Great starters- Prawns and Chicken Parfait. One good Main, Breton Chicken, one Poor Main, Lamb cutlets- overdone and cold. To be fair we were offered a replacement but what’s the point of one eating their Main while the other waits? Good service, good spacing, reasonable ambience. The bill should have been £65, £45 under the current Government subsidy. Disappointing overall, I doubt we’ll go again.

Great starters - really excellent! My lamb smelled, looked and tasted burned. It was mostly cooked 'well done' rather than medium but it was the burned smell and taste that spoiled it the most. My wife's Beef Bourgignon was a little dry but taste was good. Her ice cream was supposed to be vanilla. Neither of us could identify the flavour other than that it appeared not to have vanilla flavour. My crêpe wasn't particularly enjoyable. Perhaps it was supposed to be served warm. I'm unfamiliar with this dish. It was a bit noisy. Our last visit was a better experience (apart from the starters today). We find quality to be inconsistent sadly.

Lovely meal here on a Tuesday lunchtime. Very attentative staff. We had chicken walnut salad which was very nice and chicken and potato gratin, also very nice although not quite piping hot. Desserts were crepes, well presented and enjoyed. Disappointed apple dessert and chocolate fondant had both ran out but a decent alternative offered. A very busy restaurant with eat in to help out offer on so not a surprise. Overall very nice and would recommend.

We are great fans of Cote and have never been disappointed. However, unfortunately, this time was marred by the logistics. Someone had underestimated the demand and many items were off the menu. We had an enjoyable evening overall the staff were very attentive as always and apologised for the lack of choice. It was a shame because we were celebrating our fortieth wedding anniversary.

I have to be honest that as our meal was booked for 6.30pm there were already 4 items that were not available. When we came to order our meal another item was also not available. This was disappointing and to be honest from someone who has worked in this industry unacceptable. The company knew how many people were booked and should have had a good idea of the dishes that would be ordered. If I was being cynical they didn’t care, just get people on seats and as they’ve booked they won’t walk away. The food we had was average and not what I would have expected- to be honest I can cook a better beef Bourgogne at home. Despite this we had a nice evening and the staff could not be faulted

Great to be back!!! Excellent all round, such an enjoyable experience - we’ve waited a long time for that pork belly and it didn’t disappoint. The desserts went down very well all round too. Lovely to see the same friendly and attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait until next time!!

We are certainly glad we booked a table for tonight’s supper, as groups were being turned away as the restaurant was full, whilst we were in the queue. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and our table was Adequately socially distanced from the next one. Our food was delicious and well presented. My daughter was a little disappointed with the unavailability of orangina as she does not drink alcohol but enjoyed the lemonade instead.

As always excellent service and excellent food. We have 3 children 5, 8 and 13, the children's menu is flexible so our eldest had a starter and desert from this, and a main from the adult menu. We would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately our latest visit was slightly disappointing and very different from the week before. The menu had quite a few dishes that were "not available" ......... understandable I suppose if they have been busy, but there were other issues. For some reason my Lobster was very over cooked, dry and chewy and the Sea Bream was also dry /over cooked. We also had issues with one of the children orders, where we had ordered the sausage option but asked for frites rather than the dauphinois potatoes. We were then told that there actually wasn't any sausage left, so we changed it to char grilled chicken ....... which turned up with dauphinois potatoes!! These aren't the usual good standards that we have experienced with many previous visits and so let's hope that it was just an off day.

Hi, sadly we were unable to dine with you on Wednesday. After waiting for an hour our starters still had not arrived so we decided it was best to go elsewhere. Your team were very apologetic & offered us a free meal on our next visit, however we don’t live in Shrewsbury so it is unlikely we will visit the restaurant again in the next 6 months. Please could you let me know if we can use it in a different branch?

The food was sub-par and we expected better for the price we paid. We were fortunate that we went on a Monday so we made use of the discount, but it was still not great. My beef bourguignon tasted burnt and had no flavour to it. I expected a rich and wine-flavoured stew, but it wasn’t either of those things. At least the beef was soft though! Service was ok, if a bit rushed but they were busy.

90% of the menu was not available, the reason beng the huge amount of covers done from Monday -Wednesday under the Govt incentive scheme. Good for you but don’t open on a Thursday night if you have no food ! Almost laughable when manager went through menu and literally pretty much all the main courses were unavailable!

Two of us took our first meal out since COVID lockdown and were joined by two of our friends. Côte Shrewsbury is one of our favourite places to eat so we were looking forward to it. We were cheerfully greeted by staff and seating was very safe - lots of social distancing and staff wearing visors. (We were not invited to use hand sanitiser on entering which would be a good idea). Whenever tables were vacated extensive and thorough cleaning took place so we were very re-assured about cleanliness standards. Service was a little slow to start and usually we would be given water and offered bread to start but we had to wait 10 mins before our drinks order was taken and that was after a prompt from us. Once our waiter was assigned though everything ran smoothly and, apart from a small slip with a missing side dish, we all enjoyed our meals. In the food department, which in the past, has been excellent we would recommend a few adjustments - starters were very tasty but the layer of fat on top of the rillettes was very resistant to removal and they were very sizeable portions for the amount of bread, however the crab salad was very good. Our fries with the mains were overcooked, the lobster was good and well prepared, but a little dry and, for the price, requires something beyond watercress, dill sauce and fries as an accompaniment. The steak was cooked as requested and tasty, the Bream and duck were tasty and well received. Puddings were delicious, Creme Caramel to die for. We recognise these are challenging times and we congratulate all the staff on making us feel safe and working under difficult circumstances and we're sure, if some of the little glitches (hence not 5*) can be resolved, Côte will once again achieve very high standards.

My mother and I treated ourselves to supper out using the Eat out to help out scheme. The food was absolutely delicious, we had incredibly efficient service throughout our time in the restaurant; attentive without being overbearing and were never made to feel rushed, also despite the queue outside we were shown straight to our table. Pleased that the atmosphere inside the restaurant was good, felt safe and socially distanced while still having the buzz of eating out. Can’t wait to return again.
