As always, the food was perfect and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. This is why the Cote is our favourite restaurant chain, and we always look out for them wherever we go.

Warm, but rather delayed welcome . Shown to our table in a friendly way too but had to wait a long time before ordering a drink. Food arrived quickly and starters were good. The Muscadet was good too! My partners lamb rump looked and he said tasted very good but my crepes were over cooked and disappointing. Excellent peppermint tea. Service was good but not good enough to deserve 12.5%

Really enjoyed our meal and wine. I would have preferred a larger wine glass as they were quiet small. But other than that all food was tasty and great price too. Service was fab too

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, service and ambience of the whole meal. We felt like we’d upset the waiter by topping up our own wine, which speaks volumes for the service. Excellent knowledge, recommendations and general service. We’ll be back again.

A great place in the city centre serving lovely food at a good price. The staff can’t be more friendly or helpful. I can’t wait to be able to go back next time I stay in Newcastle!

We had the upstairs room for 17. We all enjoyed the food and wine and service was good, although an extra pair of hands were needed. The room itself was a bit stark in comparison to the restaurant.

Not as good as previous, missing some basics 4 of us ordered the Charcuterie board for starter. When it arrived, we noticed there was no duck meat on it. We asked the manager, who confirmed there should be. On checking with the Chef - he advised her that they had run out. Surely customers should be advised when ordering. For Dessert - we ordered two lemon Creme Brulee's. The gluten free one came, and was clearly just a normal Creme Brulee, not a hint of lemon (unlike the other one). Staff apologised, and adjusted the bill accordingly - but do expect better!

Lovely meal but they’d run out of the cocktail I wanted, the wine we wanted and the main course I’d chosen.

We had lunch on Saturday and chose the Prestige Set Menu which we found to be very good value. The duck terrine starter was particularly good with an excellent apple chutney. Both the rib eye steak and tenderloin pork mains were delicious with good quality ingredients. The prompt service was excellent from Harry our waiter and the room was exceptionally clean and tidy.

Was all ok, we ordered bread to start however weren’t given any plates so had to ask for these. We ordered off the mains of a set menu and were given the regular dessert menu and had to ask for the set menu so we could see the dessert. Staff seemed very rushed off their feet and short staffed. The table next to us complained. Thought it was a strange way of serving that food runners must bring the food out on large trays and then they wait for a server to put lift the food off the tray and put it on the table. When our mains were being served the food runner was at our table however no server was free so they had to go and find one. Not worth the money.

The wine was very nice. The service was thoughtful and smiley without being pushy. The starter was very tasty and the bread good. The mains were not as good with the chicken (poulet grille) being a tiny bit dry but very tasty. The fish pie or gratin wasn’t very good. Any sauce had been completely absorbed by the mash which felt overheated. Definitely more potato than fish. The puddings were completely yummy.
