I went to Cote in St Albans last night with friends. We had a great evening. The service was friendly and the food was delicious.
Cote has a lovely atmosphere and as always, the service was brilliant. They have a wide selection of gluten free options and are very accommodating.
A lovely lunch, excellent food, with a varied menu, something to suit everyone and served very speedily, and a very efficient waitress. Will return again. Thank you Cote Brasserie
Food was the usual good standard. Service was excellent until the restaurant got busier and then slowed down. Never got a bottle of water I requested.
Excellent service, such a good menu, could have just eaten my way through starters! Black pudding awesome! Calamari perfect. My Breton fish stew was terrific. No room for dessert! Lively atmosphere.
Five of us had great steaks, my sister's was sent back once for being overcooked it was replaced with a new steak just as over cooked. She said it was like the sole of a shoe. As we waited ten minutes for her second steak we did not return it as we would have all finished the meal before hers arrived.
I keep coming back as the staff are well mannered, well trained and very helpful and the food is excellent. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
The restaurant was very airy and bright. The value of meals was reasonable, I will definitely be going again. We were well looked after by our waiter.
Really like this restaurant - the service and quality are always consistently good! We arrived at a very busy time last Friday night but they still met our expectations - food was promt and excellent.
Great friendly team. Always given a warm welcome. Food is lovely. Perfect for a regular Friday night treat. When the weather is good sitting in the garden offers a perfect setting.
Enjoyable evening. We dined from the early evening menu which was good value. Nice food, particularly the langoustine starter and crumble dessert. We enjoyed friendly service.
we have eaten at this branch since it opened. breakfast or lunch or dinner. always very good under all headings. the garden is an added attraction.
Very efficient service and good quality food, for the price, on a busy Saturday evening. Wine was also good value for money. It's very popular, justifiably so, so don't expect a quiet evening's dining at the weekend.
This is a great place to eat, excellent food, well cooked and super service. Something for everyone. Staff very helpful and obliging. If you haven't been try it.
Food was lovely as ever and we really enjoyed our meal; however, there were several times we had to correct the server on our order as she kept quoting it back incorrectly (we actually were still brought a wrong drink which we had to get replaced). We also weren't brought our bill at the end of the meal - had I not been proactive when we left we probably would have been allowed to leave without paying! Also, the garden needed a bit of a sweep with all the fallen leaves on floors/seats!
Lovely food and atmosphere but service very slow which meant we could not have dessert as going on to theatre. Lovely waitress but covering too large an area.
Very busy, clearly understaffed. Even though i had reserved a table for 3 adults, a baby in a high chair and a toddler they weren't expecting us. We had to wait a long time for a high chair which made a meal with babies very stressful!
We visited Cote for a family occasion. There were five of us, including a vegetarian and a confirmed meat eater. Cote's menu allowed plenty of choice for both so family harmony was guaranteed. The staff were pleasant and attentive. My only slight criticism would be about the noise level. Like a lot of modern restaurants, there were hard surfaces everywhere, add on a very noisy toddler (not Cote's fault) and noise levels became deafening.
Great food and ambience. The Breton Chicken is always good, the sourdough bread is gorgeous and the Crepes Chantilly was sublime, I just wish it was available all the time.
Good food and excellence service. Firs visit for supper and would go again. Wine was very good value and very enjoyable. Choice of tables. All good
Slightly expensive compared to some restaurants but gorgeous food and great service. Lovely atmosphere and we were given time to enjoy our evening at no point were we rush to eat our meal.
A good evening. Staff were friendly, food was good and reasonably priced. We sat outside on the terrace which was perfect on such a lovely evening
Brilliant service , great food , all meals beautifully presented . We sat outside it was very relaxed . will definitely visit again and recommend to friends .
Very good lunch experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Varied menu and good value special menu. Not rushed and to be repeated lunch time event. Drinks at a reasonable price.
For a meal before a show at the Albany Arena I decided to have a meal at the Cote Brasserie and I was delighted to find the food was delicious and the service was very fast. The waiting staff were very helpful in helping me to decided on what I would like to eat. I definitely would recommend this restaurant if you are coming to spend some time in St Albans.
Four of us ate here on a Sunday early evening and the food, service and atmosphere was excellent!! I have now eaten here three times within as many weeks and I have to say that each time I have enjoyed various meals. Such good value too if you want a cheaper two course meal but still reasonable from the a la crate.
Nice spacious restaurant, very good service from pleasant, good Selection of dishes cooked well, nice presentation. Quality wine list at reasonable prices. Would recommend and will certainly return.
Cote in St Albans is usually a sure thing. Today the service was under par - we decided not to bother with desserts because it had already taken ages to have the plates cleared from the table and there were no signs of the dessert menus. Food was good as always - thought it was a bit naughty that we were given (and charged for) an adult sized meal when it was clear that the 10 year old was ordering from the child menu.
If we are to visit you every couple of weeks or so, it is important that the menu varies so that for instance, if we like fish, the next time we arrive there is a different fish available. I am not impressed with large portions as it ends up with only having two courses instead of three!. Hope t his helps. Peter Culpitt
Excellent. Fine dining in a fine venue accompanied by polite & friendly staff who provide excellent service. Reasonably priced and varied menu has put the 'Cote' at the top of my local restaurants list.
Once again we were able to book our specific favourite table and received a warm welcome in arrival. It was very good service even though the restaurant was extremely busy.
Great service in nice surroundings in the middle of St Albans. Food was excellent as usual This house white wine was excellent and at a reasonable price
The restaurant was VERY hot, we were all actually sweating - the 'manager' told me that the Air Conditioning was broken and she was hoping to get it fixed in 6 months - I said "just in time for christmas then"... Very uncomfortable - we left early - even though we would have liked puddings and coffee.
The staff were very welcoming and arranged to bring our birthday cake out. The food was excellent and all 8 of us enjoyed it. Thank you
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience yesterday at Cote St Albans. We were greeted by friendly smiling staff, food service was excellent
We all had a really nice evening with good service and lovely food - good ambience. Love the atmosphere and style of the St Albans restaurant.
Good service. Amazing good. The steak was cooked to perfection! Lovely selection of desserts! Especially the frozen berries! Really enjoyable evening celebrating end of exams!
Really lovely food, great service and a great atmosphere. My Dad loved it and he's a total fuss pot! We will definitely be returning soon!
Food was excellent as was the wine and kirs. Service in St Albans often seems to lack the buzz of other Cotes and can lack warmth.
As always excellent food and service. Swopped the frites with the grilled plaice for jersey royals. Delicious. Had the creme brûlée and creme caramel for dessert - always the best.
