Food was very average and fairly expensive. Steak was tasteless and quite tough. Calamari straight from the freezer. Nice staff, and helpful. Expensive for what it is.

Lovely evening with my husband, last minute booking, Shrewsbury Cote is a favourite of ours. Very friendly staff.

French Onion soup was fab as usual! Very generous portion of mussels for a starter. Service was cheerful and friendly - many thanks to the waitress who found us a quiet table hen moved another one next to it to give us a bit more space. A very pleasant evening!

I had the Breton chicken, which was ok but a little dry, compared to the last occasion I had it. The green beans, although i prefer them with crutch, were under cooked and cool. My Mum’s rib steak was lovely 😊

First of all I must say that ALL the staff are Fantastic - every time I visit Cote in Shrewsbury the staff there never fail to excel: from the welcome at the door, to the waiting staff, management ........... This visit proved to be of the same high standard: exceptional service, lovely food and staff that really wanted you to enjoy your evening. The only reason they have not got 5 stars is that there is always room for improvement. WELL DONE for making it a memorable evening for my wife and I - all staff deserve to be thanked. On a final note - I do like your Service Charge policy - if the service is this good then the staff deserve the mandatory tip - and it saves me having to concern myself with how much to pay them.

We chose from the 3-course February menu. Lovely food, well presented. The creme brulee was one of the best desserts I've ever had - worth going back just for that!

Fabulous food as always. Just a little disappointed with some aspects of the service. we had ordered some bread before our meal after about 10 mins we were hurriedly informed that there was no bread and it would be removed from our bill. The waiter didn’t wait to ask if we’d like anything to replace the bread! We had two young children with us who were getting hungrier. After another 10 mins a member of staff did arrive with bread and apologies for the wait. Main meal was delicious however we were charged for the bread :)

I thought that the food was excellent but the tables are far too close together. I would have preferred a bit more distance between tables so that I would not be forced to listen to a high volume conversation from the next table.This detracted from the overall experience.

As ever, very friendly, efficient staff, fabulous food and a wonderful choice especially for me, as I have Coeliac Disease and often have a disappointingly limited choice. It was a pity that the advertised complimentary Rhubarb Martini couldn't happen as the Rhubarb element hadn't been delivered but an alternative drink was offered and happily accepted!

We have visited this restaurant before and found it nice and placed ideally near the town centre, unfortunately this time although the service wasn't terrible it was slow and are drinks were wrong for are first ordèr and we had to grab a member of staff to get are second round ordered then the wait between are starters and main meals seemed a long time especially as we only stopped for lunch . While it wasn't a bad experience for the money we paid we had expected a lot more from COTE.

We have eaten at Cote many times and always enjoy the experience. I said to my husband tonight, this is a quality meal. The food is always cooked and presented to perfection and the staff are welcoming, efficient and friendly. The ambience is great with nice background music and pleasant surroundings. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and Germain gin and tonic cocktail which made our evening even more special.

The main course was decent, tasty & warm, although the green beans weren't trimmed so we did it ourselves. No slice of lemon for the water, good wine lest but white wine not chilled enough. The crepe was disappointing, luke warm with a small squirt of cream. Coffee excellent. Presentation not very good. Not much care put into any of it. Service: We weren't looked after by one waitress, as is the norm, but by a few different waitresses, who ever was passing . We waited a good while before any of them noticed we'd finished our main course so it was a while before our plates were taken away & then I had to go and get the desert menu myself as we couldn't get the attention of any of the waitresses, even though the restaurant was almost empty. It looked as if it was being run by a bunch of teenagers, there wasn't a genuine adult anywhere to be seen (except at the very end) & it showed. Get an grown up manager on site & some more mature staff. As you're charging 12% service charge you owe it to your customers. Surely.

This Was our second time and did not disappoint . From opening the door to being seated we were all made to feel welcome . Thankyou for a very enjoyable evening good food ,wine and company what more could you need . Definitely would recommend

There were nine of us and we were all served together with lovely hot meals. Service was excellent by very cheerful staff. Would definitely visit again.

Went for valentines day and was far from impressed. Poor choice of food. Over stretched themselves where staff couldn't cope. Had an hour gap between every course. Food came out cold, puddings melted. Very poor quality and value for money

Lamb cutlets excelant, Duck Breast ok but a little dry. Still good, will come again.

Starter was v quick. Main course slow (took c 50 mins post starter being finished.) Few other issues, my steak not medium rare as requested, it was in parts medium and in others well done. Had to chase up chips and peas had mint on them when we had requested that they should not. A little disappointing all in all.

Staff friendly and professional Food disappointing Husband ordered goats cheese salad.. one thin slice of goats cheese at £10 is poor value I had Breton chicken which was dry and like cardboard. We had a lovely meal at Cote in Shrewsbury I’m the Saturday night. We’d booked which was just as well as it was very busy, with a good atmosphere and excellent service. The food was delicious with a varied menu offered.

Really good Sunday lunch - three generations of family to celebrate our sons 18th. Staff were helpful with ordering and kindly brought his pudding with a birthday message on the plate and candle/sparkler. Food was well cooked, sensible portions and nice interiors. Thank you.

Have been enjoying this place for a few months now, wonderful food and great lunch time offers. Friendly and helpful staff, great prices too. We are yet to dry dinner here, but breakfast and lunch both outstanding.
