You know what you are getting when you eat at cote. we were a large group so it was great the restaurant accommodated us but it did take quite a while to get served.
Excellent and prompt service and really great food. Lively atmosphere but ok to have a conversation. Would recommend for lunch or dinner. Good value for money.
As usual great dining experience at Côte. Starters were brought quickly and the mains were served perfectly. Only slight issue for me personally was that we were downstairs and I found it a very noisy environment and I struggled to hear my colleagues.
This is an area of London well known to me as I worked in Fleet Street for many years but I have never eaten at this restaurant before. We chose it on a visit into the City from the countryside where we now live. The restaurant was strategically placed for our visit to Tate Modern and later the theatre near Charing Cross. The location enabled us to avoid the hoardes of theatre diners while easily being able to get a bus to the theatre after.... The restaurant was quite busy and had a nice atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough for you. They were helpful, quick and efficient We ordered from a set menu as we felt it offered good value. We both chose calamari for starters and were pleasantly surprised as it wasn't cooked in the usual over fried batter but in breadcrumbs. Plenty of it too. We followed this up with a seafood spaghetti. Again, plenty of it and tasty. We resisted the desserts but did have a glass of wine with our meal. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch or supper. Well done everyone. A pleasant and surprising experience for a cynical ex Londoner who finds London restaurants generally over priced and not very good. Just one word of warning, if you have mobility difficulties you would find it difficult to access the toilets down a spiral staircase and then a walk along a corridor. Unless they have a toilet upstairs that I don't know about
A really pleasant and enjoyable meal in good surroundings. Food was all well prepared, very tasty and very good value from the set menus. sevice was excellent and waiting staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Great value and lovely food. Service prompt and very good
The Côte Brasserie in St Paul's was terribly disappointing and I would not recommend this one at all. The seating area on the lower ground floor was quite spacious but, unfortunately, the service from the waiters was appalling. The main courses were very disappointing. The chicken was tasteless, the mussels were poor and the thin fries weren't hot.
Fabulous food, attentive staff and pleasant environment. I would highly recommend it.
We sat down in a good spot and ordered an "aperitif" from the menu. It arrived quite promptly but I had a few sips and new something was up. My gin and tonic tasted of aniseed. I was so surprised and had to find a staff member to return it and explain. They apologised and explained that the measure for my gin had been used for Ricard or Pernod immediately prior. Whilst returning my aniseed gin and tonic, our starters arrived together with our bottle of wine which was opened and placed in an ice bucket. This was done before we could see that the wine was the wrong choice. My wife had only just begun her aperitif. As the wine had arrived with the food there was no need to order a replacement gin and tonic as the meaning of and time for an aperitif was past. It turned out the wine was not right and we had to ask for that to be replaced. At that point we felt uncomfortable and hurried; we had not been allowed to have a pre-dinner drink as we'd planned and ordered. Whilst we were trying to, we had the bottle of wine opened and plonked in an ice bucket before we could see it was the wrong wine - the restaurant kindly changed the wine but it was a shame to have wasted the first bottle. The starters were what we expect of Cote but enjoyment overtaken by changing the G&T and then the wine. When our mains arrived, we ate them with the wine we had ordered and then asked for the bill, paid and left as it had not been a relaxing experience.

Lovely meal at COTE always go here. The steak was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent along with the cosy ambience of the restaurant. Highly recommended
Service was very slow. Friends fish meal tasted off so had to be returned. My lamb dish was excellent, couldn't fault that. Had to wait an age to pay the bill. Will try this place again but won't be the first choice on our list
Excellent service, really friendly and attentive staff, beautiful food... I would thoroughly recommend it... all washed down with complimentary birthday Kir Royales...Cheers all and Thank you
We have enjoy the meal and few drinks. It was very nice atmosphere, as always. Special thank you for Ryan and Kane as they have been extremely helpful. Everyone is always nice and friendly and food is great. This is not my first time and most definitely won't be the last. I highly recommend this place.
As usual, the food was first-rate with a good choice on the menu. We had a good table and the staff were efficient although could have been a bit more attentive from time to time.
We were well looked after by the staff as usual in the Cote St. Paul's. My client was very happy with all aspects of the meal and venue.
Good food, polite and attentive service. Reliable and pleasant venue to meet friends and hear each other talk. Would return
Very enjoyable. Good food and attentive staff. One of us had yoghurt and granola which seemed to be nearly all granola, otherwise you would have had an extra star.
Great reasonably priced food in a lovely atmosphere. Service by Mandy at St.Pauls was exceptional Will visit again!
The food was great and the staff were extremely helpful.
Service was excellent. Food was good no complaints whatsoever. Venue good. Only downside was that the WC’s were downstairs. Could do with a WC upstairs too.
Excellent prompt service. Great food. Cheerful staff. Ideal before s concert at the Barbican
Food great, service great, atmosphere was lovely and had window table, no complaints! Thank you.
My whole group enjoyed the evening and evening went as far as to accommodate one diner who had a allergen for most foods. Thank you very much
there was a wide choice of food. We had a great meal with excellent ingredients. Service was good
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cote, St Pauls. The service was excellent as was the food. This is in keeping with our previous experiences
Friendly staff I requested a larger starter for a main and no problem
A favourite haunt and needed an early lunch. Good meal and excellent service.
Convenient location; duck and one if the puddings was off the menu, which was disappointing. Service was not good - the waiters did not seem to be particularly attentive, so it was difficult to get their attention (for example, when we wanted to order our dessert, and when we wanted the bill)
Cote St Paul’s - my favourite of the group’s London branches - can hardly be faulted. Both the food and service are excellent, and in an area of the City where restaurants come and go Cote has remained a reliable constant over many years. Given its location it cannot be beaten for value. Clearly, many local office workers are regular customers, and I am not surprised that there is such loyalty to an establishment that has managed for so long to remain so near-perfect when many neighbouring establishments have become overpriced and impersonal.
Always a pleasure to eat, or even just have a coffee at Cote on Ludgate Hill. the food is excellent and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Its one of our favourite places to eat. We were downstairs yesterday and thought it very noisy!
The staff at this Cote are very busy and under pressure but they manage to remain helpful and polite
I always enjoy visiting the restaurant. Good food and responsive service.
Good food, excellent service and a smile with it. if a "brasserie" why no French bread at the start?
What an amazing place this is - it was our anniversary and all the staff made a fuss of us and gave us gifts and a most wonderful card - I was quite overwhelmed. Sam was just fantastic and made us feel so special - Amanda was amazing and managed to retrieve our very special table - JJ as always was great and Leon the chef decorated our favourite dessert - the best ever Creme Caramel ( best in the World ) - Victoria was also just lovely - it was just so nice of them all and we did not know what to say This is truly a very lovely place to eat - the food is excellent and the staff just amazing - Thank you Trevor and Carol
My first time at a Cote. Visit made on a recommendation and your offer of the Free monthly cocktail (which was excellent). On leaving I made a mental note of “must visit this chain again”. Our party left in a positive mood. However I was somewhat disappointed later when I looked over my bill and noticed that an optional 12.5% tip had already been applied - not so much optional when it’s already be applied so putting pressure on the customer NOT to ask for it to be removed and also was not pointed out to the customer even when a cash gratuity was given. So I’ve now have a slightly less opinion of the Cote holding company than I had before. Over the course of a year those 12.5%s add up to a tidy sum that the company basically gets out of paying their staff. If you feel your staff need extra money then pay them. Don’t be so greedy chasing the profit numbers - accept a lower profit and pay your staff better. There are very few industries that a gratuity is paid or expected. All 4 of our party work in different industries yet none except or receive gratuities. Any gratuity should be totally optional and not based on how much you spend with your company. Not all customers will feel they can afford 12.5%. I will now think twice about revisiting Cote which is a great pity because overall our party had a great experience. Don’t let gratuities become gratuitous! A lesson for me is always check the menu and bill for full terms and conditions!
A big thank you to the staff at Cote, Ludgate Hill for making our visit so pleasurable at lunchtime on 14th February 2020. We were a large group of 19 but were always treated in such a friendly and welcoming way, and very efficiently too. It can’t have been easy for them but they did a wonderful job. The food and ambiance was excellent as always. I can always count on Cote for a successful visit. Christine Tyldsley
Good welcome and friendly service. Nice atmosphere. The food was not quite as good as it can be. But will happily return
It was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. The food was very tasty and fantastic value for money especially giving the location. Definitely recommend.
Very warm welcome from staff. Were given a good table. Staff were friendly and did not rush us to order as we were chatting. Food and drinks served reasonably quickly. Food was of a good quality. My guests were from Belgium where mussels and frites are a popular dish. My guest ordered this to see if they were as good as in Belgium.... he was not disappointed. Guests were surprised to see water brought to the table and impressed as this was not something they remember from the UK before. My guests commented that the food was very good and good value for the price Thank you to all staff including kitchen staff, we had a great meal, nice service and a good lunch
Perfect only criticism was the white wine wasn’t cold enough but the manager agreed and changed for cold one
Lovely food served by a very pleasant, helpful waitress in a timely manner
We had a lovely meal with great service. Would definitely recommend
Friendly efficientsataff, good value meal, we will come again! Thank you.
I was really looking forward to my breakfast, very disappointed not to be offered butter and therefore had dry toast. In addition my toast was burnt. I was running late for work and therefore did not cause a fuss and ate it.
Wonderful food and exceptional service. We had a birthday in our party and felt very well looked after. Will be rushing back!
The welcome was a little awkward and we were told hang around the entrance until someone was ready to show us to our seat. After this though the experience was perfect.
Such lovely staff. Very attentive, courteous and friendly and particularly welcoming.
Good place for relaxed afternoon meal with friends, but mobility access arrangements are difficult. Disabled loo is a long way away, in the main hotel next door, on a lower floor, accessed by the hotel lift, & along a long winding corridor. In order to access that lift, you either have to go outside again & in the hotel entrance, or staff have to specially open the interior door for you. Either way it’s a very long walk for those who still walk, & a long push for those who don’t. So for the website to claim the restaurant is mobility accessible is debatable. I phoned beforehand to check the mobility access & was told it was straightforward - it certainly isn’t!
very good service and lovely food. Would definitely re-visit. *
