Good service, good food, good wine, good setup and good atmosphere.

We ate at Côte Newcastle on 5 nights as part of a holiday in the city. Eating regularly at a restaurant gives an insight to the way it's run, and our impression of the Côte Newcastle team couldn't be more positive. The duty managers seemed totally focussed on delivering excellent service to customers, while the table and kitchen staff worked together well, supporting each other when under pressure. The standard of cooking was consistently high in all our visits. It's not easy to find a restaurant offering good food with plenty of choice at reasonable prices, but that's what Côte delivered for us. Table service was exemplary. The staff gave the impression of being excellently trained and on-message without simply delivering a prepared script when serving. We like table staff to be friendly and professional without being intrusive. It can be unfair to single out individuals, but we would mention Houman (very experienced) and Michael (relatively new) not because they were better than others but because their service exemplified the kind of approach we enjoy. We've thought hard to find something to criticise but, aside from waiting a while for a course one evening when the place was packed, we can't recall anything significant. The time we spent at Côte Newcastle was a memorable part of our holiday. We'll certainly return when we visit the city again.

Absolutely brilliant. mark the manager, was a cool cat but hats off to Harry. Brilliant entertaining and pleasant chap. Food was really nice and a good experience.

Excellent meal. The restaurant was very quiet which allowed us to thoroughly enjoy a relaxed meal. The service was good, attentive without being intrusive. The food was hot and well presented. We will definitely be back.

I am a very regular customer at Newcastle Cote and Horsham Cote and I absolutely love your restaurants.However I brought a friend to your Newcastle restaurant last week and we were very disappointed with the quality of the waiter service; unusually not enough attention was given to our table. Wine was kept in a chiller a good distance from our table and it was rather awkward having to get it and serve it ourselves.I would , of course, been quite happy to serve our wine had it been in a chiller or ice bucket closer to our table. Additionally we waited over half an hour for additional water to be brought to our table. I had asked our waiter for water three times and then I asked another waiter who brought it immediately. However our waiter did recognise that he had been less than attentive ( seemed to spend some time talking to another waiter)and our bottle of wine was billed as complimentary and he was very apologetic. I was of course grateful for this courtesy but nonetheless felt it important to point this out to you. Kind regards, Susan Dowson.

Awesome experience. Brilliant staff especially the manager Mark and the brilliant Harry!! Give the man a payrise!! Food was amazing and full of flavour. 6 stars isn't enough :)

I was not aware of the restaurant until a friend recommended it. I read the reviews online and checked the menu out, following which I booked a table for 4. I was very impressed, with the quality of food and friendly, professional staff. The 4 of us had a great night, so much so, we will be returning very soon.

The food was excellent and superb value for money. The service was also faultless and, as for the creme caramel, it was the best we had ever tasted. Worth returning for that alone! We will certainly be back.

Back to its best - we had a great evening food, staff & atmosphere were absolutely excellent. We can't wait to come back again - it just has got that "Je ne sais Quoi" back !!

Nice atmosphere but the service is unsatisfactory. There were only two waiters to serve more than 20 tables. They were clearly overwhelmed. Broke a glass while carrying the cutleries and didn’t even bother to reply our enquires. They just ignored us.

Lovely food and atmosphere. While in no way did it spoil the evening there didn't seem to be enough staff as the restaurant was busy despite it being a Monday. Will however be back again soon as good value central restaurant

Fantastic service, food was spot on from first bite to last.

Lunch for 3 food, service and atmosphere god as usual but 12.5% service charge is way too high.

I am French and this place is like being in France, I am sure the chef is french because the food was very delicious !!! And the service is very professional and irreproachable. We'll definitely come back !

Warm welcome, great service and great food. Booking is simple. This was our second visit and the service and food were of the highest standard on both occasions.

Lovely lunch Had to wait rather longer than expected for our main courses but apologies and round of free drinks most appreciated. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Recommend the pork in thyme jus ! I asked for the service charge to be removed (I think additional 12/half percent a bit steep ) - no problem and we left cash tip . Will return.

The whole experience of Cote Brasserie is excellent. The food the ambience and staff are top rate.

Our visit was excellent, we took two friends for their first visit and they loved it.

Met friends for an early supper who had not dined here before and they were well impressed .We just love it.

Great night out with old friends, looking forward to next time

We have been to this restaurant several times and it’s never let us down. The staff are always pleasant so helpful and great with our 2 children. The food was really good apart from my dads steak it wasn’t cooked as requested. the staff took it back no question or issue but my dad didn’t like it or enjoy regardless which was a shame. That said the rest of us (5) all enjoyed our meals so hoping it was just a slip.

Always a good experience at Cote. Only slightly marked down in atmosphere and noise level because we were in the 'off shoot" and not the main room.

Our waiter Michael was excellent - friendly and efficient, explaining all the dining options. Food was very good and we were given a free bottle of beautiful red wine which made our day. Thank You we have been many times and Cote is fast becoming our favourite restaurant. Terry and Anne Baldwin

Group of 6 ladies who lunch. Delicious food. Set menu is excellent value. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. We weren't hurried even though it was Saturday lunchtime. Couldn't have been better. Thanks!
