Côte Shrewsbury

We visited the shrewsbury branch and really enjoyed sitting outside in the new seating area. Our food was very tasty, excellent value and fast service.

Don't like the "discretionary" service charge added to the bill. Otherwise food and service very good.

Shame the menu was so depleted, almost non existent, one should plan ahead? Especially as everyone was pre-booked. Very disappointed. Food was very salty. Serving staff were very helpful and apologetic. Two complimentary cups of tea did not make up for the lack of choice in starters, mains and deserts!!

We had a really relaxing lunch time. Service was great, felt safe and secure and the food was really good!

Charged us for bread That was not delivered, slow and poor service (excluding covid benefit of the doubt), food was overcooked but not awful. overall for the price, quite a poor experience.

Although we had booked a table for 8.15 it was net ready when we arrived. We were greeted and apologised too and offered a complimentary drink whilst we waited. We had to sit outside it was chilly and soon found us wanting to go back inside as it was too cold. When we got to out table out waiter was delightful and helped us choose food and wine. Food was great tasty and well seasoned Fish Parimentier and cheese burger with bacon and and bottle of house white wine Lagarda I think it was called which was lovely. Thank you Cote. We will be back

Has a lovely evening and glad to see Cote open again. Very friendly staff with a bit of banter in there too. Only marked down because of an automatic service charge added to the bill, otherwise a great night.

Service was speedy and food was great. Top marks to you!

Great meal. Fast service. Staff very attentive and professional. Only one niggle I don’t like the practice of adding a service charge to the bill, it is optional but I prefer to tip as I feel necessary!

As chain restaurants go its top of the tree. Will go again

Excellent food and service. Waiter was polite and helpful during an exceptionally busy time, not easy whilst having to wear a face mask during this time of pandemic. Myself and my partner will be visiting as often as we can. Thank you.

Thank heavens for Cote in Shrewsbury . We have eaten there several times since they re-opened and it has been a lovely experience every time . The staff are unfailingly friendly and professional, the food is lovely and the new continental style eating outside has been blissful. I have had the sea bream main course five times recently and it has been perfect every time. The Provence Rose is great value and a perfect summer wine. Well done Cote !! you get 6 stars from us on every count! Tim and Keeley

Excellent food and brilliant attentive service. We sat in the courtyard with heaters and blankets were provided. Food was prepared with skill and obviously good quality produce. The service was efficient and friendly. Will definitely come again.

Great starters- Prawns and Chicken Parfait. One good Main, Breton Chicken, one Poor Main, Lamb cutlets- overdone and cold. To be fair we were offered a replacement but what’s the point of one eating their Main while the other waits? Good service, good spacing, reasonable ambience. The bill should have been £65, £45 under the current Government subsidy. Disappointing overall, I doubt we’ll go again.

Great starters - really excellent! My lamb smelled, looked and tasted burned. It was mostly cooked 'well done' rather than medium but it was the burned smell and taste that spoiled it the most. My wife's Beef Bourgignon was a little dry but taste was good. Her ice cream was supposed to be vanilla. Neither of us could identify the flavour other than that it appeared not to have vanilla flavour. My crêpe wasn't particularly enjoyable. Perhaps it was supposed to be served warm. I'm unfamiliar with this dish. It was a bit noisy. Our last visit was a better experience (apart from the starters today). We find quality to be inconsistent sadly.

Lovely meal here on a Tuesday lunchtime. Very attentative staff. We had chicken walnut salad which was very nice and chicken and potato gratin, also very nice although not quite piping hot. Desserts were crepes, well presented and enjoyed. Disappointed apple dessert and chocolate fondant had both ran out but a decent alternative offered. A very busy restaurant with eat in to help out offer on so not a surprise. Overall very nice and would recommend.

We are great fans of Cote and have never been disappointed. However, unfortunately, this time was marred by the logistics. Someone had underestimated the demand and many items were off the menu. We had an enjoyable evening overall the staff were very attentive as always and apologised for the lack of choice. It was a shame because we were celebrating our fortieth wedding anniversary.

Pleasant evening with very attentive service and fine quality cuisine.

I have to be honest that as our meal was booked for 6.30pm there were already 4 items that were not available. When we came to order our meal another item was also not available. This was disappointing and to be honest from someone who has worked in this industry unacceptable. The company knew how many people were booked and should have had a good idea of the dishes that would be ordered. If I was being cynical they didn’t care, just get people on seats and as they’ve booked they won’t walk away. The food we had was average and not what I would have expected- to be honest I can cook a better beef Bourgogne at home. Despite this we had a nice evening and the staff could not be faulted

Lovely location staff well briefed brassiere menu excellent quality of food very good. We were really looking forward to the lobster and chips as this was sent to me on an advertised link but alas this was not available on the day we had lunch...... The service was very good and the food first class. We were both very happy indeed.

Great to be back!!! Excellent all round, such an enjoyable experience - we’ve waited a long time for that pork belly and it didn’t disappoint. The desserts went down very well all round too. Lovely to see the same friendly and attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait until next time!!

We are certainly glad we booked a table for tonight’s supper, as groups were being turned away as the restaurant was full, whilst we were in the queue. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and our table was Adequately socially distanced from the next one. Our food was delicious and well presented. My daughter was a little disappointed with the unavailability of orangina as she does not drink alcohol but enjoyed the lemonade instead.
