Excellent service - but only two vegetarian choices, neither of which I liked

The food & service is amazing here. Fish & belly pork cooked to perfection. Service absolutely spot on. Polite, professional, friendly but not intrusive. We come here every time we are in Newbury !!

This was our first date after 'meeting' during lockdown. Our server was fantastic fun and also sent us a glass of fizz each with her compliments to celebrate our date. The food was superb and the restaurant felt as normal as it could considering the tremendous measures they are having to take to keep everyone safe. Thanks so much to all at Cote!

I love this restaurant it's my favorite restaurant around newbury, i really enjoy everytime when i had meal with my wife, staff 5 stars, food 4 stars i rate the food because i'm a chef, anyway lovely food lovely staff keep going guys you do the best!

Lovely, as always. Our first visit back and it was so nice. Used ‘Cote at Home’ during lockdown and that was fantastic. Would love to be able to use that going forward. Consistently good.

Great to see the restaurant busy again, the food was first class as always. Despite one or two crashes with the waitresses / waiters it was great to be amongst the hustle and bustle ....loved it !

The food was amazing, and all the staff were friendly and made sure that our time at cote was a good one. I can imagine all the staff have been working hard with this Eat out to Help out scheme, so its so nice to see them all still smiling and looking after customers without fault. Well done all for dealing with these odd times so well, and with such professionalism.

We were welcomed into the restaurant even more than normal - and that's saying something. We were a party of five and were escorted to our table on the upper floor. This was excellent as the temperature was more pleasant. Ordering our individual meals was perfect, as we weren't too rushed to make a choice from the A la Carte menu. The choice is amazing. We had a variety of dishes between us and everyone of them received a 'thumbs up'. We were able to participate in the Governments discount plan that proved exceptionally good value. We had a 10 year old boy with us and he was given incredibly good service! We have visited the Cote in Newbury regularly for several years and have never had anything but praise to everyone. Well done.

Taking advantage of the Chancellors discount, we booked our favourite Newbury restaurant and as ever were not disappointed. The food was great and particularly the lamb and the service good albeit a bit slow, but given that the restaurant was full to the rafters, you can understand this. We did change our booking at the last minute with no problem, so a tick up for that. The only criticism I could find was the noise level. It may be something peculiar to Newbury but I found it quite hard to hear the staff, particularly with the new (unavoidable) face masks.

Excellent meal and all requisite precautions in place. Very nice to see staff there who had been at the restaurant before the lockdown.

Food was lovely but the 12.5% added to the bill for tip was very disappointing it up my bill to quiet a lot to pay if I want to leave a tip I would like to on my own choice not yours so as I see it my £20 of the meal for my parter and me went down to £12 as £8 plus come off my bill We wasn’t even asked if we wanted to pay this when we payed for our meal

It was our wedding anniversary, complimentary drinks was a lovely surprise and very much appreciated. Overall excellent meal, staff outstanding in their service and friendliness. Would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

Six stars! Although my wife received a suspect steak, our complaint was dealt with understanding and with complete regard for the customer, immediately. Replacement dish was excellent and served promptly. Thank you Cote for your understanding and customer service.

Great to be back at Cote now they have reopened. Food was great as always and service friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing meal.
