service was good and starter of crab and avocado perfect. however the fish cakes were surrounded by far too much garlic oil and lacked fish they seemed to be nothing but potato. A very disappointing meal in Newbury.

Another fantastic lunch. Service extremely efficient and food delicious as always. I ordered the crab and avocado starter and goats cheese and walnut salad for main. Both delicious and for £10.95 you can't go wrong.

Portion sizes rather small. 4 small tomatoes, a handful of leaves and 3 or 4 scant shavings of cheese hardly constitutes a starter at these prices. To be fair though it is all quite fresh.

Good as usual. Went there for Father's Day dinner with my dad, mum, daughter and husband and we were all happy with the food an service. I just wish they had said something about Father's Day or had a Father's Day menu to make them feel more special. Overall I recommend this place.

Pretty good experience. Given a good table in a quiet location. Food was excellent as always. Had to ask to order coffees and get the bill as we were in a bit of a hurry but shouldn't really complain about relaxed service as normally that's the whole point of going to Cote!

We use Cote Brasserie when in London and the Newbury branch and find the staff to be first class. We have come to the conclusion the training they are given is consistent and good. Very prompt service but not rushed, staff tentative but not in your face, have a brilliant attitude towards children and always have a smile on their faces. Food?? Absolutely brilliant, with a change of seasonal menu.

Staff pleasant and service fine. I had the omelette and my salad was past it's best..limp and old. Crumble for dessert was fine apart from a strange hard lump in it that felt like it could have broken my tooth. I object to the so called optional service charge that was added. We declined to pay the full amount.

Good service, and always an excellent meal. We think the best in Newbury. We favour the daily menu, because it is such excellent value, but the A la Carte is brilliant also.

Excellent service as always. I tried the French toast with fresh fruit salad a maple syrup for a change and it was so delicious, it has become my new, favourite breakfast.

As usual the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere was great. I would and do highly recommend it to my friends .

Main and dessert were delicious but the choice of starters on the early evening menu was limited and I wasn't impressed with the starter that me or my friend had.

I would have rated it a 6 but unfortunately there was a very rowdy group of about 15 people who were not very complimentary to other guests. The service as ever was perfect.

My partner and I took his parents here for lunch on Bank Holiday Sunday. Fantastic service, lovely decor and the food was outstanding. We were really impressed with the standard and we all agreed that it didn't feel like a chain restaurant as it had its own sense of identity and quality.

Tried the new vegetarian menu. It was very good. Just. One minor criticism, the tomatoes were missed out of the omelette. This was rectified very quickly by the staff who provided us with a large plate of tomatoes!

Had breakfast and dinner here on same day as visiting Newbury Races. Food was very good both times, very efficient service with lovely staff. Live too far from Newbury but would definitely eat here again next time we do come back !
