Côte Lewes

Although it's nothing to do with Cote, parking is not easy and we waited in the small car park at the Castle for about 20 minutes before a space became available. Street parking is always difficult. However, our meal was good value, choosing the early option menu. it is certainly not top class but you get what you pay for and my minute steak was cooked perfectly. We shall return!

Great food value Great restaurant and fabulous staff...the only downside is parking !!..so make sure you have time for a walk which could be uphill !!

As usual great food, staff and atmosphere, can actually here your own conversation unlike some places. Would definitely recommend for Breakfast and Evening Meal, wine superb.

Food was very good, including the vegetarian choices. Wine (red) was a bit chilly but was swapped for another, more acceptable, bottle. The young waiter seemed tentative but no doubt will gain confidence as he becomes more experienced. As long as the standard of cooking is maintained (or improved) we shall be glad to return.

Over the years we have always enjoyed eating at Cote in Salisbury, Richmond, Teddington and Brighton. We have always asked the managers to suggest Lewes as a good venue. So we are very happy to have Cote in Our old Lloyds Bank which has been sensitively converted into a comfortable restaurant. We enjoyed our food and wine and were impressed by the attention we received from charming Michelle. We will be visiting Cote regularly.

Great service and great food. Advice relates to lighting - I prefer subdued lighting and dislike spots pointed at me but the lower level lighting is 'cold' colour and the spots at back point at people sitting at tables.

The service and food were good and the new restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere. As a regular customer of various Cote restaurants, this one is a welcome addition to Lewes.

Excellent meal, excellent service, love the new surroundings at Lewes. We visited when it had just opened and could not have been more impressed, lets up Cote Lewes keep up the excellent standard.

The food at Lewes Cote is excellent. Fresh ingredients, well prepared and presented, and without the attempt at weird combinations and over-fancy cooking that at present disfigures so many British restaurants. We had excellent, very traditional Moules marinières, a very good plate of crab mayonnaise and a fine charcuterie board which included very good rillettes. Service was excellent; fast , efficient and cheerful. We particularly took to the Ghanaian waitress who served us: she is doing a very good job. We look forward to our next visit.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent service and great value food. The early evening menu has plenty of choice. A lovely venue with comfortable seating and a good atmosphere.

Have eaten at many Cote restaurants and they are all good but Lewes is the best so far, brilliant service and the food was fab will be returning soon

Atmosphere completely ruined by family with screaming children..at times we could hardly hear ourselves speak. Otherwise good, standard Cote fare, though not cheap! Always delivered to a consistent level.

Good service and tasty steak. Definite positive addition to Lewes dining experience and will visit again. Suggest its worth trying out and adding to the 'dining' list.

The food was good and we really enjoyed our visit. There was a problem with the kitchen but the manager and serving staff were exceptionally good so that we left certain to go again. Well done Lewes.

The experience was lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and settling in to their roles steadily as the restaurant is new. The space is great although the back room lacks the twinkle and buzz of the front rooms ..(lighting could be better?) the food was excellent in quality and service prompt in spite of it being very busy - as we have always expected of Cotes. We had a less good experience at lunch earlier in the week, timing very slow, but we were compensated by a bill adjustment which was very fair. We are extremely pleased that Cotes has become part of our town, it will provide us with much social and dining pleasure for years to come!

We thought the food and service were very good, such a change from the usual from other restaurants in Lewes. We’ll definitely return to Cote again soon.

The staff were fantastic and the food was great. We went there for a special occasion and the staff really made us feel welcome and made it a very memorable experience.

Excellent all round, food, staff & ambience. Impressive, clean facilities, no criticisms and we are fussy customers! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, would completely recommend. Top marks!

Very helpful, great food, prompt service. We arrived late but had phoned ahead to warn and it was no trouble despite being a busy Saturday lunchtime.

We had a really lovely 3 course lunch in this brand new restaurant. The service was great, food well presented as always from Cote. Will defiantly return and highly recommend.

We arrived at the restaurant on a miserable, wet Sunday evening to be greeted warmly by Michael. As soon as we settled at the table the waitress appeared with the menu options. The food and service was faultless throughout the evening and we will doubtless return before long.

Great food I’m so pleased cote has come to lewes - it was packed full on a Wednesday which is a good sign. Delicious food

Welcoming service by all the staff - not too obtrusive. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. Food as always was of of good quality - good experience.

The food was very nice and there was a good choice, including for me as a vegetarian. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were helpful. The main downside is that the noise level is quite high because of all the hard surfaces (floor, walls, tables with no tablecloths), which makes it difficult for people who are older to hear each other.

Good value French food if you eat before 7pm and order from the set menu. Overpriced otherwise. Service was good. Be aware that a hefty 12.5% is added to your bill though. Recommend the praline crepe dessert!

Had a lovely meal at Cote in Lewes. The restaurant is really well laid out so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of each other and have privacy. The pre 7pm dinner menu is such good value and the food is excellent. Staff efficient and service too.

Really nice building, friendly staff and good food. We had a very pleasant, unhurried evening. Cote is an excellent addition to Lewes. Would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely friendly staff, food and wine both delicious. My only slight negative would be that the staff weren't as attentive as they could have been. We had to get up and ask for more drinks and also the bill. It wasn't hugely busy it was more due to chatting behind the bar! Not the end of the world but worth mentioning as other guests may not be so relaxed about it.

Not sure why I didn't give it six. Lewes Cote is for grown ups who like intelligent conversation without mindless noise, tasty food, excellent service.

Great service and atmosphere, will come again. They even gave us a free glass of champagne as it was our anniversary! My husband's steak was overdone hence not full marks!

Very good food and service slightly let down by delay on main course due to a technical hitch. Manager dealt with the situation well and offered a £10.00 refund on the bill. We had a very enjoyable evening.

Although only very recently opened, the evening service was good and up to their usual standard found in other locations. Menu had some seasonal specials on top of the very good regular menu. Enjoyed our visit- first time at this location.
