Lovely food as always. Service good to start but got progressively worse through the evening with us having to ask for plates to be cleared etc. However they still charge their 12.5% gratuity!!!

Food was is exceptionally quick, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. Great location, just arrive a little early to allow for parking. I would return

Great friendly service from Maya and Caroline. Very attentive but not intrusive, food for the kids came very quickly which was great. Always a great time at Cote.

The waitress was really moody all night And although the food was nice, the portions was so tiny for the price I paid Would of been nice to have a waitress who actually smiled

We had the early menu which consists of 2 courses for £10.95. Excellent value and good choice of food on menu. Service efficient and polite

Catered very well for anyone with dietary restrictions (gluten free menu is extensive). Food was delicious and the service was lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Very helpful staff, cheerfully pulling tables together to accommodate us. The food was delicious and there was plenty of choice on the set menu which is reasonably priced.

My two companions were happy with their food, although my duck was a little dry. I've been there many times but for the first time I noticed a scented smell in the air, rather like that of a toilet freshener: not pleasant and not conducive to eating. Perhaps the candles were scented but whatever it was, it didn't work for me. Service good, as always.

My own dish was fine, bur my wife went for one of the specials which was chicken. She found it dry and it tasted as if it had been pre cooked and heated up. Deserts were nice as always. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Visited 29.4.17 but two dishes on the menu not available which we were not told about by the waitress; only found out when we tried to order them. Found alternatives on the menu and the manageress very kindly deducted something from the bill to compensate. All in all would visit Cote again.

Great food and service as usual. The only thing I really don't like is the "optional 12.5% service" which I know I can ask to be left off but the restaurant really should not add it on in the first place.

As usual the food and service were up to their usual standard. Perhaps a variation to their early menu including say a salad for a main course as it it coming up to summer would be good.

We booked for lunch at Cote in St. Albans on Mothers Day. We have been coming to Cote in St. Albans alot over the years but for the price charged we were very surprised how small the portion size has become - particularly the Belly of Pork, the duck and the lamb shank - I have large boys and they left hungry!!!. My husband had the tuna salad and there was no real flavouring on the salad. Finally the liqeur coffees we ordered were the smallest I have ever seen and ridiculous priced at £4.95. Disappointing for the price and we won't be returning.

Food was delicious. Service was very nice. Ambiance at the time we went (5pm- very late lunch!) was very loud, full of young parents and very noisy babies! The restaurant would benefit from a general 'tart up' its starting to look very tired.

Was rather chilly in the St Albans branch last night as air con on full blast, so we were reallocated seating nearer the back. Unfortunately, this seemed to be the noisy area and couldn't hear the waiter. Overall (once noisy people gone) though the experience was good. Service was very good and food average, if a little overpriced. The best part were the delicious desserts, creme brulee and creme caramel, amazing.

Very enjoyable meal. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice ambiance in the restaurant and not too noisy. Courses served in good time with no delays, even though we were dining on a Friday night and the restaurant was full. The rewards scheme is very helpful for advance booking and allowed us to get a table in the restaurant at 3 hours notice.

Not the busiest of nights so ambiance was a bit lacking but compensated for by helpful and attentive staff during a relaxed and unrushed dinner. Excellent whitebait was a starter highs pot.

Came for Mother's Day brunch-Lovely food, service wasn't as good as I expected it to be-our waiter wasn't very warm or efficient or clear of what we wanted for our order. Our drinks took a long time to come- I appreciate it was a busy time but think it could have been prepared for a bit better knowing it was going to a busy period. Having said this we would come again, just a few tweeks needed to be even more successful and sharp!

It was a busy day so it may be the reason the steak was on the cool side and the special dessert seemed overtired and overcooked. Not up to their usual best, felt a bit like a chain restaurant meal - which for many years it has managed to rise well above.

Always enjoyable, quality of food excellent and Mothers Day glass of champagne went down very well with my wife. If I had any criticism they didn't have any marmalade for our toast!!!

Service was efficient and the food was excellent, as always. Despite it being a busy day (Mothering Sunday) the staff were extremely welcoming and did not appear overwhelmed. Our main courses arrived quickly and were very hot. Dessert was faultless too. And the final bill very reasonable. My mum really enjoyed her meal :)

Everything was really, really perfect - food, welcome, service. Great value for money as well. One of our favourite places. Particularly enjoyed the "Vegetarian" (non-meat) cooked breakfast with a vegetarian sausage.
