Always good food, reasonably priced with exceptional service in a relaxed atmosphere..
We arrived slightly early for our booked table, but we were accommodated with no problem, and shown to our table. The staff were very efficient and polite, nothing was too much trouble, and we were left to enjoy our food in our own time. The food was excellent, hot and generous portions. The restaurant was clean and tidy, with a very pleasant atmosphere, and one of the nicest meal experiences I have had for a long time, And only too happy to pay the 12.5% service charge for such good service.
Always very reliable, good quality food and attentive staff, which is why I cone back.
A really good lunch, well cooked, well presented and excellent service
Good value for money and great service. Shame that the Fougasse was sold out. It seems to be the case most Of times we eat in Cote.
Excellent time. Service very good and so too the food and drink
Slightly long wait for the main courses as the restaurant was packed but the customer service is excellent and the food never disappoints when it arrives.
Another very good meal tonight. Excellent presentation and very pleasant staff throughout our meal. As expected.
Always happy with our outings to Cote.. Always excellent food and staff are always so welcoming. Great atmosphere and never rushed, Staff attentive but never intrusive.
Great food, as ever and good service. Always worth a visit and you HAVE to try the roast pork loin. Delicious!!
Yes we enjoyed our lunch, staff very helpful and friendly, and despite we were ‘eating out to help out’ and the spacious restaurant was busy we didn’t have long too wait, good coffee too !
Great food and service at reasonable price. Lovely evening out
Service was superb, food delicious as always just not happy with service charge, left a cash tip for the waiter instead
Lovely meal. Great tasting food and excellent service. My favourite restaurant in St Albans.
Great overall experience, Amazing Food good Atmosphere good Drinks good Service very good
The Covid-19 protection messages seemed to work reasonably well. Service was somewhat slower than normal and there was a long wait for our initial drinks order. The food was good though I had to send back my lamb as it was almost raw having asked for medium. The returned chop was still very under done but didn’t complain as I didn’t want to delay the meal any more.
Service excellent but food wanting - Fougasse was stodgy, beef fillet not as tender as you would expect and Tarte Fine aux Pommes had clearly been heated up in microwave and showed no sign of being crisp - just very soggy. Very disappointing
An all round nice visit with good food & service. Only downside is , due to the style & size of building, it is very echoing .
A pleasant lunch. Husband was disappointed that all beer was bottled. Delicious starters ( crab and prawns au gratin) and the three fish potato topped pie - but my Goats cheese salad was lettuce, onion and dressing heavy. Pleasant servers - good spacing of tables - but no one pointed out the hand sanitising stations - indeed, we should have been asked to use them on entry - as in other restaurants we have visited recently. It was not made clear what happened to the menus when taken away - are they ‘one use’ or sanitised for re-use) our server was very vague about this.
Great service, well cooked food, pleasant atmosphere and a very reasonable price.
Bread was hard, not enough butter, very basic. Sausage was excellent. Steak was tough to cut through, let alone chew. I gave up after an enthusiastic attempt. Table far too small to accommodate drinks and food, charmless waiter wasn’t happy with using empty table next door to place bottles, subsequently resorted to using the floor as an overflow area. All a bit refugee for me.
We are repeat visitors for the following reasons , The food is consistently delicious . Our favourite , crab mayonnaise and steak frites but other meals are always tempting . The service is efficient ,prompt ,friendly and professional, and again consistently so . The atmosphere is relaxing and during Covid we have felt safe . St Albans is a particular favourite as we can enjoy the outdoor experience with the comfort of the outdoor heating . Think the management ensure this consistent lovely experience with charm, enthusiasm and professionalism .
excellent food staff superb nice table it was my 66th b'day and you made it !! Thank You x
Lovely food and relaxing atmosphere. Will defiantly come back 👌🏻
Lovely food & excellent & friendly staff. Will definitely be returning.
Generally excellent food and good service, some customers not really behaving correctly and as they drink too much don’t always observe social distancing rules but not much staff can do about this. We still have a very enjoyable evening and would go again
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. See you soon.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and service as always. Second time I’ve been back since opening and will continue to do so, the restaurant is clean and staff I’ve taken great care to ensure the safety of customers in these unprecedented times
Great service and lovely food, amazing gluten free options too!
Very nice overall. Food and service were great. There were a couple of niggles. We asked if there was somewhere to hang our pram’s wet rain cover to dry so it didn’t drip all over the floor causing a hazard and were told there wasn’t anywhere, which I don’t believe for a minute. Maybe it was a COVID-19 precaution. The other thing I would change is the type of salad bowls - it would be better if they were wider and shallower to make eating the salad easier. The ones used were too high and narrow in my opinion. Other than those points we had a lovely lunch.
Social distancing in place... good Quick service and amazing food...
The atmosphere and décor were pleasing with a varied menu and excellent caring staff. I would recommend it to friends and I wish you every success in these troubled times. I would love it if you opened a restaurant in Hertford.
Amazing food and service - only would say not have every table used as quite close to others
Very professional and courteous, excellent service and wonderful food, have booked to visit another restaurant in Cirencester on Tuesday as we where so impressed. will be using again even after Government discounts stop.
Really great to be back, veery calm well spaced and delicious food a real treat
Lovely food, great ambient atmosphere and attentive staff. Good social distancing measures in place
Wonderful family meal had in the garden of the St Albans brasserie. Service and good were excellent as always. We really enjoyed using Cote at home and will continue to do so but it was lovely to get back to the restaurant. Social distancing and hygiene were excellent and we felt safe at all times
Only criticism, table was a little small for x4. Perhaps the complimentary water could be poured for each guest then just one flask left on the table to allow a little more room. All dishes very much enjoyed. Very grateful the manager was able to bring our booking forward. All staff very obliging and friendly.
Beautiful presentation, great setting, fantastic professionalism. What else.... equisite food; likewise to the service provided. The personnel seemed all very professional. Hygiene kept to the highest standard. I mean it was simply fantastic.
Good food and attentive service. They had promised us a complimentary kir royal as they had to cancel our booking the week before and without having to ask, the waitress remembered. Small touches that make all the difference.
