As always very good overall experience. Super food, predictable high quality and great service. Early evening menu is great value. I thoroughly recommend and will return soon.
Had a very pleasant evening with friendly staff and good food, would be a perfect 6 but we had to ask for water which is usually on the table and we were brought the wrong coffee
Went with a friend for a birthday lunch and were treated like royalty. Kir Royal on arrival and to end the meal a lovely surprise - a lit candle on a scoop of icecream and fresh strawberries and a handsome young man singing "Happy Birthday". Made my day.
we had another excellent experience from entering to leaving. Made to feel welcome and important, a good table and a good atmosphere and a kir royale too
Excellent breakfast as per usual. Service and quality is unrivalled at this price. The Newbury branch of Cote never disappoints
Everything about the dining experience at Cote Newbury is of a very high standard. The service is efficient and professional, the quality of the food is very high and the value for money is exceptional.
As always excellent friendly service and good value grub. The set meal is really good value offering a wide choice and types of meal. Well done Cote Newbury.
Food superb as usual but was very busy so slight delay between main and desert, otherwise a definite 6. The Pork Belly is excellent and always my favourite.
As always, the staff were welcoming and efficient. Our starters were very good - fish soup and smoked salmon. Very good portions and extremely nice. Main courses were a little disappointing. Rib eye steak was not as good a quality as I would expect from Cote. Confit duck was nice, but the sauce had been put on a hot plate (which is good) but had congealed by the time it got to me, so basically there was no sauce, which was a shame. Will not put us of going again, overall a good meal out, thank you.
Great food, the 2 or 3 course set menu is excellent value for money. Outstanding service as is the norm. Overall a lovely evening dining experience.
The food here is very nice but on the pricy side. I was delighted to see the sea bass back on the menu but I do object to having to pay extra for any potatoes or veg. What I really don't like is the service charge being added to the bill. I know it is optional but I feel as though they sneak it in and hope you don't notice. Our bill for 3 people came to £140 of which £15 was service charge. The service was ok but not exceptional.
Nice, but limited lunch menu. Very quick service, friendly staff, very helpful. The food was very good. Not too big portions. I would go again.
Good food from a good menu and great friendly service - a good location right in the centre of Newbury. We really enjoyed our lunch. We’ll be back!
food and service was great. We had to ask for our waiter about our desert orders, as they seem to have forgotten about this, which made some the party members to miss their train.
We ate at the Newbury Cote, the staff were efficient and friendly. The meal was excellent, and plenty of choice. As it was freezing cold outside it was nice to be somewhere lovely and warm. A good experience will go again.
Food good as always and service was very efficient. Waitress could have been a bit more cheerful but usually staff are friendly and helpful Will be there again
Very happy experience at Cote Brasserie in Newbury! Attentive service and delicious food as we have come to expect from Cote. Recommend the charcuterie board, French onion soup, Breton fish stew, and the chicken.
Excellent breakfast good value Perfect poached eggs Good service and lovely Côte restaurant setting Love going to breakfast at Cote My favourite treat and good start to the day
We had booked a table for 12noon as we had friends visiting Newbury for the first time and we wanted a late brunch. Depite the fact that it was really busy they kindly held our table until we had finished our walk around town . 3 of us chose the French breakfast as we adore the Boudin Noir and anoter chose the Eggs Royale. Coffee was excellent and the meals arrived hot and perfectly cooked. Staff were attentive but not pushy. Good food, busy atmposhere —- our visitors were very impressed,
The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. It is a pleasant restaurant to spend time in and the food is good quality. Overall I'm happy with the experience and paid a fair price, good value.
Perfect! Warm welcome and friendly and efficient service! Wonderful, authentically French , food with something for everyone on the menu, and for all ages. And the wine was excellent! Very affordable! Unmissable!
We had an excellent meal and the staff were friendly and enthusiastic as usual. Not a 6 due to long delay on sweets which was handled extremely efficiently by the manager, who financially compensated us for it. Won’t stop us going again. Love Cote restaurants.
Good service, good food and great atmosphere. Despite ordering the cheaper Early Bird menu, we weren't rushed at all and had a great three hour dinner!!
Warm welcome. Super food. Speedy service. Happy atmosphere. Good value for money. We shall recommend to our friends and of course we will return. One of the best eateries in Newbury.
Unusual to have a poor experience at Cote but today was very disappointing. It was very busy and looked as though they were short staffed. We had a very long wait between courses and then the mussels were somewhat undercooked. However the manager was very apologetic and discounted the bill so they redeemed themselves a little and we will continue to visit Cote in Newbury
Very good menu, excellent value for money. Service good, ambience tip top. Located perfectly in heart of pedestrianised Main Street of town. A real plus to living in Newbury.
We love cote restaurants. We try to go to them whenever we are travelling around or meeting friends. We are delighted that we have a local one now in Bournemouth. Hard to beat for a perfect well priced lunch. Staff are well trained and very efficient.
Amazing place with amazing staff. The food is excellent quality and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommend this place
Great food and service as usual. The pork belly is just delicious and keeps us coming back. All the staff are so friendly and polite without being over attentive. Perfect!
Four of us enjoyed The Early Bird and the food was excellent. Had requested a booth so was a little disappointed we didn’t get one.
the service was very slow today, we had to wait for about 50 mins for our first course, which was not up to your standard which we have received in the past,
Food was delicious, hot and tasty. Service fine and friendly waiter. However we were sitting near the toilets and there was a lot of traffic to and fro with people visiting the toliets and the work station was nearby.
Always a busy pleasant atmosphere no matter what time of the day. Great selection of food and the special set menu is a bargain price.
Another great meal! Cote never lets us down... Despite being incredibly busy, we had excellent service, a very hot meal delivered, and an unrushed, enjoyable meal! Well done!

Despite it being a Saturday night, they were understaffed so quite a wait for service. The food that we had tasted lovely. I had fish pie which was nice, but didn't come with any vegetables or anything to accompany it. Partner had duck, which again didn't come with any vegetables. All in all, it wasn't worth the money we paid for it, but it was nice enough.
A very warm welcome as usual. A very interesting set menu and I would recommend the blood orange salad as they are only here for a short season. Food excellent, nd something to die for...The chocolate pot!!!
We had the moules and it was just like being back in France. The staff were obviously stretched but it was still service with a smile. Out of all the chain restaurants this is the one that maintains its standards and is a safe bet.
A lovely meal, attentive staff and the fish stew was really good! A 6 would be to have sat not quite so close to the ever opening and closing kitchen door, just a bit noisy.
A lovely restaurant in Newbury with good food, served well. The cost of around £27 for two courses including a glass of wine per person was reasonable. We will definitely return to Cote Brasserie next time we come to Newbury and hopefully look them out in other towns we visit.
Table close together & unfortunately we were next to a larger table who were extremely loud & we were having to raise our voices & lean in to hear our conversation - not conducive to a relaxing meal. Food & service were excellent
Always good even when busy. Good varied menu changes regularly with a good selection of beer and wine. French influenced with something to suit everyone .
Great food and great service. Food was on point and hot, enjoyed my first ever fish pie. I will come back again in the future
Very good on the whole but the service was a bit slow to star with. Food good and waiters etc very pleasant. Will certainly go again.
Not to happy with the service had to get up and ask for the pudding menu twice we booked early so we would not have to be late to go to a show seems like they were ignoring us
My second visit to Cote Newbury this time on Valentines day. As I expected there was a special menu and most tables were occupied at 8:00 PM giving plenty of atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staffing level had clearly been scaled up to cope with the occasion. Very good all round.
Cote at Newbury is excellent and my wife and I entertained two visitors to the standard three corse lunch. The service was impeccable and the food excellent.
My husband and I had a lovely time at Cote Newbury on Valentine’s. We enjoyed the valentine’s menu. The staff were great on what was a very busy evening and we had a lov ly meal
First time at Côte Newbury. Breakfast at 10.00am on a Monday morning. Staff friendly and attentive. Restaurant clean, airy and warm. Eggs both poached for wife and scrambled for me were excellent. Toast, granary and white, excellent. Sausages juicy and well cooked. Bacon, so hard my wife could not cut hers and mine took some concentrated chewing. Suspect the bacon was cooked earlier and then kept on a hot tray where it "baked". Will we come here again, yes, though may try a different breakfast without the bacon!
Really great experience, food was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cote. Service was fantastic and we had no issues with any aspect of our dinner.
Set lunch is amazing value. Always busy with a good atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend
