Christmas eve afternoon, we were had very good service and the food was excellent. The one glitch - when our pre-main bread arrived at the same time as our main - was swiftly resolved with apologies.

Great atmosphere and service on Lewes High Street. Our food was excellent although the Roquefort salad was a bit stingy on the cheese. Otherwise very good value.

I went to Lewes Cote to have dinner with my daughter and two grown-up grand-daughters. We were very well looked after and had a delicious meal, promptly served although the restaurant was busy with a number of festive celebrations. A nice relaxed venue and a welcome addition to Lewes.

Decent food, good range of options to choose from. Service a little stretched but still okay. Reasonably priced. One of the better venues for eating in Lewes.

Conversion from Bank well done. Memories of old-time business there recalled. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Wide menu choice. Food well prepared and served. Excellent atmosphere despite full house. We will return.

Excellent quick service, delicious breakfast. Reasonable price. If you have a full English breakfast pay a little extra you get a hot drink and juice.

We had gone here for a special Christmas Eve meal and to get into the Christmassy spirit. It was an awful Experience- No Christmas decorations at all. It looked sparse and boring. We asked why and all they could say was that they were understated there. Why advertise a Christmas menu if you’re not going to be Christmassy? I ordered liver parfait. It arrived and was almost liquid. It obviously wasn’t right. I sent it back and they immediately acknowledged it was not right. They brought another after 10 mins, meanwhile my husband was trying to eat his crab slowly so I could catch up. The second liver parfait was the same.. liquid. I sent it back again. I then said no thanks don’t want any more and could I have the crab. I ate this in my own. They confirmed that the whole tray of parfait hadn’t set. Why hadn’t they tried it? We had a main course which wa nice but the evening had kind of gone and we called for our taxi to come earlier. The bill arrived and nothing had been taken off which we thought was off! We gently said that we presumed that a nice gesture for a bad evening was to at least not charge for the starters. She apologised and said this should have happened.. but they only took one off and I think as my husband ate alone they should really have taken off the two. They even kept the service charge in which we did pay but kind of regret it. Not a great evening and not a great start to our xmas

We had a lovely breakfast with something for all ages and as always great service which I think sets you apart from other places as well as the quality of food.

Decent menu and well priced wine list. Nice ambience and competent service. Food was good and well prepared although for me there was way too much garlic in the wilted spinach. Would have scored 6 but I wanted a starter from the Christmas menu and a main from the al a carte but this wasn't allowed. Also, 3 of us (we were a party of 4) had steak, two rib eye and one fillet, all the steaks were well cooked and the rib eyes were excellent but the fillet had an unwelcome bit a gristle running through it. Over all a nice evening out and good value for money.

The food was nice and the service was excellent. We had a good table and there was lots of room. The Kia Royal was as nice treat.

Our lunch from the Christmas set menu was excellent value for money. The service was very good - attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We didn't feel at all rushed, despite it being a very busy time of year. We'll definitely be back and bring friends next time.

It’s always a good lunch in cote. Efficient friendly and delicious. I’m tarting to wonder what we do befor cote in lewes opened ! It’s definitly the best place to eat at the top of town

Loved the atmosphere, the food and wine and especially our first waiter but we were one of the last groups left and had to ask for desert menu and then coffee and then find someone to give us the bill... they need to be more like the Brighton staff, attentive but not over attentive. We were all unimpressed with the service to be honest

We were served promptly and we given a table by the front window (good as I am hard of hearing). The mussels and frites were delicious as was the beer. We appreciated that any background music was at a low ebb. Shall return.

Adequate but both vegetarian and. Chicken meals were rather dry. They were very busy and the kitchen was not at its best. Won't go again.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere with the Lewes Old Grammar School was brilliant. Starter was excellent , main course was excellent and the puddings were great.

It was a relaxing visit with good food and good service. It was particularly easy for two of us who needed gluten free food. There was plenty of choice.

Great meal-good choice of both starter and main course. We all had mussels to start, which were of good quality-fresh and plump. The fish maincourse was good too- not over or undercooked. Wine was good and waitress very helpful in helping us choose which one!

Our service today was fantastic from the moment we came until we left. The attendants we pleasant and attentive and the food delicious. Côte in Lewes is in a fabulous building with great ambience. I heartily recommend the experience.

Quite slow service as was not busy when we arrived at 7:15 , delicious food and champagne, well priced. Venue is not as beautiful as Brighton, and a bigger restaurant in Lewes. Busy by the time we left at about 9:00

The food was up to the normal Cote standard. The service, however, was far too slow, possibly because of there being a large party in the restaurant. The waiter had to be asked where the first course was. The atmosphere is cosier and less frenetic than Brighton - for good or ill!

This was our first time in the new Cote in Lewes and the space, food as well as service was great. We will certainly return soon.

Visited after some late night shopping. Excellent staff who were friendly from start to finish. Food was very good and excellent choice from all the various menus. Decor and ambiance was lovely. Have been to their restaurant in Brighton which is OK much prefer the Lewes restaurant.

Three of us had lunch today on the weekday fixed price menu and really enjoyed the food. Service was very good and we liked the ambience.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here for a pre Christmas meet up for the family. Everyone found something to suit them & really enjoyed their meals. Great friendly staff & good service. We will be back soon.

One of our party sent her food back because the steak was overcooked and tough and the chips were very salty. The rest of us enjoyed the food but did think it was too salty. The waitress dealt with our comments/complaint very well and the manager was very attentive and helpful. We were not charged for the meal
