Brilliant food, brilliant informed staff and good price. Still our favourite restaurant chain in U.K. . Best steak ever - even better than in France !

Excellent service in pleasant surroundings. Fish Stew was particularly good. Wine list was good. Restaurant had a good buzz on the Saturday evening - welcome addition to Lewes.

Had a lovely meal last week with 2 friends from NZ very nice ambience and helpful staff. 2nd visit and would return. Roast duck particularly good.

A Sunday lunchtime first visit to this new arrival in Lewes. We both took advantage of the three-course anniversary menu offer. Great food, efficient, friendly service and excellent value.

Wonderful food and service however the restaurant was too hot and stuffy. Needed air conditioning on or windows open. We all felt ill with heat.

Pleasant staff and good value. Both of us had the 2 course lunch special which was well cooked and presented. Will be going back again.

Very nice food, but it was only when we were discussing dessert that we were told there was actually a vegetarian menu! We were disappointed with the two vegetarian options on the main menu so it would have been very helpful to have been told we needed to ask for the separate vegetarian menu It wasn't displayed outside either, so we didn't know it existed!

Cote has consistently good food and great value. A real asset to the top of town. Very pleasant surroundings and a good grown up atmosphere. This review template equates a good atmosphere with a "lively" so I've chosen the only relevant option ,"nothing special". If you want lively or entertaining go to Bills, if you want to talk, go to Cote.

Good food as ever from Cote. The Lewes restaurant is very smart with a nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly. I often eat at the Brighton Cote but I felt the Lewes experience was better overall

Beautiful new Cote restaurant opened in Lewes just two weeks ago...fantastic food, generous portions, and great service… What more could you want? We will definitely be back!

Having had a lunch and a dinner in a week at the newly opened Cote in Lewes, I'm happy to report that the standards of food & service are high. The fixed price menu is very good value. The grandeur of the building has been sympathetically restored too. My only moan is you have to walk miles for the loos.

Lovely atmosphere with comfortable seating complemented by excellent service and food. We will certainly be visiting on a regular basis and have already booked for a couple of group evening's out..

Excellent meal tonight. As a solo, one is often dispatched to the corner beside the toilets, but I was given my free choice by the friendly maitre d' . A thoroughly good meal ensued and any minor blemishes were smoothed over by my delightful server, Omi.

Such a lovely, special birthday meal. The food was excellent, the wine delicious and the staff just superb. One member of the party has coeliacs and they were great about that. I'm so delighted that Lewes has a Cote & they've done a great job with this one.

This was our second visit to a Cote Restaurant and the quality of food and service has been constantly excellent. We would highly recommend a visit.

The tuna was overcooked even thought they had assured me it would be pink. The whole menu was okay but rather boring and I don't think we would be going back. Staff were really nice though.

The food was excellent and a reasonable price. The service was good but a little too many times being asked if everything was alright, interrupting conversation. I shall return often I am sure.

Another chain restaurant manages to defeat the "Not in our town" Lewes brigade. Hooray in this case! Cote producing traditional French cuisine at a standard well above the premium mediocrity of most omnipresent restaurants. The old Lloyds bank providing a smart setting is matched by the very professional service so lacking in most places. This may be the shine of the new, lets hope they can keep it up. The set menu is one of the real bargains around, you will not find cooking of this standard at 11 quid for 2 courses in very many places. Allez Cote!

Very tasty food - service very helpful, also liked the fact that an optional service charge is added to the bill and the receipt states that it goes to the staff.

Really lovely food, and overall nice service. Staff were a bit rushed however I think that was due to how busy it was. Will be back definitely.

We booked a table for two which was ready for us at the appointed time. The menu offered an excellent range of dishes and I chose the breast of duck which was beautifully served and perfectly cooked with sautéed potatoes. AS I was driving I did not have wine, but my partner had a glass of bubbly, The restaurant appeared to be full, with about 100 covers, but this did not affect the service which was excellent. Probably the best restaurant in Lewes.

Amazing lunch. The lunchtime 12-7 set menu is great and really good value as well. It was not too busy and the staff were very helpful and welcoming.

We were a party of six and despite there being no tables for six left the staff were really helpful and juggled some other tables to accommodate us. We had a good meal with good service. The automatic addition of 12.5% to your bill continues to be the biggest irritation about Cote. It embarrasses customers to ask for it to be taken off or changed but then I think that's the idea. We so wish you would stop this sharp practice.

We went for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict - the Hollandaise was too thick and rather tasteless. Coffee was good though. Waitress was also attentive. Service charge of 12.5% slipped in rather than specifically mentioned. On this occasion I was happy to pay it.

We had a lovely time. The staff we excellent, the service was very good. The food was very nice although for me the main portion was a little to big.

First time have tried restaurant. They have done the restaurant up very well. Service was great, very professional. Everyone had a smile. Food was great to. Overall a great experience.

Visited during the first week and thought the menu offered a good selection. Service excellent, staff very friendly and approachable. The side room is a bit noisy as there is no soft furnishing or sound baffles and the large main room may be better if you have problems hearing well in crowded places. First course was good but one of the second courses was delivered with cool potatoes and sauce. This was sent back and re-served after @10 minutes but it did mean that we didn't eat together, although they offered to take the other main back and keep in warm but we felt that this might mean it wasn't as nice. The staff handled the situation very well and didn't charge for that meal. Overall a good experience and we will be visiting again.

It was impressive that a restaurant which had only been open for a week was so lively and full of happy seeming people. The weather was dreadful but we were by no means alone in braving it to eat in Côte!!The food was excellent and the service welcoming and efficient. We are delighted to have a Côte on our doorstep although we shall still go to Chichester branch when we go to theatre there.

Good restaurant with lovely service. Had steak and frites and friend had a vegetarian risotto and both were great. Restaurant was big and busy with a good atmosphere.

Enjoyed the meal and the extra mile you went, Thank you for the champagne, cake & 70th card for my husband. The only downside was I found it rather cramped and noisy where we were seated.

Lovely atmosphere , nice decor. Food very good. Would have liked more choice of beers. Plates could have been a bit hotter. My starter was just warm. Staff very attentive . Looking forward to my next visit.

We were greeted by friendly staff. The food was excellent. My son had Moules+Frites, and I had Steak Tartare+Frites. The pudding was delicious (thin tarte aux pommes and tarte au citron). Highly recommend it.
